Re: The return

"That market is hard. Keep your eyes open for pickpockets. And don't forget some more milk, for the little one!"

"So, should we make some more contact with the military, or should we wait until we can strike back on the thugs again?"

Don is standing firm, and does his best to look appealing for the ladies. A warm smile toward Svetlana to show her that whenever she wants to get into his arms, he will be ready for her.

"Unless of course if you want me to follow, Devlin, Vlad?"

Re: The return

Svetlana tilted a glance about the place, returning her attention to Vladimir. Quiet words escaped her lips as she inched forward to rise, though paused to flash him a smallish smile..

As the last of the softly exchanged Russian words left her lips, booted feet found purchase on the ground beneath her, and Lana tugged the helmet down low, switching to English.. “I go with you too?..”

Vlad chuckles and grins at Svetlana then replies in Russian.

He next looks to Donnachaidh and shrugs, glancing at the doctor.

"I'd be glad for the company plus it'd be nice to know exactly what I'm getting."

Looking to Vlad and Svetlana with a friendly smile Devlin adjusts the gear he is carrying and looks to the gathered group once more.  "I think I've asked before but is there anything, aside from milk for the baby, that we need to try and obtain?  I have a little bit of gold that we can use for purchases."

"Alrighty. So, we are confident the job has been done?"

"In that case, I'll tag along. After all, I was there when we got the job..."

Don fixes up his suit a little more. It has began losing some threads and it is a little dirty at places.

"I guess we should pop into a drycleaners as well, hehe"

He was pretty sure noone had a working drycleaner in the city, but at least there might be someone used to a thread and needle to patch the suit up, and something to wash away the worst stains.

OOC: Sorry, obviously I have missed something. I thought we had more stuff from the station, so it wasn't ready yet.

The rest of you can make the place a little cosier, or at least safer, if we get evil visitors."

Re: The return

Lana quirked a brow at Don’s antics, offering a half-formed smile from the corner of her mouth and a light giggle.  Her expression went blank suddenly, as if in consideration.. Thoughtfully, the Russian girl paced toward the exit, before shaking the notion off.  -She had all ready been set for a day out,  sighing softly as the helmet was plopped unceremoniously back atop her head.   A smoothing hand was set over the worn fatigues, as much to check her weapon’s position, as anything else, and frowned as she studied the material. -Still, Ivanova resisted the urge to head home and put on something more fitting to her tastes..

“Kay.. I go.”, Flashing a smile Svetlana pushed through the door, and furtively glanced about for trouble , though.. really.. If someone wanted to shoot her, it wouldn’t be too difficult. Hands linked at the small of her back, she waited for the others, before turning to lead the way.  Shopping wasn’t exactly a stretch for her, and the market.. while rustic would be a polite term.. was the second best game in town..

Re: The return

Lana leaned her head toward Tanya with the eager curiosity that lent itself to secrets, and couldn’t help, but smile in response to the whisper. Unlinking one hand she lifted it slowly to cover the space between them as she whispered back.. Dah?.. I have maybe something too..  Easing back the Russian woman cast an appraising eye over RedGrave’s frame..  What she could make out in the current state of garb, that is, “Though is maybe for Dinner party..” The last part was in a slightly elevated tone, though retaining the softly, almost secretive nature..

Svetlanna enjoyed the trappings of this conversation, and was surprised to find how much she had missed even such a simple exchange..  Thoughts of dinner engagements at the embassy, dances,.. Press junkets…   -Times lost to her now.. And there was a sense of wistful sorrow hedging into her gaze as she offered a nod..

Re: The return

Nodding back to Don, Devlin shifts the pack on his shoulder and opens the door.  Hopefully he'd be able to obtain what he had tried to so many times before.  Standing to a side and waiting for the others to exit he smiles and runs a hand through his hair once more.

"Offer still stands, anyone in drastic need of anything?  If not then lets get moving so we can get this done."

Letting the smile fade from his face he turns and heads out the door.  Though he was glad for the company it seemed that they had a fairly large group and that would, undoubtedly, attract attention and attention generally meant trouble.

"So, everyone's ready, nothing more to shop. Then let's go. And don't forget having a lookout for pickpockets. The area is loaded with those..."

Don walks out of the clinic, takes a quick look to make sure there aren't any badguys closeby, then he exits, and shows the way toward the market.

Re: The return

Svetlana, trudged along with the group..  There wasn’t any point in her distancing herself from the others, at least not at that point, as the mad dash through the market place earlier had already lumped her in with this peculiar group, and by then safety was in the numbers.  Somewhat familiarized with the street vendors, she kept pace and an eye out for the usual suspects. Gossip had gone about in circles, and would likely continue to do so.. Notoriety was more of a double edged sword, but little could be helped in that regard.

On the back slot, her brain ticked down the most likely individual in which to approach to find the milk Devlin was after, while pondering what possible bartering tools they might have between them..

Considering whether to disclose what he had to his companions Devlin runs another hand through his unruly hair before pulling out a small handful of gold coins in one hand and some antibiotics in the other.

"I figure one of you two will have to do the bartering.  As such its probably a good idea to disclose what we have.  We can trade either of these though I'd prefer to part with the gold.  If we can get more for less so much the better."

Offering a meek smile he looks first to Svetlana and then to Vlad.

Re: The return

"Ahh!" hisses Vlad as he gestures frantically at Mitchell, "Put that away!"  He looks around to see if anyone might have gotten a glimpse of what the other man had in his hands.

"Maybe not gold, but those medicines will be _very_ valuable around here; keep them in your pockets with your hands."

In a slightly calmer (and much quieter) tone of voice, he adds that he has some gold also.

"But," he adds, "if we need something big, that," Vlad points to the pocket containing the ampoules, "will stand a better chance of finding it."

With that, he starts looking around for someone selling milk and the rest of the stuff they came to get.

With an embarrassed smile Devlin tucks everything away as he nods to Vlad.  Not saying anything he falls back in with the rest of the group but is now even more acutely aware of those around them.  Pickpockets were probably common.  Silently cursing the momentary lapse of intelligence he runs another hand through his messy hair.  Hopefully they could find some milk and other items that would be of use, especially if they had to evacuate...
