My Halloween involves recieving the mendikids in a haunted house, then spending an hour at a nearby Halloween party.

Although none of the kids knew what my costume was, three of the adults correctly identified me as the Gatekeeper, though only one by that name. The other two called me the cover of the DMG.

LOL,  I need to figure out a good drinking costume.  Maybe the Captain from the Captain Morgan commercials.  Then when someone fuss at you about drinking you can always tell them that you are in Character.  ;)

Last year's best costume was a kid who not only dressed as Captain Morgan, but also brought a wooden crate with him, so that he could put his foot on it as he said, "Trick or treat!"

About the only thing Halloweeny we did this year was scoop out some pumpkins and roast the seeds.  We're right in the middle of replacing all the old knob & tube wiring, so half of our circuits are off.  I don't think even our doorbell works.  We just spent the evening watching a couple ofmy nieces' high school volleyball match.

Well, I usually dress up as a grim reaper and pretend to be a decoration (slumped in a chair like an unruly mannequin) - until the kids walk by. Then I turn my head to follow them. Ah! The frightened looks, the disbelief from the kids who didn't see me move, the occasional screams. That's what Halloween is all about. That, and full size candy bars for those brave enough to pass me on the way to the front door.

Alas, not this year. Like our DM, I was having weather more common to January and I'm not exactly what one would refer to as "petite". I don't think I could get the bargain bin grim robes over my parka even if I wanted to!

BTW... one of my favorite reactions was a kid who asked, "Are you animatronic?" and I answered "yes". "It's ok, Mom. It's just animatronic".

That is hilarious!

I love Halloween, but my daughter is almost 14 and this is the second year of not trick or treating, so I am sure that is over.

She did not want to carve pumpkins either, which we did do last year.

And to boot, only 5 kids came to the door. Our neighbourhood is full of older people who have lived here for 30 or 40 years.

Oh well, there's still Xmas! Decorating is still good with the teenager!

How much of the supplements are you using? I got most of them from one of the Star Frontiers websites a while before they were retracted...

I DO play Traveller, not Star Frontiers though. I play Classic Traveller, Mongoose Traveller 1 and 2 and Cepheus Engine.

You mean like Star Frontiersman and Frontier Explorer magazines? Bits and pieces. Otherwise it's mostly an Alpha Dawn game.

I love Traveller!  Haven't played in a long time though...

I'm in several games on RPoL, one using Cepheus Engine just starting up if you're interested. Several Mongoose games too, but the GM is a little slow ATM. He only checks in every 5 to 10 days.

I may have to take a rain check on this, but have wanted to play SF for a long time. Fortunately we all know where to find you if we have a change of heart.

Does anyone remember Steve Jackson Games? 'A Fistful of Turkeys' seems appropriate on the holiday.

I played Traveler so many years ago I hate to count them, but I remember I enjoyed it.

Our FLGS still carries Munchkin, and the local Steve Jackson "rep/game demo-er" lives a short distance from me.  :^)
