Hmmm so a boat based person of some sort... boating, maybe boat maintenance?

Re: Change of Mission

I'm intending someone along the armourer or mechanic lines. I'd rather fix stuff than break it :)

Re: Change of Mission

In reply to Andrew Montgomery McRae (msg # 698):

I had a blast in Rae's Pirates game playing a heavy weapons specialist who was also reasonably well-spoken. Not useful in every circumstance but when the bullets started to fly someone packing a GPMG or manning the boat-mounted heavy weapons was always handy.

Very true Tony, it makes all the difference. If you want to Lurk over on the game I think your advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Re: Change of Mission

In reply to Keith Michael Tremblay (msg # 703):

I joined Pirates just after start, so not quite an original but almost! The crew was assembled but the boat not yet launched, as I recall.

And yes, looks like a new edition of T2K coming out. This time using the 2.2 timeline and the house system from Mutant: Year Zero.

Tony

I joined at the first village and played until the bitter end. First character was killed in an artillery attack so played on with a second.

In reply to Thomas Matthew Andrews (msg # 706):

I may as well follow up on 4th ed. T2K:

http://gametyrant.com/news/the...t-2000-is-on-the-way

It's wonderful to see everyone still interested and paying attention! I'm finally getting up to speed on all my other games. I don't see why we can't go for a restart on this game soon!

(I might want to covert the game to 4th edition depending on how the rules are, but that's neither here nor there.)

Thanks,

Tony

Re: Change of Mission

That would be good :)

But don't wear yourself out. You have quite a lot on the go (I play in several of your games, they're all good).

There's a free e-zine on Drivethru from GDW called You're On Your Own, a couple of issues posted in the last couple of days, and they've included a press release about the plans for T2K 4e with the download.

So it's a D6 system ? Has anyone played any of the other games by this company ?

Re: Change of Mission

In reply to Thomas Matthew Andrews (msg # 709):

To be clear I wouldn't want to put effort into converting to 4th ed. until I know more about it. The emchanics seem to be D6 equal to skill plus D6 equal to governing attribute plus D6 equipment bonus, if applicable, to form a dice pool. Every 6 is a success, most likely degrees of success are important. This is a bit of a change for

What sounds cool is the "hexcrawling" travel/exploration system and settlement-building mechanism. Although, as as operations team you are tasked more with carrying out assignments than scrounging for food, medicine and building supplies!

Re: Change of Mission

Part of the idea is that although people may be of a military background, even where they are due to having been in the service, they are now fending for themselves rather than being part of a unit following orders.

I just downloaded the free pdf's to see what the system is like.  Not sure if they're all the same, yet

It's a modified version of Mutant Year Zero. Presumably made more gritty and realistic.

Re: OOC4

In reply to Keith Michael Tremblay (msg # 717):

For a long time Tremblay was NPCd and I guess I forgot to change the tag. With Cork's return we area also bringing a new player onboard, we are just getting him finished up now.

To recap, your team performed a recce of the border areas and found evidence that someone was using the Abbotsford/Sumas crossing on a regular basis, and not just for legitimate travel and trade. (Your concern is not the odd load of turnips or salvage going back and forth between small parties but arms and drug shipments.) Your assignment will be to disrupt and intercept/interdict said shipments.

Thanks,

Tony
