Barun se povukao u kut prostorije, te rekao: "Ask your questions, Lord Lyrandar."

Syd je pogledao princa i upitao ga." Prince, you maybe want to go first in the questioning?"

Princ je samo odmahnuo rukom na to. Nije izgledao previše oduševljeno sa ovim ispitivanjem.

Syd se nakašljao i nastavio poprilično formalnim i hladnim glasom obraćajući se polu vilenjaku ispred njega.“ I am Lord Lyrandar, the formal representative of the nation form which you estranged something very valuable. And you are given the opportunity to explain your actions, so do begin, Sir.” Ovo Sir je bilo izrečeno s krajnjim prijezirom, ali Syd mu se ipak nasmiješio, iako je to bilo sve samo ne blagonakloni smiješak.

Polu vilenjak je zurio u Syda, no nakon što je on rekao svoje se okrenuo princu, Hagal je rekao. "So, you will feed me to these dogs? That's what you get for loyalty!"

Barun je na to prozborio svojim uvijek mirnim glasom. "Captain Hagal, do not think you will be able to misguide us whit your wits. We are not fools nor morons."

Princ je samo odgovorio: "Answer his questions, Ikhael."

Na to je pogledao u pod, te progovorio ne podižući pogled. Lice mu je izgledalo u potpunosti opušteno, kao da je već bio umoran od svega. "I have done what I have done. Do with me what you wish, Lord."

"Gentlemen, I must point out that even thou I am here as the voice of the Undying Court and the people of Aerenal, I will be objective in this case. So, please do not take me lightly. And do not lie to me." Kad je izrekao zadnju rečenicu je uputio pogled princu, a zatim se opet obratio Hagalu. " Don't think I will wait forever for your highness to answer my question. I do not give much opportunities and I don't like to when my time is being wasted. So, consider yourself lucky that I am graceful enough to even listen to your lies." U Sydovom glasu nije bilo nikakve uznemirenosti iako je iz njegovih očiju sijao gnjev koji je samo čekao povod da se ostvari.

"I don't have anything to say to you. Nor you. Nor you." Pogledao je princa, pa baruna. "I am already condemed and executed in your eyes. So be it so."

Syd mu se nasmijao u lice. " A drama queen I see. Well, prehaps you should stop with the drama for a second think that not only your head is at stake, but those of thousands innocent people that will get involved in a war that isn't any of their buisness."

"A war?" Na to je podigao pogled i zurio u Syda.

Syd je prostrijelio pogledom i ledenim glasom rekao." Yes, a war. You didn't actually thing your actions could go without punishment or repercussions. Don't be ridicules. I am giving one last chance to stop being arrogant and tell me what really happened. You will find that the soldiers of the Undying Court are not so pleasant like me."

"What do you want from me?" Izgledao je kao da je na rubu suza.

Princ je izletio van, bez riječi. Kapetanica Thallis je pogledala baruna, na što je ovaj kimnuo, te izašla za princem. Njihovi tihi glasovi su se čuli izvana.

Syd je začuđeno pogledao baruna i upitao ga." Does the prince have some emotional issues?"

Opet je pogledao Halaga i malo mu se približio. " Tell what happened. Tell on whose orders you were acting. Don't be a fool and think this has to do anything with loyalty. Theft has nothing to do with that."

"I sailed to Pylas Talaer with my ship. I had a deal with one of the port officials...his name was Ilyr. I don't know his last name. He managed to get us to the warehouse undetected. Syd je progovorio i nije baš zvučao oduševljeno niti uvjereno, ali je ipak rekao." Very well. Your apprehension will be talked out with the Prince. I would like for you to understand one very important thing, and that is if you are afraid to admit who hired you, don't be. Trust me there is nothing so bad that that somebody could do to you, and that the soldiers of the Court won't make worse. And one more question...where is the soarwood?"

"The prince apprehended it when I returned." Prešutio je ovo o brutalnosti Undying vojnika.

"I don't think we'll find out much more from him." Barun se prvi puta javio sa svoje ugodne pozicije.

" Agreed. Will the Prince be joining us?"

"We shall join him." Izašao je van te su odmah nakon toga ušla ona dva mornara.

Syd je pošao za njim i rukom pozvao Medic da krene za njim i u hodu joj šapnuo. " Do you have an opinion about my diplomatic skills?"

"You have your way with your tongue Syd." Odgovorila mu je vedro.
