I did talk to Javier a few months back and he expressed interest in returning, which would be nice if he can do it.

That would be outstanding.

Re: Change of Mission

In reply to Kelsey Sarah Champlain (msg # 601):

Even if that's not possible (Javier rejoining) I would like to restart this game at some point.

Maybe not soon (and I apologise for that!) but at some point. This game didn't go on hiatus due to lack of interest from players or GM, or some kind of personality conflict so a restart won't be complicated, at least in that way!

Thanks

Sorry I did not chime in. Perhaps a restart after the holidays would be best as I imagine there are several of us whose time is somewhat accounted for at the moment.

Re: Change of Mission

In reply to Thomas Matthew Andrews (msg # 603):

I'll see and I would love to!

Part of the problem is that I've taken on more responsibility at work and this means that while I could count on an hour or two per day to post in the past now I don't post at all. And at home I am devoting as much time as I can to my daughter (which is good). But I find I'm struggling to move forward in the games that are not on hiatus simply due to a lack of time.

Thanks,

Tony

Re: Change of Mission

That's all understandable, Tony.   I didn't mean to post here as a means to jump start the campaign again.  You are running two kick-ass campaigns and I always assumed that this one was paused so you could run the other.

Re: Change of Mission

Greetings to all!

Just came back from a short time off in Seattle to celebrate Christmas. A new year is fast approaching and I want to wish you all a great 2018 hoping that all dreams and projects will come true.

Perhaps it is a good time to think about continuing the campaign here in "Angels"? If so, I shall be ready to join in and have some good old fun in the post apocalyptic world. After a lengthy break a new dialogue can be initiated to ponder about the next adventures ahead.

All the best and I hope we'll get onboard soon!

Same here! Hope everyone had a Merry XMas as well.

We are going to have a quiet night as Michelle and I are both working tomorrow morning. Long gone are the days I can show up at work half-cut on 3 hours sleep! I mean I probably could but man, I sure don't want to.

So while Javier is completing his schooling, I wonder if anyone else is interested in a limited adventure? Mainly, just to resolve the gun running and contraband smuggling, and halting further American incursions across the border?

This game was never over just on hiatus while Javier was going back to school. If I can get at least 3 players, either old or new, we can do a limited adventure to tie up some loose ends.

Re: Change of Mission

In reply to Kelsey Sarah Champlain (msg # 618):

We never went anywhere, honest! But become active again, for sure.

It's settled. Or almost. I'll see if we can get another player or two but if not I'm happy with the roster as it is. Over the next little bit I'll do some work to get details sorted out.

At the moment I think your unit will be tasked with assisting ongoing undercover operations to halt cross-border arms and contraband smuggling. This will mean preferably capturing some kind of shipment and making arrests in the further interests of intelligence gathering. Outright ambush or destruction is to be avoided if possible.

Second, to enforce sovereignty over the border by halting US Army incursions preferably by making contact and making the Canadian government's displeasure known. While the Canadian government does not recognise any renegade elements of the US military (aka MILGOV) as any form of legitimate government of the USA, sparking a shooting war is still to be avoided if at all possible.

Third, If possible effect recovery of property stolen from Canadian citizens seized in past cross-border excursions by MILGOV troops. Permission has been granted by the US government (aka CIVGOV) for Canadian units to travel into Washington State in order to determine where the American raiders came from, who is the commander of the local renegade US Army forces effect the last two objectives.

Thanks,

Tony

This game, or to be more correct it's predecessor is what got me into play by post.

Tony is a fantastic ST/DM/ETC

A little less of the whole really dangerous firefights that go completely sideways would be fantastic!  But since we are likely going to be working against US MILGOV... likely unavoidable, they feel they are superiour to Canadian Forces.  What do we say to that?  "Je me souviens" mes camarades.

We going to push this forward a little timeline wise?

Re: Change of Mission

In reply to Kelsey Sarah Champlain (msg # 621):

Hi Lee,

Thanks for the kind words!

Hopefully, you don't spark a conflict with the troops occupying the area to the south. At least in trying to get your point across.

This activity in common in Canada and is known as "sovereignty patrol". Except it's used in another vast wastleand: the North. Basically, we established a minimal government infrastructure in the North and then leave enforcing sovereignty to the people who live there: the Ranger Patrol Groups, reservists of the Inuit and Dene peoples. They were given red caps and red jerseys and armed with (I kid you not) Lee-Enfield rifles chambered for .303. Leftovers from WWII and postwar, the venerable LE was a suitably rugged rifle for the north. The last of the Lee-Enfields have been withdrawn and replaced by a Finnish Sako rifle built under licence by Colt Canada.

Anyways, I don't see a need to move time ahead by much. Last we heard, a large arms shipment was expected within weeks.

I'm also not going to be doing much on rpol until after the weekend as I am running a Car Wars game at my club's annual convention.

Thanks,

Tony

Re: Change of Mission

I may be able to get back into this game on a limited basis.  My schedule is tight during the week but, I may be able to return if that's OK?  Maybe background until I can dedicate more time?
