Re: The Twilight Tomb: The Rains Fell On Furthinghome

So this is how you thank me for saving your worthless lives! Gurgun snarls in Common as he feels the axe sink into his arm. Bringing the quarterstaff about he pushes one end into the abdomen of the new arrival (Fort save DC16 or be stunned 1 round). Moving with blinding speed he then changes direction and gives the net-throwing gnoll the same treatment.

12:26, Today: Gurgun Nightwhisper rolled 4 using 1d6+3. Damage #2.
12:26, Today: Gurgun Nightwhisper rolled 16 using 1d20+4. Flurry of blows/stunning fist QS 2.

Re: The Twilight Tomb: The Rains Fell On Furthinghome

As soon as Iodaem heard Gurgun's cry, he got to his feet, thankful that his armor was light enough for him to sleep in.  As he stood, he gripped his double-handed blade, and looked around the scene of the battle - there seemed to be at least one spellcaster against them.  Just his luck. . .  thankfully, he knew how to do something about that.  In a dark language, he muttered a curse, invoking the evil goddess Beshaba, invoking her malice upon the Shaman as Iodaem cursed him.

[Private to DM BadCatMan:  I'm posting from a public computer at a library, so I can't look up the effects of my Hexblade's Curse, but that's what I'm using - save DC is 16, unless my Hexbands (again, public computer, can't look them up, and don't remember off-hand) boost it. ]

Re: The Twilight Tomb: The Rains Fell On Furthinghome

The newly arrived gnoll took the full force of Gurgun's staff to his belly. Winded and sickened, he stood dazedly in place. But the net-thrower was better off, for the staff impacted on his rusty chain shirt and the leather and fur beneath, and he was barely injured. [Private to Gurgun Nightwhisper: Stunning Fist attacks can only be done 1 per round. But that's okay, your attack on the net-thrower missed anyway.]

The shaman glared evilly at Iodaem. Nothing seemed to have happened.

Allessandra's dreams turn horrible for a brief moment and she hears Gurgan yell out a warning. She wakes up and finds a gnoll standing over her, she tries to roll out of the way of his axe as it came plummeting down and sliced into her leg. She quickly shakes off the nightmare and winces from the pain. She stares into the eyes of the filthy beast towering over her and sees the greed and evil in his eyes.

Allessandra rolled 14 using 1d20+6. will save vs fear effect.

OOC: thats my first round, waking up, still prone.

"Gnolls again?
It is said in a "I told you so" why.
He looks at group around him.  His first wish is to help Allessandra as she been so kind to him.  He will not leave her to defend herself but he know that the biggest danger is shaman.
"I will be with you soon Allessandra just get the spell caster down first."
He let off two arrows at Shaman.

Rising quickly from her reverie, it was a good thing she'd gone to bed early, Authiel quickly chanted her favorite spell and sent a pair of magical missiles of energy towards the spellcaster, hoping to disrupt him as well as hurt him.

09:19, Today: Authiel Hannasiel rolled 7 using 2d4+2. MM.   +3 for Warmage Edge for a total of 10 Damage

Now...that was round 2's action, right?

Re: The Twilight Tomb: The Rains Fell On Furthinghome

Two swords appeared in the gnoll's hand, and like claws he slashed them across Gurgun's abdomen. It was only by the monk's quick slide an inch back that he avoided disembowlment. Behind the Oghmyte, the other gnoll swayed and staggered helplessly, lost to the world.

Slove quick-fired two shafts at the shaman; one clattered off his heavy armour, the other pierced his doggy ear. He howled in rage, only to receive an arcane blast in his snout, courtesy of Authiel. ]6 damage to Jorn]

The gnoll menacing Allessandra bared its lips to display wicked brown fangs. Pink tongue lolling, it lashed out with his axe and caught the priestess a nasty gash across her arm. [5 damage to Allessandra]

Slove quick-fired two shafts at the shaman; one clattered off his plate, the other pierced his ear. The gnoll howled in rage, only to receive an arcane blast in the snout courtesy of Authiel.

Glaring evilly at the one who'd dared curse him earlier, the shaman waved a clawed fist at Iodaem, then clutched it tight like a fist around his heart. [Private to Iodaem: DC 14 Will save. Success means you're shaken for 1 round. Failure means you're frightened for 1d4 rounds.]

He still want take down the shaman but a second hit on Allessandra is to much.  He turn his arrow on to the creature firing both shots at it.

The gnoll ignored Slove's taunts, only to continue harrassing Allessandra. Even after she smacked it across the snout with her mace, the weak blow barely distracted him, let alone discouraged him. It was only when Slove put two arrows in his back that he got his attention.

Staying close to her friend and protector, Authiel again let loose with her favorite little spell, feeling just a bit unsteadier than normal because of whatever spell the shaman had cast upon them.  She didn't try to discern what it was right now, though she had a guess, it wasn't really important.

While keeping an eye on his yet unharmed foe, Gurgun spins his quarterstaff around before letting it come down hard over the skull of his stunned foe.
You're next. He says, matter of factly, as he raises his staff again for his next move.
Gurgun feels they need to end the fight fairly soon, with that many wounded on their side. Ioadem's departure does nothing to sooth that impression.

Re: The Twilight Tomb: The Rains Fell On Furthinghome

With a meaty thack!, Gurgun brained the gnoll and laid him out cold on the ground. Briefly, little birdies could be seen flapping in circles around its sore head.

The gnoll scout growled at the Seeker, and lashed out with both blades, one easily avoided, the other following behind and striking Gurgun in the arm as he defended against the first. [6 damage to Gurgun]

With Jorn retreating and Iodaem, the second gnoll warrior looked about for a new target. Seeing the elf-witch blasting his shaman, he barked in fury and pelted after her unprotected back. But the elf-maiden heard the noise and turned around and dodged just in time, allowing the axe to pass within inches of her.

The last gnoll warrior sprinted off after the other pesky elf who'd been putting arrows in his back. But this left the delicate priestess at his back. The gnoll hardly thought her worth worrying about, but immediately regretted it when she buried her mace in the back of his skull. The gnoll dropped like a ton of bricks, whimpering over a bruised head and ego.

The gnoll shaman raised his jaws to the sky and let rip a blood-curdling howl. Boiling out of the air beside Gurgun came a mass of chains, stained blood-red and covered in jagged spikes and blades. The chains began to twist and writhe and spin, faster and faster like a spinning saw. It swung around in a strike that would have removed his head, had Gurgun not nimbly ducked beneath. But again it began to edge closer and closer.

Finally, the gnoll shaman took a few steps forwards, ready to take the field.

Round 4:

Gnoll Ranger is in melee with Gurgun, as is the Spiritual Weapon spell. Gnoll 4 is in melee with Authiel. Gnolls 3 and 5 are unconscious. Gnoll Shaman is still outside. Everyone else is wherever they want to be.

Initiative:

22 - Gnoll Shaman
19 - Allessandra
19 - Jorn
12 - Slove
11 - Gurgun
11 - Gnoll Ranger
 7 - Authiel
 7 - Iodaem
 5 - Gnolls

Gnoll Shaman: moderately wounded
Gnoll Ranger: unharmed
Gnoll 3: unconscious
Gnoll 4  unharmed
Gnoll 5: unconscious

OOC: Screwed up my rolls completely. Either take the first roll (QS attack) and deduce 2 for flurry of blows/stunning fist #1, or take the two following rolls. Fooled by the autofill feature...!

Gurgun dodges the incoming attacks and goes on the offensive against the gnoll ranger; striking twice against him only to find the Gnoll a wee bit harder to hit than his packmate sprawled on the ground next to him.

Nail the shaman, now! He shouts in between blows and feints.
