Experience

Character advancement in this game will not operate on a system of XP totals. Skill/stat increases will not be purchased with experience points. Instead, increases will be awarded automatically on a basis of GM discretion. If the game's content reflects a character's progress in a given area, the appropriate stat will be raised.

In general, expect most stats to increase at a more realistic (i.e. slower) rate. The progression of various stats are as follows:

Body Characteristics: Require rigorous physical exercises to increase.
Mind Characteristics: Require major internal development to increase.
Spirit Characteristics: Require significant character growth to increase.
Occult Characteristics: Require long training and meditation to increase.
Wyrd: Requires long, focused meditations and spiritual growth to increase.
Vitality: Does not increase without special bodily augmentation.
Talents: May increase with regular use, especially with high Success Ratings.
Skills: May increase with constant use, especially with high Success Ratings.
Knowledge: May increase depending on learned information and/or study/research.
Psi Powers: Require intense cultivation, training, and practice to gain.
Theurgic Rites: Require theological teaching, training, and practice to gain.

Players may also request stat increases from the GM if they provide reasonable arguments and evidence of in-game character development. Stats are meant to reflect the overall makeup of characters, and should adjust to accomodate their in-game depiction. Stat increases should not be a goal in and of themselves.
