Are we trying to fight the entire rat carpet or just the cranium rats?

you attakk the rats as individuals, but their powers tend to become reinfroced as  a hive.

hmmm...  I can't remember. Are we using torches for light sources, or oil lanterns, or are we not using anything, you know, being elves.

Re: OOC: a tavern in a Protected City.

Id say none being elves.. ... you probaly can light a torch if your willing to spend a few actions on the task... (to drive them off or such)

remember not only would it be redundent with your infravision It would be counterproductive, unless your looking for trouble light draws attention.

Re: OOC: a tavern in a Protected City.

I'm on the fence.

Being the new guy on the block, my perspective is that the game has been faltering since I signed on and I have not gotten hooked by the game or have become attached to the character.

If you guys want to continue, then I'll stick around.  If you guys want to close the game down, then that's okay with me.

One more idea... I knowit warns a lot in the DMG against "monty haul" campaigns. but im thinking that after going through this attack, leveling everyone up to 3rd or 4t level, making people more potent,  thoughts on how that would affect things?

Re: OOC: a tavern in a Protected City.

Being a multi-class character, I'm thinking that Meeka would then be bumped up to a 2nd or 3rd class level.  Jumping to 2nd class wouldn't be all that far fetched, just a big bonus point award.  3rd level is bit bigger of a jump but if that's what people would prefer or it allows for a bit more enticing encounters, no worries from my end.

By "Restart", I meant waiting for posts again.

As far as the game is going, the pace of advancement is OK; I'd just like more time to explore the city.

oh an issue I brought up before... who here would like to try building retinues?

I'll admit I would enjoy using sages and specialists, I know id have to write them up myself unless any of you have the book too.

Re: OOC: a tavern in a Protected City.

Heya! does anyone else think the commanders "joke" was over the top, of whats accepted from good aligned people... I'd wanted a little levity, yes yes yes, at teh expense of the dwarves dignity.

Tell me honestly, do you think that as a childish prank, or a monstrous display of emosadism.

Re: OOC: a tavern in a Protected City.

Being a non-dwarf, I'd put the shaving in the same category as sending the fellow back stripped of his clothes as well as his dignity.  Mean certainly, but not evil.

Of course, if I were playing a dwarf character, he'd certainly would have done his damnedest to kill the commander for such an insult, even if his own life were forfeit in the effort.

Re: OOC: a tavern in a Protected City.

Playing dwarves frequently, I'd sayt it was a grave insult.  Certainly one desrving of a dark vengeance and a long, burning anger.  But while creul, it was not in and of itself Evil.  It also certainly was not Good, nor even humorous in a rougeish fashion.  But think, what is Evil?

Re: OOC: a tavern in a Protected City.

In Arminna's mind, the action crossed a line.  As a priestess of Eilistraee, her job is to work on improving the reputation of good drow, and this work in direct counter to that.  Furthermore, she feels that this action is more in line with a follower of the Spider Queen than the Dark Maiden.

I certainly respect the opinion and have no interest in trying to change Arminna's mind on the issue.  That said, I'm just curious.  If the goal is to improve our reputation with the dwarves, then why help take down a dwarven patrol?

From the mindset of being a drow with little actual knowledge of the dwarven enemy, Meeka thinks this is rather tame when stacked against the atrocities of war of which she has learned.  Of course, she only knows of dwarves by reputation (aside from our adventure) and has no concept of just how egregious the dwarves would view the shaving.
