Re: CORMYR: OOC Forum

I think this is a great way to get to know the people we are gaming with. That would be you, the ones reading and writing... :)  Everyone, if you'd like (i.e. strictly optional), give us a brief summary of yourself, what you do for a living, where you live, and anything else you'd like to share...

I'll start it off. My real name is Eddie and I currently live in Hendersonville, TN, which is about 20min north of Nashville. I was born and raised in Tampa, FL and I'm a big Buc's fan and fan of the NFL in general. I'm 35, married and have two boys 8 and 9 years old. I work at Ingersoll-Rand as a Network Admin, which means if everything is running smooth I have time to respond to posts during the day, more often than at night when I'm with the family. I served in the US Navy as a Nuclear Power Tech - machinist mate on the USS Spadefish SSN668, a fast attack submarine out of Norfolk, VA. I was in from 1986-1992, we had just left the Mediterranean from a 6 month tour, a few weeks before the first Gulf War started. I had plenty of interesting stories during the Navy, but I won't bore anyone with those.. ;) I've been gaming, mostly with D&D, but also some SciFi games off and on for about 20 years.

Re: CORMYR: OOC Forum

Ummm my turn now.

My real name is Erik, I'm a french canadian Quebecers from Hull, Quebec. I curently work for Compaq, now HP. I'm 22, live with my girlfriend for 4-5 years now and father of a little 2 months old girl. I started playing D&D a year ago and never stopped since. I recently quit a game because i was fed up with the Dm, he didn't know half the rules and made stupid ruling all the time, so i quit, started my own campaign on a more open concept style(no railroading) and all his great. I started Dming 6 months ago but had to stop because of the baby, but now that she's old enough to sleep all night, i have plenty of time to create story/adventures/plots ,etc.

Oo i forgot to mention that when i quit the other Dm game 3 weeks ago, half the team folowed me, they were all happy to find another game to join...

That's about it!

Re: CORMYR: OOC Forum

My name is Eric. I am 31 years old with a wife and a two year old daughter. I live in the St. Louis area and am a huge Rams/Cardinals/Blues fan. I am an RN at a major metro hospital and spend my free time gaming.

I served in the Army from 1990-1993 in Schweinfurt Germany. I was an M1a1 tank crewman (not very glamorous, unless you find being covered head to toe in mud sexy).

I play this game, a shadowrun game, two vampire games and DM a Greyhawk D&D game online. As for tabletop games, currently I am not running anything but my gaming group rotates games and gamemasters. We gather weekly on Mondays (and have for about three and half years) and on Wednesday (that group has been together for about 15 years[obviously I was away from them for a while]).

I tabletop GM D&D, Star Wars and Shadowrun (although I am now getting revved up to run Call of Cthulhu).

Re: CORMYR: OOC Forum

My name is Garrett and I'm 37 years old.  I was afraid that I was the waaaayyy old man.  There are other oldies here too :)

I have three kids, agaes 6,4,2.  Last year my kids were all odd (5,3,1,) but now they are all even.  I live near Salt Lake City, Utah.

I work as a security guard at night while I've gone back to school during the day.  Most of my postings are in the middle of the night because that is when i work.  Since everybody is telling war stories, I was in the California National Guard for 8 years in a Field Artillery Bn.  So, mud IS sexy.

I don't game much other then a few online games.  But I am a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), which is like a cross between a Middle Ages Re-creation group and a LARP.  So, I do have a suit of armor made out of leather and metal and I hit people with rattan "swords". (I get more often then i hit others however :(   )

Re: CORMYR: OOC Forum

My name's David and I'm 30.  I'm a CPA, living in Oklahoma City, and working for a branch of state government.  I played D&D a little back in middle and high school, as well as a little 2300 AD, Star Frontiers and probably one or two other things I don't remember.  I also played non-RPGs like Car Wars & Battletech.  I kept playing miniatures-type games off and on through my many years of college, mainly Battletech, Silent Death, and more recently Vor, until the company that made it died horrily.

I used to play a lot of computer games, the Baldur's Gate series, Fallout series and Planescape: Torment being among my favorites, along with the first several Might & Magic games.  I spent a year or so addicted to Everquest, too. ;)  I played console games for several years too, though I don't play either so much anymore.  I've come to prefer the unpredictability and spontineity of interacting with actual people, and so I'm currently playing something like 10 or 12 different games here on RPOL. ;)  As well as DMing one.  I hadn't really played D&D much in years, but last October or so, I discovered OpenRPG and decided it might be fun to try RPing online.  It was, but it was kind of a pain getting everyone together for four hours at a stretch, and so when I discovered this place, I switched my affections fairly quickly.
