Re: Silver Marches Adventure: The Absent-Minded Sage

"Eternal waiting will be thieves destiny until morning bells are ringed and watchers ready to arrest them from their crime." Galain recited softly to himself, Interesting. He searched the room trying to find the focus gem for the ward, or failing that, a set of bells.

OCC: Search check 16. If Galain doesn't find either of those items he will look again this time he will take 20 for a result of 26.

Re: Silver Marches Adventure: The Absent-Minded Sage

Galain does not find any bells nor gems in the space what he is searching. But he finds old libarian's diary where it is talked some daily matters whit simple words and sentences whit no deep depth for details. But in it is mentioned that 'the clock system starts get old, it would need some repairs doned' and it was one latest sentences before book ends whit blank pages.

((No, libary doesnt have any visible clockwork systems. It is likely elsewhere on the building. Likely trough the garden labyrinth again.))

Re: Silver Marches Adventure: The Absent-Minded Sage

Galain exitted the perimeter of the ward. He needed to study his spellbook but he was too tired to study. His body wouldn't accept the arcane power unless it was sufficiently rested. He sat with his back to a wall with his legs crossed and slipped into reverie. They'd never know anyway, for them time had stopped. Upon awakening and feeling refreshed, he looked through his spellbook for the required spell.

Galain then reentered the area of the ward and cast locate object to find the focus gem for the ward.

Lady Starfire, something has indeed happened to my friends. They have been caught by a trap in the library that has put them in some kind of stasis. I was hoping that you knew a way to free them.

The elf maid replied; "My name was Godleaf Galain, altough Starfire sounds nice nickname tough. Oh, the libary! Did not think wards would still hold but seems they do! You must reach the clock tower and make bell ring twelve times! It breaks the ward off and it resets after six hours have passed. Otherwise your friends will remain in stasis forever until magic is dispelled but I doubt not many can dispell Lord Eveningsword's spell."

Goldleaf replies; "Same way like you found libary; Wait a sign appear to show your path. The poet for clocktower went like this; 'follow the bells ringing until you hear only silence and then seek solace in shadow of tower'."

Thanks Lady Goldleaf for your assistance once again, I am in your debt. Galain looks about for the archways and waits until one that looks correct opens up.

Galain moves trough the passage and soon he no longer hears bells ringing around him. But he does not see any tower tough, he sees merely very tall bush which is in middle of the clearing where he has been entered.

Galain will wait until he sees the archway with the bells on it again and then he will reenter. Thinking the bush might be the tower in the rhyme he heads over and examines it closely.

Re: Silver Marches Adventure: The Absent-Minded Sage

Galain goes back and finds the bells play again and go silent again also. Also Galain sees the tall bush again. He goes examine it closer and notices one thing......it is rather quite hollow inside and there is even small round wooden hatch at ground below the bush! The roots were skillfuly slided around the hatch during their growth so bush hides entrance to the hatch. The hatch is big enough for medium sized (albeit bit thin) person slide trough. The leafs and roots were placed so that Galain can slide them aside whitout harming them to step onto the hatch.

Re: Silver Marches Adventure: The Absent-Minded Sage

Galain lifts the hatch and sees a small passage leading to under the ground whit small delicate ladders. He goes down and follows the passage which is lifted whit blue glowing everburning torches and comes to another pair of ladders. He climbs up and see another hatch and he opens it and rises up from the hatch.

He sees he have reached into somesort of a tower whit no doors leading into it and sees place is covered by cobwebs everywhere! The webs were quite big and thick to be made by ordinary spiders tough, especially when Galain does not see any spiders around.

((Sorry for late reply))

Galain goes into the room again filled whit sticky webbing. he cant get past the webbing to cut it or burn it while moving deeper into the room. But he can see past the curtains of the webbing that there is stairs leading up at side of the room and walls are made from same rock like rest of the complex have been.
