Mike,
I don't think that you did anything wrong. The Koira incident was regretable but I don't think it resulted in loss of interest.

Re: Who's here?

I guess someone could pm the partys that quit, and ask them why.

Barring that - it's pointless to speculate why

Re: Who's here?

Yeah, I wouldn't take it personally.  You never know why people drop.  It's contagious though because most people like the interaction and when that decreases it feeds on itself.

Anyway, Hidari is basically a multiclassed Dex-Fighter type.  He relies on finesse and being hard to hit rather than brute force.  He hails from the Shining South and he has been recently discharged from the army where he served as a scout.  He can function as a fighter (read: meatshield) but utilizes stealth and cunning as much as he does his blades.  He has limited functionality as a rogue or ranger but can be a decent backup if there are no better candidates.  He has been on the road ever since leaving his homelands and seems to be always on the move possibly running to or from something.  The Dalelands are the first place where he feels he might be able to settle down.

So, we have three players. Do you want to continue with this many? I can if you want, or we can recruit more. Or I can send an NPC along for backup.

Re: Who's here?

Darton "Dart" Von Dartington grew up as the oldest sibling in his family.
His family was a wealthy and evil one with large areas of influence. The family
was run by his father, the patriarch. Darton's siblings and himself saw
(thanks to the help of the wise woman of the city with whom they often debated)
the wrong doings of their family. He no longer felt anything for his family,
only his siblings.
His two year younger brother, Lorn, and his 5 year younger sister Forana.
When they were all of age (around 16 each when they left) they all left and made
a pact to try and restore the family name to it's former glory, swearing to make
up for all the bad things the family had done over the years.

Darton left with nothing but a trusted greataxe and his horse 'Moonlight' to
live by the wilds and the road and see where life took him. His brother set out
and become a priest and his sister a dancer and singer. Who knows, someone might
find Darton someday, somewhere...

Basically, Dart is a tank. He specializes in his power attack/great cleave combo, but also uses his dual handaxes to utilize his two-weapon fighting. He will kill anything in his wake. Just try and stop him.

Re: Who's here?

Not sure how you all are used to doing combat on here, so I am going to try it the way I find works best on here. If you would rather do it another way, let me know.

Hope you enjoy the little suprise.

Re: Who's here?

Hey guys.  Work has been overbearing lately.  I need to scale back on the gaming in order to take care of things.  I still want to be able to jump back in when things slow down.  Is there any way I can be NPC'd for a couple weeks?

Unfortunately I'm going to ad to the slowness. This is the worst time of the year for me. Normally I can be counted on to post daily but between now an April 1st I'll be lucky to get in 2 or 3 posts a week. I'll be back to normal in a few weeks.

Re: Who's here?

Hullo,

Introducing Quinlan Fairfellow: Rogueish acrobat with Ranger penchant. Quinlans odd looks comes form the fact that he is a half-Drow. He was born in Scardale, but his mother and him were driven from their village at an early age. He does not talk about his wereabouts since, only that he has been travelling for the past six months and recently arrived in the Dales.
Quinlan is an easy-going fellow, who enjoys a good laugh and to entertain his entourage with his acrobatic skills. He carries a longbow and a rapier at his side, hidden in his left boot is a dagger (he doesn't make that a secret among friends). Those around him can't help noticing he does seem somewhat vain, fussing over his appearance, clothes, etc.

(I'm posting this in the character thread as well, for easy reference)

Its no problem. I am being given Calimshan to run as well as this one, and am playing a character in the Savage frontier, so I am trying to keep all the posts seperate. Guess it takes a bit of getting used to. I do hope to speed it up here after the first of april though

So, we're basically three adventurers left now? With two clerics and a rogue we have an interesting mix of abilities. A bit light in the offensive magic and melee department perhaps.

Re: Who's here?

I was debating advertising for more, but you are almost to the center of the poisoning problem, although curing it may be a bit delicate. Or easily solved, up to you. But it could lad to bigger adventures. With me ya never know. Its basically what YOU as the players want though.

Yeah - Vella could have a fairly effective offensive array of spells, but I went with purely curative/protective type spells for this adventure.
I have lots of detect poison/slow poison, and cure dsease (from the halflings description of things - this thing sounds more disease-like than poison-like, but I came prepared for either)  I even have a neutralize poison - if needed, though slow poison should be more than enough to get us through the adventure.

In fact, it may be about time to buff with slow poison.  IC things look to be coming close to a head.

Re: Who's here?

By the way, I've added a portrait to the character description. (Klick on the name)
The portrait is really nice, although the skin is a little darker than I imagine Quinlan's would be. That set of portraits comes from the game Icewind Dale II, and they are all very well done. Almost worth the price of the game ;-)

Re: Who's here?

They say that kidney stones is one of the most painful medical conditions that there is. Did you get the ultra-sound treatment?

As for spells, I have a fair mix memorized. With low level clerical spells you're not always sure that offensive spells will work on the intended target but I think we'll be alright.
