OCC: Works for me.

After they all wake up and get ready for breakfast, Arminna asks the infiltrator "So, did you learn anything about a portal to Arborea?"

Meeka sits on the bed, having gotten up earlier, bathed and was again ready for action.  At Arminna's query, she looks askance at the infiltrator, waiting to hear what the fellow discovered.

He pauses "I learned of 2 or 3 ways there yes." blinks


"It was explained to me that each of the outer planes has whats called a "Gate town"

They form a ring around Sigil

Each one has a gate to Their own plane...

Also each gate town is... in essence, a minature replica of their destination plane.

Hopeless The gatetown to the gray waste, for instance, is so filled with despair and darkness, that most people there can barely summon the Energy to be nasty, Excelsior the gate town to mount celestia is likewise an orderly and benevolent stronghold against wickedness... I know we cant afford to see every place worth seeing... But just noting that allows us access to gates to every known plane that we can travel relatively safely between.

I focusd mor yesterday on how this city is governed... a shocking mess..."

pauses...

"I did learn that their are two other natives of Svartheim living in the city, on an appearently long term basis, if that interests you?"

Arminna perks a bit at hearing that there are others from Svartheim living in the city.  "Do you have any further information about them? she asks.  "I'd like to get started to Arborea, but if they're along the way perhaps we can pay a brief visit."

Pauses and describes them

"One Villarin, bearing no surname"

"He assists with Tax collection in this city. appearently is cheerful enough working either with the books, or with the actual collecting aspects."

"Hes a member of "The Fated" A Faction... which it should be noted... most dwarves from Nidaveleir, who join a faction opt for the Fated.

Their philosophy is simply

"No one has a right to anything they havent earned."

They never accept, or give charity...

Their philosophy on the surface seems far more evil then good, but their are certainly some good members of the Fated.

Their leader himself is a good man, a Ranger in fact.


But Villarin, has largely turned from the Dark Maiden and not embraced ANYONE in her place, not the queen of spiders, not Waukeen, appearently his own purse is his god.


pauses "A Jhaelryna, a Bard is also here. She works for the Sensates, their an order of people who seek new sensations, and experiences.

She performs for them, Shes said to still be a gifted bard. And a Generous contributer to charitable causes. She also helps to train anyone with bardic talent in how to sing."

Pauses

"Well different as Day and Night they are would you like to visit arborea before Paying a visit to one of them?"

Meeka's ears perk up as he speaks of the first of the two Svartheim natives.  When she has a chance to speak, she adds, "There was a Villarin back home who was on the wanted list.  Seems he was more interested in deserting than he was in following orders.  Maybe we should take some time to look him up."

Arminna thinks on the info.  "Perhaps, Meeka, but if Villarin works for the city, then it's best that we don't try anything against him; I think he can wait until we're ready to return to Svartheim, then if it is the same one we can inform those at home.  Jhaelryna, however, I'd like to meet before we leave.  If she's looking for new experiences, she may wish to join us," Arminna says as she gathers her stuff to leave.

Meeka nods, "Aye, it's probably best to let deserters lie.  I guess it makes more sense to leave him be and pass on the information to the army when we return back home."

Shes in the Public festhall.

its in the clerksward mostly government apparatusses, and homes of the Well to do, but not super rich.

A lot of it is conservative, but the festhall is GRANDOISE in its size, large and beautiful.

inside you find everything from paintings, to various offers of beer, wine and tea, sculptures...

a lot is beautiful, some is hideous.

Their are fiends and celestials alike here, and yet you sense them suprisingly buddy buddy here discussing their experiences.

After asking for directions you will find her, In a room shes apperanetly tutoring a group of a dozen children in how to sing, and keeps a smile on her face through it all

Their all well dressed, suggesting their from well to do backgrounds.

Most are human, but one Has a pair of wings and noble features...

One has pale skin, and slightly blue hair...

upon seeing you she pauses

"Hold children, we have guests"

she bows her head

"How can I help you?" She asks in common

"Not every day I see a fellow dark elf I must admit. Take it your not here to seek an enrollment?" Asks jokingly.

on close examination you can see shes missing her left leg, right at the knee, but she seems capable and has a BEAUTIFUL voice.

"I am Arminna, servant of the Dark Maiden," Arminna replies.  "And these are my friends Meeka and Calimar," she continues, indicating each of them in turn.  "We don't mean to interrupt your lesson; please continue."

pauses "With all respect you've allready done so, and youve roused my curiousity, please tell me why your here, I doubt its a coincidence meeting another lady of Eilistraee after so many years" She says wistfully... "I may not live in Svartheim anymore, but Im always at the Dark Maidens command, rest assured"

the children dont seem to mind. and seem attentive

she smiles "You here with a summons or?" Asks curiously.

"No summons," Arminna answers her.  "We are about to start an adventure, beginning with Arborea, and were curious if you'd wish to join us."

Nods  with a sardonic smile


"Children tell me, Every faction has a homeplane of operation doesnt it"

they nod" she calls them to give the bases of each faction.


"The harmonium?" She asks sweetly

"Arcadia"

"The Fraternity of Order?" She asks

"Mechanus"

"THe Transcendent order?"

"Elyisum"

She smiles sweetly

"And Our own faction?"

one or two giggle

"Arborea"

She amiles and says

"Ive seen most of the basic things to see in Arborea... Unless your going somewhere particularlly uncharted... now if you want someone to act as guide, I would be happy to do so, if you'll allow me to bend your ear here and there about the tenets of my own faction?" she asks

You get the impression she wants you to promise to listen to her proselytyze about her factions Tenets.

"I take it your going there to pay a courtesy call to Arvandor not simply to party?

"For now, we don't have any definite plans there," Arminna replies.  "Should there be a celebration there, I don't think we'd object," she continues, looking to her companions for their opinions.

nods and goes allowing you follow her as she goes to her chambers to fetch 2 or 3 things, including a Rapier that hangs on the wall that she Draws a gain and kisses...


"Once more unto the breech" she says with a smile.

Pausing and asks "Think I should bring my armor? or would you prefer to have me able to cast spells in a combat situation?" she seems curious.

Calimar nods "More the merrier I say its time to be onward bound"

After all that you go towards the portal, and are able to go through without incident... you find yourself in a land of lush green grass, and see a forrest just ahead it looks beautiful, and you hear elaborate birdsong...

"Wow, it's so beautiful," Arminna remarks.  "So, which way do you think we should go first, group?"

For one reared in the caverns of home, the forest is like a fairie land, beautiful, but somehow a bit sinister too.  She keeps her hand near the hilt of her blade as he considers.

Meeka considers all directions.  Seeing nothing to really pick a direction, Meeka points more or straight ahead.  "How about that wy?"

after a bit she pauses

"Want to visit olympus or arvandor first? My faction has more Influence in Olympus, I admit, Partialy cause thats where the partys are, Also any specific God realms you want to see?" asks curiously

"I wont say i know the location perfectly... On the outer planes, in some cases, geography is only so plausible and trying to keep Maps, will drive you insane."

"Olympus will be fine," Arminna replies.  "Calimar, take the lead, please," she adds.

You find a bacchanal celebration after a while, a bunch of human people are drinking laughing, singing, etc... after a bit one notices you and says "Dark elves, would you join us?" Offers politely, as they continue yo sing...

Meeka looks at the reveling humans with a slight disdain.  For one who spent her life from a young age in a rigid training regime in both the magical arts and the martial, such frivolity was almost obscene to her way of thinking.  But it was Arminna's choice if they were to dally with the humans or not and she would abide by it.

OOC:  That's fine; we all understand things can get like that.

"We'd be delighted, thank you," Arminna replies.  She then grabs a goblet and fills it with some wine, taking a sip.  Finding it having a pleasant taste, she turns to offer some to her companions.  Noticing Meeka's discomfort, she asks "Is there anything wrong, Meeka?"

"The celebrations in Svartheim, Rarely have this much alchahol,Dancing might be feirce when a celebration is called, but rarely descends into what can be called debauchery.

Arminna nods, picking up a chicken leg and taking a big bite out of it.
