Re: Player/GM Die Rolls

In reply to Andrew Montgomery McRae (msg # 98):

The only visible target is the SAW gunner, but he might drop back down out of sight. The other guy might pop up to take a shot, you don't know.

Your option then is to wait. It's not a hold action as such, but just wastes a few ticks (depending on yourn OODA). It might allow you to be in a position to react more effectively but won't necessarily guarantee you a first shot (say, if the grenadier pops up).

Re: Player/GM Die Rolls

What if we say that Andy will wait for up to seven ticks and then shoot at the gunner if he's still a target, if not, the turn's wasted but such is the life of a sniper.

Mac can take the SAW gunner shot as soon as he can.

Could I get Fieldcraft from Kel and Abbot to remain unseen?

Stanley Alistair Abbot rolled 11 using 3d20, keeping the lowest dice only with rolls of 11,17,11. Fieldcraft TN 8 - to stay hidden from hostage taking mercs.

Dice roller is not good to me today.  Maybe being 40 meters away enough to make a difference.

Re: Player/GM Die Rolls

Kel got her shot off and Tony was waiting on me.   Be advised.  The C9 is not the ideal weapon for this scenario. The C9 is not capable of singe shot fire.  Abbot might have gotten a short burst 2 or 3 round instead of the standard 5 or 9. That is up to Tony to make the call. We'll see what plays out.

23:18, Today: Stanley Alistair Abbot rolled 2 using 3d20, keeping the lowest dice only with rolls of 2,11,4. Trying for a short burst head shot on 2nd hostage taker.

In reply to Stanley Alistair Abbot (msg # 112):

Some sources list the C9 as being select-fire, others do not.

But ask yourself, if your GM thinks it's select-fire, and you post that it's not, who wins this argument?

Re: Player/GM Die Rolls

In reply to helbent4 (msg # 113):

For that matter, if you want to make 1 shot you can always load a single loose round in the chamber. More will not magically appear if you pull the trigger. With an optical sight, bipod and heavy barrel I think the C9 would be a decent weapon for precision fire (as most such weapons are). Granted to keep shooting you'd need to load the belt and chamber another round, after.

Alternatively, Abbot can also switch to a sidearm.

I was under the impression that the SAW was auto only.  If the C9 is selct fire then Abbot takes the shot on semi.

Re: Player/GM Die Rolls

In reply to Stanley Alistair Abbot (msg # 115):

Again, it could be my error. But even if the C9/Minimi was not select-fire, it's possible to fire a single round by unloading it. Or switching to a different weapon.

In reply to Kelsey Sarah Champlain (msg # 117):

Make Kel's to-hit roll. I assume she goes when Stan is ready.

My ruling on Stanley's shot is he can fire a single round from the C9 but needs to re-chamber another round to continue firing. Sorry for any confusion.

Re: Player/GM Die Rolls

If that is ok with Kel, I'll do it. That is a whole round without lead going down range after we kick the hornet's nest.

As an infantry squad leader she should know the pros/cons of the common weapon systems.

Abbot can't normally shoot twice in a turn, at any rate.

The new turn starts the tick after you take your shots. I took the liberty of rolling your next turn Initiative.

20:04, Today: helbent4, on behalf of Kelsey Sarah Champlain, rolled 12 using 2d20, keeping the lowest dice only with rolls of 12,16. Initiative.
20:03, Today: helbent4, on behalf of Stanley Alistair Abbot, rolled 6 using 2d20, keeping the lowest dice only with rolls of 9,6. Initiative.

Both rolls are above your OODA, so you go on base initiative. Kel is 12, Abbot is 9. New turn starts now. Abbot must now spend 4 ticks to get his weapon into action.

Thanks for your patience!

Tony
