Who's Who

**** MUST KNOW

This is the list of people you have to know. If you were an alien from the far reaches of space, you would probably hear about these people soon after your arrival. If you were a hermit, same story. But let me know if you wish to start your character not knowing anything about who's who.

Doug Pinnik

Emperor of Planet Neplusultra and consiquently, the Alliance.

Planet Neplusultra is essentially the self-appointed "Capital" planet of the Neo System. It's one of the larger planets in the star cluster and produces a LOT of commerse. Doug not only rules over this planet as it's monarch, but as a result rules over the "Strife Alliance" which is often nicknamed "The Federation" because of it's strong military and vast resources. The SA is a united effort of Neplusultra and many planets througout the star cluster to keep peace in the cluster. Due to Neplusultra being the head of that organization, Doug is essentially the head individual of the SA.

Not much is known about Doug personally. He's always calm, collected, and never seems to have an emotional response to anything one way or another. What is known is that the policies of the SA and especially Neplusultra are almost direct reflections of Doug's opinions.

Ollen Castrophie

Richest buisnessman in the star cluster.

Ollen is a very kindly buisnessman who has many charities of his own and supports fledgling charities. He also has a vacation planet in his area of space that produces a LOT of money for his organization "Castrophie Corp". Castrophie Corp is a large organization that provides absolutely anything a person could ask for in this area of space. Need a part that is no longer produced? Castrophie Corp will have it, garunteed.

There are rumors that Ollen also offers more blackmarket items and dirty deals, but most people don't believe such silly rumors due to his kind-hearted outlook and the fact he has so many non-profit organizations and charities. But one thing he is recorded as saying is "Whatever you like.. for a price."

Dominus

Recently deceased emperor of the space pirates.

Dominus used to be the biggest threat to the Strife Cluster due to his rulership over every known pirate organization. But when he lost his life at the hands of Tom Catze, the pirates he once had a hold on dispersed into the five leaders that are present now.

Dominus was also known to be a name that was equated with evil. He was feared and hated by both his allies and his enemies. While he may be dead now, people still talk about him much like people still talk about Hitler in real life today (though imagine how much Hitler must have been talked about in the 50's).

Tom Catze

Captain of the SA starship Niven.

Captain Catze (also referred to as Captain Tom due to his informal approach) is a very iconic person now that he has effectively "rescued the star cluster" according to propiganda. He shot and killed Emperor Dominus, effectively ending the war Dominus was about to wage with the cluster. Due to Dominus bragging that he had learned the secrets of Base 3, everyone was convinced Dominus was going to rule the star cluster in a matter of just a few years. So to everyone except the pirates, Tom is a saviour. Though many pirates like Tom as well due to the fact everyone under Dominus' control hated Dominus.

Tom is very informal, as mentioned before. Thanks to this, he makes many appearances on TV and at places he is invited to. He is always humble and happy when around anyone, making word spread that Tom is not only a hero, but a very noble, kind person.

GROUPS

Night Dreamers

An evil group of people, if you can call them people anymore. The Night Dreamers are talked about in the same way you and I might talk about zombies and ghosts. People from the SA don't believe they exsist and think them some kind of folk lore. But people from Tharian cultures believe the Night Dreamers are real. You don't decide to join them... they recruit you when they see fit. Think of it as a legion of undead serving a single vampire. They are not walking dead, however. They are simply very dark individuals who control the darkness as a deadly weapon, wielding jedi-like powers.

The Underground

This is a group of people from all origins who seperate themselves from nationality or patriotism to any one race or planet. Their purpose: Justice. Having seen too much corruption in their lives, the people who join the underground are USUALLY people who were burned by corruption in the very organization they used to put much faith in. For example, the imfamous Philip Willis is a member of the Underground and joined them due to finding his family dead at the hands of SA soldiers for knowing SA secrets. Being a member of this group does not require that you have some dark past of witnessing corruption first hand, but it does require a devotion to seeing justice done and bringing corruption down... no matter WHERE it's found. That said, the members of the Underground even look for corruption in the Underground itself and swiftly root it out. The Underground also hunts down unpunished criminals. Anyone who gets off scott free in any justice system for doing something hurrendous like murder, rape, or other such crimes often times disappear and are never heard from again. This... is the work of the Underground. They have a great deal of intel on every organization, faction and planet in the cluster... mostly intel on corruption wherever it exsists.

Gynomb

Black cats, for all intents and purposes. Long ago, refugees from a planet called Gynomb landed on the planets Pirace, Tavern and Tharia. Referring to themselves as "The People of Gynomb", that became their title from then on with Gynomb being the short version. Nobody had seen black cats up until then and due to the superstition so abundant in that area of space, a large percentage were xenophobic towards the Gynomb. The Gynomb, consiquently, wound up forming a "secret" organization called PG (Protectors of Gynomb) for protecting their own kind. Though really, the only thing secret about it is where their meetings are held and how you become a member. It is widely known you do not commit hate crimes against the Gynomb (Such as purposely killing a Gynomb simply because he's a Gynomb) or else their brethren from the PG will silence you. For this reason, the slightly derrogatory slang for a Gynomb is "PG."

THE FIVE ETERNITY LORDS
Called such because they are the top rulers in the Eternity System (Named after it's star: The Eternity Star), these five are often referred to among Neplusultrans as the five Pirate Lords even though not all of them control pirate activity.

Angel Bard

Lord of Planet Tharia, the Tharian Empire and Base 3.

Angel is one of the five Eternity Lords. Often referred to as "The Shadow Lord", the masses do not know what this lord looks like. All that is known is that Angel doesn't even show up at the meetings that the pirate lords hold. Rather, the face everyone sees is Angel's second hand man Garner. Garner is a very serious individual and does not laugh or relax in public.

Pedro Sickler

Lord of Planet Tavern and head of the Sickler armada.

Pedro is one of the five Eternity Lords. He rules over the planet Tavern and has a small space army of his own to protect it. He is known to be a fair ruler and seems to be a fun loving kind of guy who often throws parties. Very down to earth, Pedro is loved by his people and few fear him. However, he is not above dark deeds and is very willing to do whatever it takes to protect his assets.

Victor Omen

Lord of the Omen armada.

While Victor is one of the five Eternity Lords, he does not have a planet to his name and was a driving force for many alien members of Dominus' army. Now that Dominus is not around, Victor is in charge of any portion of that army that was not under the command of the other pirate lords. The number is staggering, however. Upwards of ten billion men and women serve Victor.

The rumors about Victor are that he is insane. While partly true, he isn't crazy. He would not still be the lord of the Omen armada if he had completely lost his sanity, but he enjoys putting on a show of being a total nutjob.

Nick Lockman

Lord of Planet Pirace and the Lockman Empire.

Nick is one of the five Eternity Lords. He rules over the planet Pirace, which is known for turning out the most space pirates of all the planets. His army of pirates are more organized than the other pirates. His son Rocky is his second hand man, indicating that Nick intends to keep leadership in the family, unlike the other lords.

Tharcon

Lord of Planet Coal and the Coalwren Armada.

Tharcon is one of the five Eternity Lords. Not much is known about the Coalwren or their lord Tharcon except that the Coalwren were once enslaved and Tharcon came to free them. Tharcon is also not a Coalwren.. rather, he is a Barakian. Tall for a Barakian, he stands an intimidating seven feet and six inches. He is thick and wears a mask on his face to hide his real appearance. Some say it's because of a burn. Others say it's just for confidentiality so he can continue to visit his home planet Barak without being recognized as one of the pirate lords.

[5 blank lines suppressed]

Henry Thomas Nanul

The man who built Base 3.

While he is not alive today, Henry is possibly the most famous blissian to date, save for Ultrus, the original. Henry was responsible for the construction of Base 3, which is a construct surrounded by legends and mystery.
