Re: Got a game?

I could run it.  The thing is, as you know I tend to disappear for a few days.  I'm not sure anyone would have the patience to join one of my games, even if it was well written and well maintained.

In reply to Dark Devine (msg # 202):

Well then no one would want you as a player either unless the game was deliberately slow paced. Either way this page has conversions for the imperial guards gear in one cconversion and dark heresy stuff in another conversion. Might be worth checking out.

Re: Got a game?

Looking for one additional player for a moderately fast-paced game based on the AD&D Slavers series (and beyond into related modules).

Uses Savage Worlds Deluxe and the Fantasy Companion, though I'll accept material from other published PEG settings for character builds if you can justify it.

Re: Got a game?

Would there be interest in Savage Tekumel if the defining social aspects were mostly stripped out and were replaced with non-stop action?

In response to Joker:

I was throwing it out there because it sounded like a good idea.  :)  I don't intend to bog down anyone elses' games, but that doesn't mean I don't like to plant seeds of creativity.  I probably wouldn't even be in it, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like for it to exist.  To be honest, there are a lot of games on here I'd love to partake in but schedule doesn't allow for it.

Savage Hyboria

I have been wanting to run a game in Howard's Hyboria for a while.  I ran the old d20 Conan game back in the 3.0 days, and have the books as source material, but would rather run it with Savage Worlds.

I have heard that Beasts and Barbarians does a good job of capturing the feel of Conan

I have that, as well as a Savage Hyboria pdf I found online at some point in the past.  I actually created the game last November, as a place to work out some ideas before I actually launched it.  If there is interest, I can have it ready to play fairly quickly.

[SWD] Wasteland Wanderers

Centuries in the past, the ancient world fell to ruin. No one living now seems to know exactly how the world came to be the way it is today.

The land is covered in ancient ruins and wastelands. To the adventurous, there are valuables and lost technology to be found--and junk--lots of junk, but many dangers await those who travel in search of fortune. Roaming gangs of marauders, killer robots, mutated animals and plants, and entirely new species present an ever present danger--not to mention nature itself and the need for clean water, unspoiled food, shelter from the elements, and weapons to defend yourself with.

Sure, there are decent folk about though--and not all of them are human, but you never really know when you first meet someone. Some of those beings may be friendly--or merely pose as such to rob you blind when you aren’t looking. There are communities scattered about the land as well, but you don’t know if you’ll be welcomed--or attacked upon first sight. Even if they let you among them and mean you no harm, they might have strange rules, customs, or beliefs that you inadvertently break, or cause offense without even knowing what set them upon you.

So grab your weapons and supplies, keep your ears and eyes open, and keep your wits about you--and you might live long enough to grow old.

*****

I have a preference for female characters (but I don't care if the character's player is a boy or girl in real life), but male characters are acceptable. The main thing is that the character needs to interest me.

Rating: PG-13/"Lite" R

We'll be using the Savage Worlds Deluxe system.

I'm looking for 3-5 PCs.

If you're interested, additional details are in the 'OOC - Character Creation' thread:

Re: Got a game?

Hi, (Throws his hat, apologeticaly, into the room)
Sadly my attempt a Thrilling Tales Curse of the Jade Monkey, came to a crashing halt. I will not try and offer excuses, merely apolgise to those members taking part.
I am considering resurecting the game and giving it another shot. If those who were involved in the first attempt are still interested, please let me know.
If not I will be starting over.

In reply to cooneydad (msg # 216):

I second. I think you were getting off to a good start. Unfortunately I've resurrected the character in another Thrilling Tails game that OggyBenDoggy is running. I would need to create a new character for yours.

Re: Got a game?

I've resurected the game. Anyone still interested in joining in, even if that means creating a whole new character, let me know. Luckily we didn't get to far into the story, that the case can't be reopened with a few minor changes in charcters.

Same here.  I just started a Thrilling Tales game as GM, and I'd like to play as well.  I haven't read any of the adventures that come with it; I don't even know if Jade Monkey came in the bundle

Re: Got a game?

The 'Curse of the Jade Monkey' (Thrilling Tales, SW) has recommenced. There is still time to introduce a new character.
So far we have;
Cooneydad as Dr Justice
Grandmaster_cain as Bruce Chan
IrishMarshal as Blackie
Boomcoach as Madame Xhulinga
Wibbs as Dr Smythe-Worthington (possibly)

Re: Got a game?

We have room for one more player before the real action begins, as Wibbs has not rejoined, the character, Dr William Smythe-Worthington awaits a player.

Description
With a short, slightly stooped posture, William is an unassuming man at first
glance, but people tend to baulk at his appearance due to a hideous scar
covering the right side of his face from a burn injury he gained during the
Great War. He wears his hair short, and dresses smartly but not over formally.

Background
Educated at Eton then Cambridge, he comes from a privileged background, but
has been disowned by his family for not following in his fathers footsteps into
a legal profession.

Always fascinated by science and the natural world, he found his niche at
school and devoured anything to do with the subject. He progressed onto
university, where he was a standout student, and when the Great War came, his
contribution had more to do with his brain and inventions rather than any
actual fighting.

In fact, for him the time would have passed relatively incident free were it
not for the accident that left him physically scarred for life. His colleague,
Dr Fontaine was working on something to do with super-powered explosives or
some such, and one day one of his multitude of experiments went out of control,
setting fire to the laboratory. William managed to get most people out, but in
the process got trapped and still bears the burns the fire caused.

A number of years later, whilst carrying out his own private research, William's
expertise was sought by John Collins. Over time they built up a close working
relationship to the extent that one day, John revealed his identity as Doctor
Justice! William immediately identified with him and his never-ending goal.

Since then William has worked closely with him and answers his call
whenever it might come - 'Evil must fall!'
