Perversity Points: In Paranoia, you have a certain number of perversity points given to you, and which you can earn.

Perversity points are used to influence the effect of rolls.  Lets give an example:

Player A:  I fire at the lead traitor.  I have a 10 Violence, so I need a 10 or less to hit!
Player B: No, you don't.  I'm spending 2 perversity points to reduce that to 8.
Player A: You commie bastard!
Player C: Okay, with that comment, three points from me to make it a 5!
PLayer A: Betrayer!
Player D: 2 points to make it a 3.
Player E: Nothing from me.
Player F: I think this is a noble and patriotic act.  I spend 5 to raise it to an 8!
Player A: Yes, you are a true friend to the Computer.  I spend 5 myself to raise it to a 13.

The GM, as you can see, may not make many adjustments to the to hit score since the players are doing it for him, and the GM can retrofit the effect to fit the final situation created by the players.

You earn perversity points throughout the game through your roleplaying, but don't count on them for everything.  They will just pop up and surprise you sometimes.

For example:

Your character does something brave but foolish...you get 1 perversity point!!

Your character convinces someone else to do something brave but foolish...you get 2 perversity points!!

We will keep a running tally of your perversity points in your special secret thread.  Sometimes points will be awarded so everyone can see, and sometimes in secret.

USING PERVERSITY POINTS:  To use your points, in your post include a PRIVATE LINE to me indicating how many points you want to kick in.  Usually I allow 24 hours before rolling to give everyone a chance to pitch in.

If you want, you may also state PUBLICLY how many perversity points you are kicking in.  That may win you friends with some and enemies with others, so use that method strategically.
