Good question, you will need to wait a period of time, perhaps hours, for the fire to die down enough to find out anything more useful.

Ha ha! I'm such an idiot. Abbot's player had asked if I had made a post in the wrong thread and I thought he meant OOC vs. IC. I just realised he meant the wrong IC thread. Going forward, please post to the current thread, thanks.

A note to jog your memory, late last night you found Old Willie had been assaulted but couldn't remember anything.

The elephants were missing, both the healthy and the wounded one.

Without them, Willie will not be happy about you staying at the fort (although it is Crown land). The likeliest culprits were the elephant-mounted American patrol you encountered yesterday. You heard they were en route to the nearby farming community of Langley.

And I for one am worried about those elephants! One of them was quite badly injured and needs veterinary care. Went to the trouble of getting some resources to find out about how to treat elephants... came back and no elephants :(

Re: OOC4

In reply to Taras Vladimirovich Shevchenko (msg # 434):

Man, it was a beautiful day on Wednesday, the day after a storm and the day before another one. Michelle, Gianna, mom and I went down to the Westie's armoury for the ceremony. Mom was surprised at the singing of God Save the Queen, although I guess it makes sense as soldiers swear their oath to the Crown and not to Canada per se. The Canadian Forces PCs of Canadian or British citizenship would have sworn the following oath at some point:

I, [name], do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successors. So help me God. (A person may choose to replace the word swear with affirm, and to omit the phrase so help me God. The oath taker is also given the option of either swearing on a holy book or not.)

Non-Canadians or Britons would have said the following:

"I, [name], do swear (or solemnly affirm) that I will well and truly serve Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of Canada, Her heirs and successors according to law, in the Canadian Forces until lawfully released, that I will resist Her Majesty's enemies and cause Her Majesty's peace to be kept and maintained and that I will, in all matters pertaining to my service, faithfully discharge my duty. So help me God." (The words So help me God are omitted if a solemn affirmation is taken.)

Re: OOC4

I guess it's time to see what we got in terms of manpower, equipment, vehicles, etc.

My character stands at:

Staff Sargent Taras V. Shevchenko - Knight element
AKS-74U (30/30) +4 mags
S&W 5946 (15/15) +2 mags
Handgrenade RG-5 (6)
RPO-A (x1)
POMZ-2 (x1)

I shall take a look at the ammo levels of the Cougar. Quite a bit was gone in the last firefight and follow-on ops on the clubhouse.

Tony, any clue on what my NPCs (driver and gunner) are carrying?

Darek also is rocking an AKS-74U. I can't easily find Darek's gear list. Assume he also has 6x AK-74 mags, 2x frag, 2 smoke, 1x WP, 4x hand flares. Plus a P-64 pistol and 2 spare mags.

Able Seaman Lo has an MP5A3 (8x spare mags) or Mossberg shotgun (40x spare rounds). Sidearm is a Sig-Sauer P226 wtih 2x spare mags. 4x C13 frag grenades, 2x M18 Smoke and 4x hand flares. He's also picked up an M7A3 tear gas grenade.

Re: OOC4

Great, thanks for the info. Looks like we have a well armed crew.

I took my time to go back to the last time we used the Cougar in combat. The ammo count for the main gun was:

76 ammo:
(2/5) HESH-T (+10 in the reserve)
(7/9) Canister
(5/7) Smoke
(2/5) HE-T
(3/3) Illumination

The machine gun (C-6 GPMG) in the turret still has 100 rounds. As well, the rear cargo compartment has another 7 of the POMZ-2 the Russian-made, stake-mounted, anti-personnel fragmentation mines.

Re: OOC4

Quick note on Darek's kit: The P-64 is a neat and tiny pistol modeled after the Walther PP/K series. I do believe though the official sidearm for tank crews would be the PM-63. Along with the better known Czechoslovakian Vz 61 "Skorpion" belong to a type of weapons that two decades later will be "rediscovered" as PDW.

In reply to Taras Vladimirovich Shevchenko (msg # 441):

I agree, the PM-63 "Rak" seems to be the standard Polish tank crew sidearm. It can be kept in a pistol holster.

You need some NPCs for overwatch or other boring duties. Andy is an NPC at this point, I suggest also taking Fox as well,

Fox has a C7A1 rifle with optical sight, 2x M72s, 4x C13 frags, 2x Mk. 34 WP, 2x M18 smoke.

Andy still has his Parker-Hale C3A1 sniper rifle. He also brought along the M82 Barrett you recovered from YVR, I think.

On that note, Tremblay is also available. He is armed with a C8A1/Elcan optical sight, plus he also has an ERYX.
