Naming Conventions

Just in case people apply for official Faction races, here are the naming conventions for the races.

Races covered here:
-Aqulan
-Barrakian
-Blissian
-Coalwren
-Grenu

Aqulan
Unlike their language, Aqulan names do not repeat at the end. Their names are usually one syllable, but exceptions are not too uncommon.

(Male names)
Heeyo
Ka
Sho

(Female names)
Oo
Pera
Wa

Barrakian
Male names just sound harsh. The "K" sound is present in all of them.
Female names always have an apostrophe and always have the "ah" sound in them.

(Male names)
Hakkof
Kurok
Tharcon
Xykic

(Female names)
H'nal
K'shasa
R'nar
T'shock

Blissian
Blissians have a strongly gender-neutral society and as such, any name applies to either gender. Their names are derived from their language and have some form of love or friendship implied. Some appear to be exceptions (such as Billy, Kelsie and Patrick) but are simply either blissian words that sound like familiar common names, or are "adopted" names for being among non-blissian folk (Such as Roger "Mr X", whose real name is Xalitron).

Example names:
Held (Means "to court", date, or hold an appointment)
Injer (Means "of Blissians")
Thux (Means "Neighbors")
Y'naro (Means "Hello")

Coalwren
Coalwren language is composed entirely of three-letter words. This includes their names. Some names (Such as Nmn which means "Purity") get translated to the common tongue for the sake of non-coalwren who for the most part may have issues pronouncing such a name. But other names (Such as Zul which means "Treasure") are left be due to ease of pronunciation. For help with naming a Coalwren, feel free to contact the GM as there is no phonic way to know if a name a male or female.

Deksharr
Deksharr names have a long version and a short version. This goes back some millennia to a time when Deksharr self-importance was reflected through how long their names were (which was kept from going out of hand by certain rules like what composed a name). However, common convenience soon demanded a shortened version of such names. But as time went on, having both became tradition. Deksharr names can be pretty much anything in the short version since the long version can sound pretty odd and the short version can easily sound like common names from all over the star cluster (Thus there are "traditional" short names and "modern" short names). Either way, the short version always uses the beginning and middle parts of the long name in order to form the more common names.

(Male only)
Gavul (long name: Gavinalevularinathitus)
Traditional version short name: Gavinal or Galar
Karol (long name: Kadolimnurolitnimoureous)
Traditional version short name: Kadol or Kalit

(Female only)
Deborah (long name: Debiyuntoralinah)
Traditional version short name: Debiyu or Detor
Miya (long name: Milanitromyanoliakrina)
Traditional version short name: Milanit or Mino

Male naming rules:
"Ron" is a name suffix that means "Enduring"
"Os" is a name suffix that means "Strong"
"Oj" is a rare name suffix meaning "Feisty"

The "eye" sound in a name means "Smart"
The "ee" sound in a name means "Wise"
