I did get a couple of pings on that, so I'll be creating the game today

PLayer's guide would be useful, but not requried, you could be a "recent arrival".  I'll post some basic background info in the game

Alternate starts.

Even if I don't do a 50F game, it might be fun to bounce around ideas on how to start.

1 - Just skip the first bit and start at Brigandy Bay or off Perch
2 - stranded in the Flotsam Sea, trying to repair a ship to get out
3 - in port looking for work

You start at the person who wants mermaids for her epic Zoo. Then work from there.

I only have hte original 50F, and it says something about Fire Mages being quite feared in ship combat.

But there aren't actually any rules about fire bolts catching ships on fire.

The only rules I could find are that any Chassis wound (from any attack) has a 1/6 from knocking over a lantern or whatever.
And Fire Shot (red hot cannon ball) has a 5-6 chance of lighting a fire on a hit.

I'm tempted to treat a bolt like a Fire Shot.  And maybe say if all you want to do is light it on fire, like aim for the sails or whatever, it's 4/6.  Thoughts?

Doesn't fantasy companion have some trappings rules for catching things on fire? I'll have to go look now...

If it did you could work maybe use it to affect the ship, but another main concern should be that sailors that had been fighting (loading canons, boarding actions, etc.) now have to stop that and start putting out fires.  But the other guys all get to keep shooting.

Did you click the mature checkbox?

I run Lankhmar on roll20, my friend runs TMNT, another Runs a sky pirate game, another runs Hell on Earth. Roll20 has a ton of savage worlds games on there, they just don't advertise.

I am thinking about running a 50 Fathoms game. Would anyone be interested in joining? I am also thinking about limiting some races to only NPC.

NPC Only Races: Atani and Scurillians.

It looks like so far it would only be you two. I am not against two heroes but I'd love to have an extra one or two people just to pad the heroes a bit more.
