Re: Silver Marches Adventure: The Absent-Minded Sage

After the party opens the door what the elf ghost had guarded whit his life they come into a hallway which end into stairs which lead more deeper. The group descend down the stairs, descending and descending and descending and the stairs seems never end and often they see a single dwarven corpse pop up in their travel.

After checking the body the dwarf had not died on injury, so has not the next one nor the following one and all of them had same gear and had died on same position and none of them had magic items. If somebody did bother count they passed the hundreth corpse by now and measured steps they should have walked already a tenth miles.

Re: Silver Marches Adventure: The Absent-Minded Sage

Galain was becoming uneasy the lower they decended into the depths. Elves were not usually comfortable underground and the phenomenon of the dead dwarves was a little creepy. I'm not Drow! He thought to himself silently, he moved up closer to Silifrey and asked, What do you make of this dark evil place?

Taman remained focused on the potential danger all around them, not listening to the conversations of others.  Though his eyesight remained sharp, he was more used to the forest and was a bit confused by his dark, dank surroundings.

Re: Silver Marches Adventure: The Absent-Minded Sage

Galain and Taman notices that the corpses what they have passed....they are one and same corpse! Also Galain can expertly think numerous clever magicall traps or spells which can create such situation but cannot pin point it out. But he is sure the source of this mystery is in magic or in a spell. Others also cannot figure out what exactly is going on.

Galain tries to figure out what could cause this phenomenon. He then searches the dead body to see if it is carrying any clue as to what might have happened.

"We're going around in circles. On a staircase. Oh godsdamnit." Raiden cursed.

The tiefling had an idea, of a sort, and laid himself down on the steps, peering to peer around and down at the next level, wondering if he could see himself from behind.

Re: Silver Marches Adventure: The Absent-Minded Sage

Galain's eyes open, There is a teleportation effect at work here. Everytime we move down it teleports us back up. There is a way to bypass it but I do not know how. What we need is for everyone to look for anything suspicious, a rune, a lever anything. But if you find anything do not touch it unless you consult me first

With that said Galain looks around to try and find anything that looks like it could be a trigger.

08:57, Today: Galain Sianodel rolled 16 using 1d20+5. Search.

Re: Silver Marches Adventure: The Absent-Minded Sage

The group looks around and they do not find anything as level, rune or anything what would be hint for passing the odd but effective ward (and actually one party members thinked did the dwarf warrior corpse died from thirst or some other accident while rushing forever downwards the stairs?). Only odd clue was elven script which was written backwards and readed 'This way towards to living quarters'.

(assuming someone tells Taman about the translation...)

Taman scowls and turns so that he is facing up the stairs. Then he slowly and carefully walks backwards down a few steps.
