The music box can record sounds. When you open the lid and utter the command word "Memory" in Elven, it starts recording. It stops recording when the lid is closed. You can record up to 30 minutes in one sitting, but if you record again, everything that was recorded last time will be erased. It can record the verbal components of spells as well as sonic-based effects of creatures such as harpies.

The music the music box played when Caitlin opened it is part of the music box itself and not its magical effect. And you recognize that music, it is Silvanesti in origin! As is the design of the music box. But you're not familiar with such things and you don't know the music or the music box beyond that.

The prism is a burnt out ioun stone that has been enchanted with continual flame, so it will revolve around your head and provide the light of a torch, if you want to use it for that purpose.

At least a couple of PCs know about this, but just to make sure that everyone knows:
¤ Corrupted Tear of Mishakal - Any good character who holds or attempts to use the corrupted Tear of Mishakal gains two negative levels for as long as they do so and they cannot use it. So that may have some impact on who is going to hold it or use it.

 Caitlin can take the music box, she will use it to accompany her singing. She already carries all the non-claimed stuff, so it would be nice if somebody else stepped up. Caitlin has proficiency with longswords and simple weapons, so a short sword is not on the list. With one the new people being fighter they might be the right recipient of the artifact.

And Kora already has the dragonlance, so it might be good to divide the artifacts.

But when Keliantharas picked up the Shard of Light, it turned into a long knife. So who knows what would happen.

Makes sense to me - no sense powerful items not being used!

Tal can carry the book - he's a reader in any event, as the party knows.

If just carrying the corrupted Tear is -2 levels, unless we have someone more neutral-minded, ouch.  Sorry - Ouch, Ouch.
Being frank, I'm not keen on carrying -2 levels!!, but Tal's likely the least important, compared to the casters.
If anyone knew how to carry it safely, that would be immeasurably better.

Carry it in a Bag of Holding or something similar. Then it resides in a pocket dimension and might not hit you with -2 levels. Or have a strong Familiar carry it

I have moved the Shard of Light to Caitlin and it transformed into a longsword for her.

I moved the burnt journal to Talrand.
