We did have some simpathics-affected Dwarves as prisoners, so how about Vhurdaer led a detachment to take them somewhere and has just returned?

Haven't seen a sage before (I think); specialist wizards can be neat.

sages and specialists actually offer specialists in a field like scribes engineers healers blacksmiths and seers.

Just think with a scribe you could copy any scroll you got your hands on making you much more potent.
