No problem!  I don't need anything fancy.  I'm happy with a hand drawn sketch.  Just gives me a solid visual perspective to post from.  Thanks!

Hey I put into that post by way of introduction. Feel free to ask any questions you have IC at this time if you need clarification on anything. It is assumed that your characers know nothing of the second half of the post thats just for you the player.

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

Oh yeah, I"ve been meaning to pick up a range weapon.  Let me pick up a light crossbow and bolts.

Everyone who doesn't have a range attack should do so right now.  We are beseiged and inside the keep.  We'll have plenty of opportunity to sit behind the wall and take some pot shots at greenskins, even if you are not very good at it.

I have a heavy crossbow by way of ranged weapons.  Melee is my forte though...

I'm ready. Git 'er done!

By the way, Grom will change weapons to the Heavy Crossbow and perpare it for firing, putting away his waraxe and shield while we're just standing around talking.

Yeah, I'm sort of keep waiting for Jyslyn and Isiah to drop in, but otherwise, I'm ready.

Speaking of which, let me grab a longspear as well.

So, I take it I can rearrange my spells?  Is it going to be new day?

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

I've got several, but I'm not sure if I want to burn any XPs. . .  don't have a whole lot of GPs, anyway.  Since this game here is only temporary, I'm not going to be using any expendable items, anyway, that's just going to be a big headache when we go back to Thay, I think.

Anyway, assuming I don't keep forgetting that I'm supposed to check this part of RoA again, I'll post something here in the morning.

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

Well, I figure any consumables we use, we can pay the cash value and still retain it in the Thay game.  That way, we are only adjusting the cash on hand which shouldn't affect the Thay game.

I'll be playing this campaign like any other and spending consumables when I think it's needed.  And just adjust the cash.

Yes, well, that works fine if you've got cash to spend. . .  me, not so much.  :p  23 GPs doesn't buy you much of anything. . .

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

Hey guys don’t sweat it. This isn’t a regular game and I don’t really want you doing anything that will alter your Sheet for the Thay game one bit.

I figured you would have separate sheets; one here and one in the Thay region. Any adjustments you make her shouldn’t be made on the Thay region; that goes without saying right.

I had also planned to make items and equipment available to you through the Army. That way you get to use a lot of equipment but you don’t own any of it. I’m still not sure that you should be able to carry XPs from here to there. This region will be combat heavy for the most part so you will earn a lot XPs which you can use in turn to create items, the GP cost for the items would be absorbed by the army and likewise, any items that still function when you are done here would stay here in the keeps armory.

That’s what I had planned, so feel free to make anything you need, like scrolls. I suggest writing lots of those.

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

Eh, you might want to think about the equipment issue you are giving us, then.

I mean, if you are letting us use things like scrolls and wands for free, I and Isiah probably would want like 100s of those to just burn through *laugh*.  Or, do we have to write those ourselves?  Can I not get the protection from evil scrolls I sort of wanted, then?

Give us some sort of guide line?  Like 1000gps worth of 'consumables' (scrolls, wands, etcs), double if we can craft ourselves (Since you'd spend only half as much when you craft), and such.

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

LOL.

It’s not going be an unlimited supply. You will be issued the equipment on an as needed basis. You can request anything you want but that does not mean you will get it or the amount that you requested.

You can scribe yourself of course, I mean how many scrolls can you scribe in 20 days? How many Scrolls will your XP allow you to write? These little things will keep it balanced.

This is group is my little pet project as I try to work out certain game mechanics and familiarize myself with combat and spell rules. I’ve been away for so long certain rules have evaporated from my memory. But I still remember how to keep things balanced and I can’t jolly well throw you to wolves without so much as dagger to defend yourself (figuratively speaking of course).

I would really love to talk to someone about what I have in mind but typing it here in an attempt to explain it is pointless as I have trouble expresses myself with the written word. However I would be happy call any or all of you to talk about it. Luckily I can call several countries for free thanks to me working for my telephone company. If you would like further clarification email me and I’ll call you or add me to msn and I’ll explain through that medium.

Re: Main OOC & Game Discussion

I'm at work so I can't make a phone call and talk about D&D at the moment *laugh*

Well, crafting wise, 20 days will give crafters to create things that's worth 20000gps total, up to 20 items.

But I don't have any crafting feats.  So I'm not getting the scrolls I wanted then?  I'm getting confused :P

I'm in Boston, MA, US.  I won't be home for several hours, and I also have to watch MNF (Pats are playing, and I also have Ocho Cinco on my FF team.)

With our regular region starting up again under new management, I think I'm going to delete Isiah from here - doesn't look like anything's about to happen here, anytime soon, anyway.
