"Who's going to do that, eh? Me? You? Are we going to use our minds?

"Just let us know."

Re: Unauthorised Entry

Ah, do you remember that old tune of "The Beatles"?

What would you think if I sang out of tune
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm gonna try with a little help from my friends

Yeah! lets use the Cougar and pull away the barricades! Darek! Come on over!

Madness invoked he continued the serenade:

Oh I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm gonna try with a little help from my friends

Re: Unauthorised Entry

Standing on the highway Thomas had finished scanning its length in both directions as well as the margins. He let his field glasses rest on the strap as he waited by the Humvee glancing at the radar dome every now and again.

If they wanted to move the barriers on the road Thomas is happy to lend a hand at getting them out of the way.

"Ha ha! Maybe you should get someone other than Darek to do it? I have to stay here, I'm driving.

"Thomas looks like he's out and ready to help."

Re: Unauthorised Entry

In reply to Wayne Lo (msg # 411):

Climbing out of the Cougar's turret Darek replied, good-naturedly, "yeah, shit, I'm doing this myself? Thanks, Taras!"

He lit a cigarette while getting the winch out. Then began attaching it to the cement traffic barrier to pull it out of the way.

Once the barriers were clear there was still a roll of razor wire immediately behind that, stapled to metal supports sunk into the soft shoulders on either side of the road.

Re: Unauthorised Entry

Wonderful! wonderful! Sorry to bug you my Polish friend!

The burly Ukrainian always like to make a little fun of historic issues and picking up on poor Darek, pulling rank, etc. In History, the interwar period would eventually see independent Poland while the Ukrainians had no state of their own, being divided between Poland and the Soviet Union. This led to a deterioration of Polish-Ukrainian relations, and would result in a flare-up of ethnic tensions during and immediately after World War II (massacres of Poles in Volhynia and Operation Vistula being the most infamous). While this left the Polish-Ukrainian relations in the mid-20th century in a relatively poor state, there was little meaningful and independent diplomacy and contact between the Poland and the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.

Kelsey calls for a halt and kneels, looking around a moment before radioing.

"Taras, what's our reason for breaking in here?  We after any leftover tech?  Looks like this place is just the way it was left since the bomb dropped."

Is government property so were are taking it back. That's a radar over there. Let's see if there are climate records of sorts. Our friends with the SA-8 can help us to put it back into service in the near future.

In reply to Darek Sochacki (msg # 412):

"Here let me give you a hand. You do the controls and I'll hook them up." Thomas swings his rifle onto his back as he takes the winch hook and uses it to move the barriers to the side so they can pass. Then he goes and sees how well the razor wire supports are sunk into the ground, pulling them out and dragging the to the other side of the road if he is able.

I should try reaching Capt. Bezhov, he is Air Defense and could set up a team to reactivate the station.

"Thanks for the help my friend," Darek said to Andrews. Quickly, he got to work. He unslung his AK74-SU and propped it against a barricade, out of the way.

Re: Unauthorised Entry

With the three men working together, they quickly cleared the barricades and opened a gap in the wire for the vehicles to pass through.

Meanwhile, Taras was able to raise HQ on the net, who said they could pass a message on to Bezhov's unit.

HQ will be in charge to get a hold of the Captain and probably will organize a reconstruction team for this facility. But lets see what we can find around so it can be secured.

Everyone mounted up. The vehicles made their way through the gap in the traffic barriers and razor wire.

They were soon at the gate of the radar station, which was open. Just inside Mac and Kel were waiting. Radiation seemed to be nominal. Present but not especially high.

GM Note: unless someone posts something about it, the gap in the traffic barrier will remain open.

Steeping down from the humvee Thomas takes in the structure and surrounding land before him. It has certainly seen its share war, but how effective that fire had been remains to be seen.

He will join the others on their search of the building.
