Re: Player Introductions

Well ello there people. As some of you may know i am ike. Its not my real name but then again i tend not to give that out on the net, so ike will do for now. I have played numerous rpgs in my time having spend a good portion of my life working somewhere that sold them. i am 24 and live just outside london. i have played and run fading suns numerous times now and am looking forward to this game, as in my experiance i have run it more than played. i have never played on rpol however though i have been a member for years. oh one last thing i appologise for my spelling and grammar they are really bad.

Re: Player Introductions

Howdy all!  I'm tycho, or Travis if you prefer.  I'm from the states, but am living in scotland, so add yet another to the UK contingent.  I'm 29, and found rpol a few years back now after a long break from RPing.  Mostly I've played in D&D games here, but I've also been in most of the FS games that have popped up here over the last few years (sadly most haven't lasted), and I run one that's been going for quite a long time now (yay for loyal players!).

Re: Player Introductions

Heya, I'm Zahir/Kal/etc... got a couple online names I'm used to using.  I'm from the US and still living in the US, although I've been to UK plenty of times.  I'm 25, used to RP'ing in online things or (occasionally) doing D&D and the like in person... haven't done much at all on rpol.  I've got a bit of FS experience from a MUSH and reading the few books I have several times over, but I've barely ever been able to actually play it.

Re: Player Introductions

Hi I usually go by the name Dwarf or anything thats not offensive, um I'm 23 and am in England. I've played in a couple of Fading Suns games online but they've all died pretty quickly, I've only really played long enough to have a rough impression of the different historic points so I'll probably be asking lots of questions :S

Re: Player Introductions

Hey people, I'm Jay, 27 (OOoof!) and long time player and GM of FS tabletop games. Got pretty much all of the source material 'cept the stuff Redbrick has done (Church Fiefs pdf etc).

Not sure what I'll be playing, gonna pop a couple of ideas in the concept thread in a moment!

I'm Zithuriel, or Zeal, 19, east coast US.  I don't like to get more precise than that online, no offense.  I've got a considerable amount of FS material, but not everything.  It's one of my favorite settings.

Re: Player Introductions

Uh.  Yo.  I'm Jess.  I'm weak when I'm sleep deprived.  I've always said I'd join a game that was run by this GM.  So here I am.  I enjoy beeswax candles, cats and tea.  My timezone is Pacific.  I'm a Virgo.  I have never played Fading Suns before, have mostly played WoD or freeform, but I'm sure it'll be blast-like in its funness.  Thankyouverymuch.  Thatisall.

PS:  Also, I note there is a PC screaming in terror after only twelve posts into the game.  This frightens me.

Re: Player Introductions

Jess, be afraid.

In space no-one can here you scream ... when the Inquisition and Temple Avesti burn you for being able to read.

Then of course there are the vile and terrible aliens and stuff like that.

Play a nice Pancreator fearing church type and I won't slaughter you needlessly. lol

Seriously, welcome, FS is an amazing game (I play in one and run one IRL) and this GM is certainly more proactive and a lot more enthusiastic than the vast majority I've encountered on here.

Huzzah for more heretics for me to kill!

Re: Player Introductions

Hi,

I'm Damian, and I'm looking to join the game - soon as all character-type decisions and requirements are done.

I'm currently in Manchester, UK and working quite a lot of the time - but we do have the net accessible at work during lunchtimes, so I hope to be able to be active on here once I get things going.

I've been RPing a good long while and I love FS.  Non-RP related interests include booze and music (mostly rock-based, though I do have quite an eclectic CD collection).

Anyhow, I look forward to interacting with you guys soon.

D.

Re: Player Introductions

Never had chance to do a FS LRP. Saw the Passion Play book but never knew enough people to do a LRP.

Mind you, don't know many in the UK who play it besides my small group and one or two others. Shame, one of the best settings out there!

Re: Player Introductions

Most of the larping has been at cons...gencon and origins.

So as I ponder character concepts...are there any common themes or bonds between the existing characters? Anything I should watch out for?

Umm...something that doesn't think it's best to burn cyberwear users on sight would be nice. :)  Otherwise, I think your options are fairly open as far as Ivan's concerned.

Church.

You know you want too.

Temple Avesti would be good. Or another Brother.  : )

Lots of Symbiots and heretics from the Guilds to redeem ... lol

Re: Player Introductions

Hmm..guess I should do an intro after having signed up.  Oi.

I'm Nellie or just go by Nell.  I live in on the east coast and am doing that thing called being a responsible adult.  I've been RPing D&D and WoD for almost 14 years though the last few years it has been slim pickings right now.  Fading Suns is news to me and I'm also one of the elder of the group at 34 too.  :-)

Re: Player Introductions

New to this game but not new to FS (been playing FS since 1st Edition).  I'm in my mid-30s living on the East Coast of the US.  I'm probably going to play a Brother Battle with some light Theurgy but I need to revamp my original BB concept to be adapted for the current timeline.

Re: Player Introductions

Hi, I’ve just joined. I’m Irish and in my early 30’s. Have been following FS for years but never really got a good campaign going.

Haven’t decided on a character just yet, but starting out on Stigmata concentrates the mind abit – its not like the Gjarti or Courtesans are flocking to enjoy the company of the symbiots! :D

Re: Player Introductions

Hi all.

Now for the presentation. Hold your breaths.

I'm a 27 yr old swede (actually croatian origin) with a lot of roleplaying in the backpack. I've been playing D&D, Vampire:DA and Vampire: tM, Eon, Warhammer fantasy, Sla Industries and many more ever since I was 12-13.

Here on Rpol I have cut down from ten games in 2006 to only four in order to be able to concentrate on quality instead of quantity. I play in two SLA Industries games, and I'm also GM:ing one of the squads in one of those games. I also GM my own Vampire: DA chronicle.
And now I'm here.

Looking forward to play along with you guys, I'm going to drop the last bits of my background puzzle to the GM some time during tonight (CET+1).

Cheers

Re: Player Introductions

Hello all!

I've been in the game a bit longer than the Oblate, kefln, Vasuvik, or Nell, but after reading your introductions I realized that I don't recall actually doing this myself. In real life my name is Paul. I'm 42, live in NYC, and used to own the 1st edition of these rules, but never actually played the game. Otherwise, I've been gaming since I was in my early teens, though nowadays those games I do play are here at RPOL or computer games like NWN or City of Heroes rather than on a tabletop. Have I mention I despise D&D regardless of its edition despite my sentimental memories of the AD&D that I learned to game with and the fact that the only rpg game I play with in anything like real time is NWN? (Don't know why I felt I needed to write that, but there ya go.)

Looking forward to seeing y'all on Stigmata!
