Re: Change of Mission

In reply to Christopher Little Hawk MacDonald (msg # 645):

No problem, I'll get him sorted out.

To clarify, no extra equipment dice or promotion allowed for the extra Final Year. I don't think here are really any tangible benefits to promotions anyways and retroactive promotions for established characters makes no sense anyways.

Agreed, Mahatatain is a good bloke and I would join his game if I could!

Thanks,

Tony

I guess I could use help with what to do with this year, until I can find my copy of the book!  I looked at all my drives and I might just buy it on Drive Thru and be done with it.

EDIT... went ahead and bought it on Drive thru.. cause I am excited to play again.  =)

I remember that kind of thing back when I played T2K PBEMs on Yahoo groups.  Small community and you see the same people all the time.

In reply to Kelsey Sarah Champlain (msg # 655):

Yeah, this game when it gets going is still not going to do more than a couple posts a week from me! I'll do what I can to get characters updated this weekend, but it's my daughter's birthday party tomorrow and lots of logistics are needed for the party. (Her actual birthday was the 1st, or "Mayday", aka "Traveller Day".

And groovy is totally still a thing! For Ash, I guess.

She turned 4! Sorry, I meant to say her actual birthday was Wednesday 01 May, aka "May Day" or "Traveller Day". She likes PJ Masks (cartoons/figures) astronauts and Hot Wheels cars!

Re: Change of Mission

In reply to Kelsey Sarah Champlain (msg # 662):

My daughter is a little young for the latter, I'm afraid. But she does like dogs!

The party was a smash, really large (so I'm told). Over 40 kids and parents showed up, the weather was nice and we were in a gated area so no fear of kids running off. There were family friends, her friends, school friends and even a friend she made through an autism spectrum disorder program she volunteers at (well, we volunteer her for it).

Anyways, the characters I was working on (finishing up with Chris, full builds for Keith and Percival) are done! All previous characters can have 2 months of training (1 point per month) on almost any skill (the main base at UBC enclave is at a university, after all). PM me you choices, and you need to make a COG check to succeed in learning. Attribute checks are 2d20, take the lowest, and you have to roll under or equal the attribute in question, in this case Cognition.

After that I'll do some checks for team cohesion and integration as Taras has left the team and Percival is joining.

Thanks,

Tony

I haven't played in that long for this game and don't remember.  I thought it was rolled up on V2.2

I totally remember your character... but I don't recall the last time you played it, or when we converted.

This is a pretty old game =)  11 years this January?

Already done for Keith.

We've been using T2013 rules (but not background) for characters and personal combat for a while now. I have also supplemented the rules with the advanced damage table from the Phoenic Command Combat System (PCCS) and used the Phoenix Command Mechanised Combat System (PCMCS) for resolving vehicle combat.

As mentioned, your character has been converted to T2013! He fairly closely matches the T2K 2.2 version, which was the original version.

Well, that makes my day not having to do that.  I'll just try to play the character, just feed me the rules as they need be applied.

Yes and yes, of course!

PCCS and PCMCS are not too bad if you are not doing it face-to-face. When you have the time they give excellent system-neutral results. But you need the time and be willing to look up a few charts. T2013's vehicle combat system is broken (it was incorrectly ported over from T2K2.2) so I needed something to run the tank duel between the T-54 and the AVGP Cougar/Carl Gustav! Although I suppose I can always use the T2K2.2 system instead.

Skills checks are made by rolling 1 or more d20s (depending on your skill rating), taking the lowest result, and comparing the results to a paired Attribute (which is your TN). Matching or getting under means success and the lower you roll under the better your Margin of Success. If you roll successes with the additional d20s you get an even greater MoS.

For example, Keith is rated as an Expert (4d20L) in Longarm skill and the paired Attribute is Coordination (COR). To hit with ranged Longarm attacks he rolls 4d20, taking the lowest result and compares that to his COR of 10. The lower you roll the better and each additional die that would have made it adds to the success.
