Re: CORMYR: OOC Forum

Last time I tried posting, RPoL messed up while posting and I lost my post.  This time, though, I thought I'd share something that happened to me less than an hour ago that has something to do with my lifestyle.

I'm 21, live in Baltimore, am an off-and-on undergraduate student (after four years, I'm still a sophomore) and work at UPS part-time.  I am an Interdisciplinary Studies major and call my custom program "Computational Game Theory and Artificial Intelligence".  My hobbies are video games, strategy board games (such as those by Avalon Hill and Eagle Games), game programming, and RPGs.  I've also recently started a semi-professional career in poker and minutes ago, I won my first tournament of the year, putting $25 of spending money in my account.

That's all.

Re: CORMYR: OOC Forum

Sorry to intrude on your wonderful game but I'm updating the Player Character Locator so if your an active player please raise your hand...or your mouse, nah you better just write a reply in this thread..I will be using the description you have posted when you click on your avatar, if there's none there I'll go into your character sheet, if I still no luck you'll be left blank(You don't want that do you?).

Thanks for your attention, you can now return to regularly scheduled programing.

Re: CORMYR: OOC Forum

To ALL Players:

Please make sure your characters have their description up to date and in the descriptions section. Also fix your bio lines as below..

BIO LINES:

All PCs' lines should read as follows:

Line 1: Init. Mod, then ACs AC/FF/TA

Line 2: Current/Max HPS, then Saves F/R/W

Like so:

 Init:+3  AC N16/F13/T13
 HPcur8/full9 /F+0/R+5/W+2

(Note the letters are not needed, but they help.)

If you have not set yours up yet, plese do so, and give yourself 30 XPs for doing so.

ACTIVE STATUS?

Also, please check to see if you are included in the roster of active PCs over in RoA: OOC's thread PC Locator.  If not, send a PM to DM GreenKnight.

TRAITS FROM UNEATHED ARCANA:

RoA is incorporating new rules for the book Unearthed Arcana  It looks like what we add will be optional, meaning if you do not wish to use the rules for your PC, you do not need to.

The first rule we are adding (besides the three PrCs from the book) are Traits.

A full list of traits:

-----------------------------------

Traits: ("Unearthed Arcana")

Abrasive (+1 on Intimidate, -1 on Diplomacy and Bluff)
Absent-Minded (+1 on Knowledge, -1 on Listen and Spot)
Aggressive (+2 initiative, -1 Armor Class)
Brawler (+1 on unarmed attacks, -1 on weapon attacks)
Cautious (+1 on unarmed attacks, -1 on weapon attacks)
Detached (+1 on will saves, -1 on reflex saves)
Dishonest (+1 on Bluff, -2 on Diplomacy; non-lawfuls)
Easygoing (+1 on Gather Information, -1 on Intimidate and Sense Motive)
Farsighted (+1 on Spot, -1 on Search)
Focused (+1 on Concentration, -1 on Spot and Listen)
Hard of Hearing (+1 on Spot, -2 on Listen)
Hardy (+1 on fortitude saves, -1 on reflex saves)
Honest (+1 on Diplomacy, -1 on Bluff and Sense Motive; no chaotic-evils)
Musclebound (+1 on all strengh checks, -1 on all dexterity checks)
Nearsighted (+1 on Search, -1 on Spot)
Nightsighted (+10 feet on darkvision, -1 on Spot in bright light)
Passionate (+1 on fortitude saves, -1 on will saves)
Plucky (+1 on will saves, -1 on fortitude saves)
Polite (+1 on Diplomacy, -2 on Intimidate)
Quick (+10 feet on movement, -1 hp/level)
Reckless (+1 on melee damage, -1 on melee "to hit")
Relentless (+2 on saves vs. tiring; if fail, are exhausted)
Saddleborn (+1 on Ride, -1 on Handle Animal)
Skinny (+1 on Escape Artist, -2 to avoid being knocked over)
Slippery (+1 on escape artist checks against being grappled, -1 all other grapple checks.)
Slow (+1 hp/level, halve movement speed)
Stout (+2 to avoid being knocked over, -1 on Escape Artist)
Suspicious (+1 on Sense Motive, -1 on Diplomacy and Intimidate)
Torpid (+1 on saves vs. enchantments, -2 on initiative)
Uncivilized (+1 on Handle Animal / Wild Empathy,-1 on Bluff, Diplomacy, Gather Information)

-------------------------------------

I will allow you to pick one or two traits from the list above to add to your PC sheet.

Traits stack, but let's not get silly and pick "Quick" and "Slow".  Also, traits can not be doubled.  No picking "Quick" twice, but a monk with "Quick" works.

Traits chosen should reflect role-playing, not roll-playing.  Meaning if I deem a trait does not seem to fit the way you have been playing your PC, I will not allow it.

You have until the first situation in which I ask you to use the dice roller in the adventure, so don't delay.  After that, you can not pick a trait.

Please list the trait(s) you are taking on your PC  in Feats.  Also give me a private line in the adventure post or here telling me what you took.  If I don't hear from you, I will assume you did not go for the Traits.

Re: CORMYR: OOC Forum

Hi all, new player here. I'll be joining you guys in the inn shortly.

I'm a 36 year old male, married with two kids (male 10, female 6). I live and work in North Carolina.

I've not played DnD for years, but I found some local guys my age and we've been playing for about 6 months and I love it. In fact thats how I found this place. Once a week just wasn't enough. Anyway, I look forward to a long adventure with you guys and I'm glad to see I not the oldest.

I am 19 (almsot 20) year old graduated stonesmith. I am soon (maybe) joining army in this summer and come back in christmas (not sure can continue during army, no clue is there net connected comp in army's free time areas). I live in Finland, in eastern side (in Pohjois-Karjala, Joensuu). I have intrested to various rpg's from 12-14 age, but I am actively only played little over half year.

But in literature wise I have readed forgotten relams books from 14-15 (not sure now when I started) and first book was "Homeland" (from dark elf trilogy). Oh, my real name will remains secret for now ;).

It's so nice for DM Mike to give us all that wonderful xp. But sadly I had to use it on another character. Don't want to waste 1000 xp if Menon will die in a few seconds (game time).

Re: CORMYR: OOC Forum

Uh, why are we all PMing the DM with our actions? I feel obligated to post mine in public, at least the none technical stuff, because you guys should know where I'm casting a spread of flames and what not.

Just wondering, I'd hate to accidentaly kill one of you, I almost did already!

Re: CORMYR: OOC Forum

The main reason is that it causes some confusion.. if you're actions take place last.. but you post before everyone else, it is easy to think your action took place already, when it hasn't and the other people posting may react to something that hasn't occured yet in game.

So I would prefer actions be PM's to avoid this problem, BUT.. since speaking in short sentences is a free action you may post publicly spoken words.. "Stand back from this spider..", "I'll take the one on the left.." etc.

Nothing, if I shoot I faint and start dying. I knew I should have bought those Cure Light Wounds Potions that nice man offered. He asked how much I had and conviently it was just enough. Too bad I had to buy that shortbow. :)

Tanith was going to ask it to come down so she could hug it and pet it and call it George, and add it to her retinue of critters.  Don't you think it'd make a nice travelling companion? ;)

Leave it up to me eh? Well on the next round I can give you a cure or kill the spider!

Yes, George is a nice name! Unlike Durliss, it probably won't lead us into a nest of these things. Did anybody besides him die yet?

Re: CORMYR: OOC Forum

I don't think so.  At least I hope not.  I didn't see anyone actually go down.  Tanith's been sort of hard-pressed, but she would have risked the AoOs if she knew anyone were actually dying (besides our guide who seemed to be pretty much instantly dead).

Re: CORMYR: OOC Forum

Oooh, could Tanith feed Menon to the last spider to gain his trust?  That would probably help ever so much if he was willing to make that sacrifice!  Of course, there's a small chance that sort of thing might go against the tenets of the Unicorn Goddess. I'll have to have Tanith check her field manual on that first. ;)
