Abbot will listen to to try to determine what kind of vehicle is up the road. Wheeled? Tracked? Heavy? Light?

Tracked, but not tank-sized. Probably an APC or carrier like a Bradley, BMP or BMD.

Re: OOC4

The 47th ID is a unit that supports the military junta that opposes a return to civilian rule in the USA. There is no open conflict between Canada and the territory controlled by the so-called "MILGOV" even though Canada is now firmly allied with the US federal government.

There is no open contact between Washington State and the Canadian government. This complicates security co-operation, especially as Canada has not moved to control the border in the west as of yet. As time goes on more surviving civilians have come to view the quasi-permanent state of martial law as being a military dictatorship, unrest has been growing and morale in the 47th ID has been suffering. Law enforcement speculates this is now the main source of military grade weapons of US manufacture showing up in the hands of various outlaws and criminal groups. Either through theft by US army personnel for sale on the black market. Possibly even the arming of paramilitary groups to aid in maintaining control of the populace.

Unofficially, you are aware that the CIA (with the tacit support of Canadian intelligence) is running operations from BC "over the fence" to take advantage and even foment resistance to military rule. Belanger and the DRI was involved with this, as well as American personnel such as Gunny Conklin and Lt. Stone. Unofficially.

And seeing as his immediate superior is one of the people needing medical attention, and the radios are jammed... prisoners are not so likely to be released.

Ouch, we gave em some pretty serious losses...

To clarify, the US army medic was heading up the road on foot to examine the wounded. He was stopped by a verbal order from the Sgt. en route as he was passing, and has now turned back towards his own unit (the elephants).

In reply to Taras Vladimirovich Shevchenko (msg # 212):

You have more wounded/prisoners than are seemingly accounted for: 9 unwounded prisoners (5-6 hardcore-looking ones), 4 wounded prisoners (2 critically wounded, including the HVT "Brownstone"), and 3 wounded friendlies (Conklin, Sheeler and Belanger).

We are leaving the dead bodiues behind and piling up the rest in our joyous caravan...

I believe is a short ride to Ft. Langley. We'll be back in a few hours to collect the cold cuts and the stinky humvee from the septic, etc.

Lowering or trying to drive down into the cut is going to take time, and it's getting dark now. Is anyone going to set up security?

I think as many people as possible should dismount and cover the area.  Cuts down on vehicle accident casualties and spreads our influence.

Absolutely.  I have seen in person what can happen to a load of people on a flipped vehicle.

How do they egress a flipped armored vehicle that doesn't have readily displayed doors.  M113, etc.  Do you have to dig your way out of a tank?  Or is that something that's not really survivable?

If we can flip a tank I would be impressed.  This is a fairly tame slope and the tank has a low center of gravity. The others may be less stable.

In reply to Stanley Alistair Abbot (msg # 221):

That was more of a real-world question.  They occasionally move armored vehicles through my district, and it's been a topic of discussion.  Admittedly, it's speculative, but still a topic for discussion.

I have not been asked to gain access to an armored vehicle to date.
