Anyway, I'm not fussed. If a hole needs filling, I can oblige.

Illi is pretty smart, too. ;) And she does need to figure out how to use her Alter Self ring...

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

Okay.  Here's what I have in mind.

1.  All in one group.  If Deepwalker was about then we'd have enough to make two groups of four, split conveniently between the Thayans and the Psychic Underdarkers (plus Alec).  But he's not, and the numbers will help buffer the discrepancy between the high level and low level characters.

2.  A homebrew adventure: No Laughing Matter.  The gnomes of the Dragonjaw Mountains in Thesk hold an annual joke contest with two copper dragons.  The younger of the two, Kyeshyggenal, is a frequent visitor.  This year he arrived early to play a game of hide and seek with the gnomes.  The dragon is given six hours to hide somewhere in the caves and tunnels of the surrounding mountains then teams of gnomes set out to find him.

These games can last days, so it was only when Kyesh did not re-emerge for the joke contest that the gnomes started to worry.  The search parties have returned empty handed, the elder dragon, Narumphunem, is very upset and the contest was a write-off.  The gnomes are asking for help in finding Kyesh.

The Thayan group is there on behalf of their master negotiating for an alchemical formula known to the gnomes.  The gnomes have indicated they would look favourably on the request if you help find Kyesh.

The joke contest is a well-known in the gnomish community and fortunately Schnickle's travels brought him close at the right time to visit.  Schnickle is a welcome guest amongst his racial cousins as are any with him.

Alec (a bard, yes?) was there to entertain the guests at the celebrations and to enjoy the jokes.  He can smell a tale in the making: Seeker Schmeezle and the Lost Dragon.

I'll wait at least till morning for any feedback.  If people are interested I'll reconfigure group 5 to host the game.

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

I didn't have time to read through all that (I will later today, though), but I just thought I'd point out that Schnicklegulp and Alec is played by the same player, DM BadCatMan.  So, I think only one of them could join in the adventure, not both.

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

Yeah, just one. :)

I honestly don't mind if I play or not. If an extra is needed, I can help, but I think Fletch will have plenty with the Thayan crew as it is, and they're already a 'team'.

Also note we are hoping this is short and sweet (And Vallah comes back soon).  So that when Vallah comes back, this will wrap up quickly...

Dammit, BadCatMan, how many alter egos do you have floating around here anyway? :)

Oh well, Illianka's still welcome to join in if she wants.  And a deep gnome would fit in just fine, particularly if you went with the Ranger option...

Not as many as I do, I'm sure.  :p

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

DM Fletch:
Speaking of which: Darkchylde, did you want to take the Thayvian refugees if enough cross over to keep that group together?  I could set something up for the other orphans.

Yeah I could keep that group together. I don't get the cross over reference though; I thought this was just to keep them busy while we find another DM for the region? I have a flexible, if a bit contrived adventure for the orphans.

It’s a basic Defend the Town scenario; it will be puzzle solving (who is behind the attacks and why), Combat (duh) and some RP opportunities. I hoping to use this forum to allow the orphans to get a feel for their characters and work out how they will operate as unit. It will also make integrating and removing players very easy.

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

I just meant that enough of them 'transfer' their characters into the orphanage for the time being.  I completely agree that the idea is to keep them busy in the hope that Vallah will reappear soon.

Kanas, who's the infidel Mulhorandi bard??

It sounds like we have two games ready to roll so that's handy.

Kamil.  He himself isn't Mulhorandi.  He's a transplant.  But he's been called infidel by Sebezim.  Well, Sebezim actually didn't call him infidel, but he implied it.

I'm good for either, I think. So, who wants some? *Grin* I'm assassin-trained, but I can track and look after myself too.

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

I know it's only been a day and a half since my game suggestion, but since I haven't heard a strong preference (and because I'm keen to get a game started here), I'm now going to be a little autocratic.
*gets a mental image of a halfling dressed as Napoleon*

Darkchylde, if you would please start your game for the Thayans.  If you need help with number-crunching etc just let me know.

I will keep working with Illianka to get a second game up.  Kamil and Schnickle/Alec are welcome but it would still be good to have a few others.

Well, the infidel bard (Kamil) will only show up as a filler.  Hopefully someone else who actually needs/wants the slot takes it.

Ok I'm doing it now. I have some connection issues because I haven’t gotten back my internet connection at home since the hurricane, so my posting may be erratic for a few more days.

We're all GMs, so we should see every group, heh. . .  I gave Isiah and Jyslyn access to post there, but I'm not going to have anything up before tomorrow, or something.  Right now, I'm still bummed out about today's football game.  :-(

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

Well, I can.

I'll pick up Wand of Lesser Vigor, Scroll of Protection from Evil to start.  Let me see if I want a couple more scrolls.

Also, one thing.  I've prepared Spell of 'Close Wounds'.  It's a immediate action spell that heals at range.  I'd like you to cast the spell for me whenever I see the group member actually go down.  The spell actually prevents some of the damage (thus preventing going unconscious/death), but since it's an immediate action, it's easier if you decide when to be cast for me.

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

Spell Compendium p.48  Note also, if I have any turn-attempt left, I'd like you to apply Divine Spellpower onto it.

CLOSE WOUNDS
Conjuration (Healing)
Level: Cleric 2
Components: V
Casting Time: 1 immediate action
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One creature
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will half (harmless);
see text
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)
Your ally falls from a crushing blow, but you don’t have time to reach him. You quickly speak words of power, and the worst of his injuries glow golden and begin to heal.

This spell cures 1d4 points of damage +1 point per caster level (maximum +5). If you cast this spell immediately after the subject takes damage, it effectively prevents the damage. It would keep alive someone who had just dropped to –10 hit points, for example, leaving the character at negative hit points but stable. Used against an undead creature, close wounds deals damage instead of curing the creature (which takes half damage if it makes a Will saving throw).
