The Day after Ragnarok

I was wondering if anyone would be up for this game? It seems to have a very epic pulp cthulu-ish setting which seems interesting. Let me know if anyone else has the books.

In reply to rabideldar (msg #1):

Yes, its very cool.
I would like to play in it.
I only a little bit overwhelmed by the possibilitys.
Wich area to play, wich campaign...
The best supported (all the encounter table) are the poisoned lands/postapocaylpse.
But I think the others are far more interesting.
I really like egypt, I would love a air pirates campaign, or some treasure hunter in the european ruins. Or fighting russians spys, KGB and uplifted gorrilas and the magic giants. Or highmagic, exploring the snakes cadaver and fighting deros and cults.

So mayn ideas that are only briefly mentioned and would need much work. ;-)

Re: The Day after Ragnarok

Well I am very into allowing players Narrative control and letting them build the world. I still have not read the whole book yet but I was draw to it because of the Apocalypse setting. I really like the monsters section it seems to be a very good book so far.

Re: The Day after Ragnarok

Yes, there are some nice monsters, I really like the soviet gorillas.
I really like the "five places to......" feature (...stomp Nazis; ...find mad masterminds lair; ...fight pirates). Only a short sentence each, but each is a idea for a whole adventure. :-)

Re: The Day after Ragnarok

This is a great setting, so many possibilities.  I'd be interested, but will have to see how things shake out as I have several irons in the fire right now. In the mean time I'll pull my book out and take a look (it's been awhile since I went through it).

Although I like the idea of fighting Russian spies and Nazis as agents.  That could be fun and allow for diverse globe hopping adventures.  Just a thought of how to maximize the variety of adventures.

Re: The Day after Ragnarok

Yes, the possibiliyts are to much....

I really like Post-apocalypse settings. But the poisoned lands are, IMHO not the place where the really cool things happen. I mean, its like Hell on earth, or even Darwins world, only with more snakes and low tech. Warring Survivor citys are cool, dont get me wrong. But stting between two 100 miles high part of  dead the Midgard snake, in a eon-old city overcrowded with snake worshippers, spys, mad wizards and even madder necro-scientist is way cooler.
By the way, must buy Teheran-city of spys.....;-)

Re: The Day after Ragnarok

Would anyone be interested in a short adventure? Maybe a one shot using GM created character's rather than everyone making a character?

If so where and what would you want to be?

Nomadic tribe? Monster Hunters? Texas Rangers? Bound together by Fate?

I might be willing to run a one shot just for giggles.

I'd definitely play. I'm not picky. I'd be good with just about everything.

Re: The Day after Ragnarok

Yes, I would like to play anything. Even the postapocalyptic poisoned land if you prefer this, that I sayed above I like other settings better shouldnt hinder you. :-)
But a team of Monster Hunter or Texas Ranger sounds fine for a one-shot. clear targets, characters know each others - sounds good.

Re: The Day after Ragnarok

Here is my plan (keep in mind I'll probably get the board up by this weekend.)

The group is a bunch of Texas Rangers (you'll start out as Veterans) who are sent to investigation strange activity on the Texas border with the Poisoned Lands.

Possible archetype ideas I will possibly include:
A scientist studying the poison lands (Ophi-Tech)
A Priest to bless the bodies of the dead (Miracles)
A recruit (novice) Texas ranger looking to make a name

Just ideas so far however I want to make sure the game is diverse enough to not limit characters but not so out there that those characters would not be in the service of Texas Rangers.

Re: The Day after Ragnarok

Running a Day After Ragnarok game if anyone wants in.

I have a bruiser and medic character so far. Still openings for any number of characters.

Players will be anti-heroes. Bandits, raiders, etc. trying to survive in the American Poison lands.
