On the defensive now, Authiel backed away as she carefully cast a more powerful spell, needing to quickly rid herself of her attacker.  Rays of flame burst from her fingertips as she anxiously watched to see if her spell had helped her cause any.

Casting defensively.

Slove winks at Allessandra with big smiles on his face.  It seems his plan work.  Drawing the gnoll of her and letting her have good go at creature.
He can now put more effort into dealing with the shaman.
Two arrows are fired at the creature hoping to reduce it life further.

Allessandra can see Jorn fighting defensively and the blood pouring from his wounds. She is going to select a path that hopefully keeps her out of harm's way and begin to magically bind his wounds. When she reaches Jorn, she quickly weaves her hands in binding motions over his wounds and pleads to the Mornlinglord to carry out her will and heal Jorn from his vicious wounds.

20:01, Today: Allessandra rolled 15 using 2d8+3 with rolls of 7,5. CMW.

OOC: move action to get to Jorn, standard to cast CMW on him.

Re: The Twilight Tomb: The Rains Fell On Furthinghome

Crossing his blades in front of his face, the gnoll ranger quick-stepped forwards for another assault. He lowered the wicked blades and whipped them out in a scissoring strike that opened Gurgun's belly. A finger-tip closer in and he would have been disemboweled, he realized dimly over the screaming pain.

But the bloody injury distracted him, for the enchanted flail circled in behind him and struck, the spiked mass of metal nearly scalping him and cracking his skull. [24 damage to Gurgun.]

Over by Authiel, the gnoll warrior made a few experimental swipes at the mage as she cast a spell. But a slash on the arm didn't stop her or slow her down. [4 damage to Authiel.]

The gnoll shaman advanced, one paw stepping after the other, and set his jagged flail to spinning, around and around. He seemingly ignored all attacks that came his way: Slove's arrows bounced harmless off armour, the conjured beetle nipped harmless at his flanks, and Authiel's ray of fire burst onto his chest plate, erupted into flames and left him unharmed. Briefly, the gnoll's eyes burned bright in the fire-light, and the drool falling from his fangs glistened redly.

Now he howled and broke into a run, sprinting across the field with Jorn in his sights. He came on him like a wild dog, and smashed the flail atop him, snarling in fury. [9 damage to Jorn. Good thing Alle just healed you.]

Round 5:

Gnoll Ranger is in melee with Gurgun, as is the Spiritual Weapon spell. Gnoll 4 is in melee with Authiel. Gnolls 3 and 5 are unconscious. Gnoll Shaman is in melee with Jorn. Everyone else is wherever they want to be.

Re: The Twilight Tomb: The Rains Fell On Furthinghome

Gurgun is critically wounded now, and only his monk training and disciplin keeps him on his feet. Using his superior agility and acrobatic skills he weaves and tumbles around the gnoll ranger to avoid the blades and the conjured flail. He attempts an attack of his own, but with his strength nearly failing him he badly misses the gnoll.

OOC: Fighting defensively, 5 ranks of tumble gives +3 to AC (22 vs ranger, 21 vs all others), attack (8) miss.

Re: The Twilight Tomb: The Rains Fell On Furthinghome

The gnoll harassing Authiel suddenly arched its back, yelped, then tumbled to the floor. Two arrows had sprouted in its back, planted there by Slove and his powerful bow.

Staggering back from the shaman's brutal blow, Jorn just managed to activate his wand in an underarm shot. The magical bolts blasted it in the belly, and the shaman yelped and staggered. Perhaps now the shaman, with his unholy toughness, was beginning to weary.

Meanwhile, Jorn's conjured beetle scuttled in closer and nipped at the shaman's heels. However, the mandibles slipped off the gnoll's thick skin and greasy fur.

The ranger advanced on Gurgun, waving and swinging his swords in a complicated weaving pattern, in, out, around, up, down. Where had he learned to fight like? Entranced, Gurgun missed the strike that snuck in over his defenses. The hard edge of the sword's pommel banged down into his head, sending his world spinning. [Nonlethal strike, -4 attack. Attack 23, crit threatened but not confirmed. Gurgun takes 9 nonlethal damage and falls unconscious. I intended this from the start, so this isn't charity. :) ]

OOC: Next up - Authiel!

Gnoll Shaman: badly wounded
Gnoll Ranger: unharmed
Gnoll 3: unconscious
Gnoll 4: unconscious
Gnoll 5: unconscious

Ranger or Shaman.  This is such a hard thing for Slove to decide.  It comes to elf.  If the shaman does down the leave Ranger.   One ranger against this group would not be so hard as slove himself is unhurt.
Anyway Slove hates arcane casters and to put one down would make him just little happier.

Seeing that Slove was taking care of the gnolls' caster, Iodaem decided to go for their second-most dangerous combattant, and raising his blade high, he charged towards the ranger, cutting down with lots of power yet little accuracy, a strike that would likely have killed an average gnoll. . .  but this one was not average.

Since her last spell hadn't seemed to work, Authiel went back to her old standby, further backing away from the battle to cast in relative safety.  Again she sent her spell, not needing to aim, at the spellcaster to help bring him down as quickly as possible.  Once her spell was complete, she nodded her thanks to the one who had rid her of her dangerous attacker.

Re: The Twilight Tomb: The Rains Fell On Furthinghome

Iodaem sliced his sword down upon the gnoll ranger, and surprised by his own good fortune, tore open a section of its arm. But this night Beshaba was surely toying  with him, for he hadn't noticed the conjured flail weapon that spun its way through the air and tore into his back before vanished altogether. [8 damage to Iodaem.]

Yet again Authiel blasted the shaman, and yet again he still stood, supported by his unholy vigor.

Enraged, he swung his brutal flail around in a great arc, hoping to clear a bloody path through the foes that piled on him. The beetle was smashed, its carapace cracked and ichor leaked out. [Jorn: 9 damage to your beetle. I don't know what type it is.]

The shaman of a demon-god advanced on Jorn, his flail swinging ready for another, final, strike. The dwarf blasted him again, and he still he came. Even the beetle made a valiant effort, nipping at his heels despite its injuries. The shaman raised his flail high...

An arrow rammed itself in his throat. The gnoll shaman gurgled, surprised, as blood flowed from his maw. Then the next arrow embedded itself in his eye. The shaman choked once, then fell backwards, hitting the turf with a mighty smash. [Slove slays the evil shaman!]

Only the gnoll ranger remained standing now, his blades twirling and his eyes filled with vengeance.

Next: Allessandra!

Gnoll Ranger is in melee with Iodaem. Everyone else is wherever they want to be.
