I was planning on packing some fishing gear when we took our Zodiac LAV III out onto the river. Catch me some mutated fish.

Hawke,
Plenty of surprising things on and in the Fraser River.
quote:
1. Arghhhhh! So confused!
1 again. I enjoyed it, really!
2. Nono! I know we have a new one, but I can't keep Zodiac and Kodiak straight to save my life! I thought it was an LAV III Kodiak -OR- a Zodiac boat thing? Regardless, name it "Extra Helpings".
3. Oh right.. well, I meant in the CF, since both those guys are RCMP, ne? Oh, and I didn't know Andy had proper CF Rank, his character listing says something about SFC or something...
1) I guess I could just say "RIB" to mean the Zodiac and LAV-III for the Kodiac. Or the "floaty thing" and "shooty thing".
2) Andy's actual rank is Warrant Officer (OR-7). The Canadian Army has one Sergeant rank (OR-6). Counting, US has 8(!) different "Sergeant" ranks. "Master Sniper" is technically a position/appointment. He can train and lead a battalion sniper detachment (a platoon-sized unit that has no officers). Because it's a recognition, he is addressed as "Master McRae".
3) RCMP rank is somewhat difficult to convert. At one point the Mounties were part of the miltiary and technically still remain there. They got rid of their junior ranks and jump from Staff Sergeant to Inspector (Captain/Major). RCMP Staff Sergeants are senior NCOs and command detachments. They are probably equivalent to OR-7 but for the sake of the unit chain of command RCMP Staff Sergeant is treated as OR-8.
