Andrew Montgomery McRae:
"Rook to Bishop," Andy answered, "we are the other side of the conduit. How does that correspond to your position, over?"

Kelsey moves to where she is next to the big pipe under the road, staying off to one side she yells into it.

"Sounds like we are on either side of this!"

She remained wary of them grenadier and the SAW gunner though, asking someone to go check them out, please, carefully.

"Don't go and get hurt now."  She eyes the captured HA's, changing magazines in her C8 while leaving a round in the chamber.  She knew how many shots she had left, but it is always good to have more.  The spare went into the pouch upside down so she would know it is a short magazine.

Re: Safari II

In reply to Kelsey Sarah Champlain (msg # 470):

It would seem she was right, that Andy and Mac were on the other side of the culvert.

One thing became apparent: the prisoners seemed to actually be ex-military personnel, not obviously bikers. Many ex-soldiers had joined the ranks of the OMGs so it wasn't a clear line, but these men lacked any symbols, patches or other identifying marks. Many did have extensive tattoos but without a closer examination under the clothing none of the ink was of classic biker tats. These were young, fit men with short or shaved hair and clean-shaved or trimmed beards. Plus, their gear seemed to be professionally put together and weapons in good repair.

"Covering, Sergeant!", Abbot replied.

He quickly found an position that gave him a clear field of fire while the rest of the team finished securing the area.

"Take a break if you need to. You guys alright?", Abbot asked Tyler and Koldan.

"Can one of you run up top and make sure that asshole with the SAW and his buddy are dead?

Kelsey checks out the prisoners, curious, and makes damn sure they are secured.  She is wearing the markings of Canada's Van Doos.

"Sergeant Champlain, Royal 22nd.  You boys picked the wrong fuckin' team, you know?  The Canadian government is enforcing law on it's territory again, and that hostage bullshit was pure death sentence against any real soldiers, you should have known better.  Who's in charge of this fuckin gong show?"

The captured mercs looked at each other, obviously realising they were in deep shit.

One of them, a skinny white guy with a thin mustache and a Southern accent, replied, "ah, well if that don't beat all to shit. They tole us you were marauders. We didn't even know there was a Canadian government, anyways! This is like Indian country up here, you know? Lawless. We were hired to help the folks around here out, on account there were bands of marauders, looters, New America, all runnin' around. I swear, we didn't know."

"Our leader's that guy there, in the Ghillie suit. His name is Brownstone. Not sure if he's dead or not."

"Am confirming these men are dead. Like, being shot-in-face dead. Courtesy of yourself and Segeant Champain?"

Squatting down, Koldan proceeded to check for documents. "Hold on. Am finding US military ID. American money."

Hearing the V-100 pull up, Tyler asked Koldan to keep what he was doing. "I hope that ain't reinforcements or some kind of extraction for these clowns."

He walked up a fading path towards the farm house where the V-100 was idling. Concealed, he spied the V-100 but couldn't determine who was manning it.

Kelsey glances at the man she and Abbott shot to see if he is still actively bleeding or not.  "Except we know he knows better.  Good story, hope you can sell it.  We've been hunting that spook for months now, he's wanted by the police for murder."

Kelsey herself is marked in thick tribal tattoos, and muscular for a woman.  "Oh, I am Van Doo, but I am attached to a police unit.  This fuckin op is all Mounties mates, consider yourself under arrest.  So who has my fuckin radio, that's government property.  Don't add more charges to your asses."

Andrew's keys his microphone on his radio as he looks further south for signs of the enemy:

"Knight, Bishop and Rook this is Bishop-4. We are in position to the south in a residential compound with the V-100. To the left of 248 Street about ** meters from the culvert, down a drive. Orders ?

Kelsey broadcasts, listening for the captured radio (unless it was already re-acquired)

"This is Bishop One, the captives were told our police force are marauders, so they say.  Locking down four for stories, five tangos apparently deceased.  We are in the hole by the culvert, getting ready to head up."

After checking the sniper she determines he isn't dead, but he is unconscious. He has multiple gunshot wounds, including a flesh wound to the thigh and torso. More serious is a bullet wound to the pelvic area, and 2 to the chest. Although he didn't appear to be bleeding out quickly he would definitely require serious medical attention or eventually die.

Examining the captured gear, Kel noted that not only did they have Tyler's captured PRC-77, which allowed them to listen in to tactical comms, but they had a digital AN/PRC-114 SINCGARS set of their own.

The prisoners at that point seemed to come to an unspoken agreement to shut the hell up.

"Roger that, advancing."

He put the Cougar into gear, rolling down the incline. Smoke and flame was everywhere. Carefully, he threaded in between the burning vehicles. Emerging from the other side, they saw the road was clear to the south. The V-100 looked like it had pulled off into a driveway on the right, past the streambed.

"Oh, so far, so good! Nice ride. I thought you were more of these clowns come to back their buddies up! Nice to see a friendly face.

He perked up when he heard the Cougar turning off the road, then saw it approaching through the overgrown driveway.

"Hey, someone's coming up behind you. Oh, hey, looks like Taras and Darek."

As the team had picked up the Cougar after Tyler and Koldan had gone undercover, he didn't recognise the vehicle at first.
