In reply to Stanley Alistair Abbot (msg # 909):

Too late! If you were serious you could trade him for it. I don't think you are, but that would be funny!

You know, I've never seen a Katana actually used in a post-holocaust RPG. Like, some players say their PCs have them, never use them. As well, bows and crossbows. In the end guns are just too efficient.

In reply to Stanley Alistair Abbot (msg # 911):

I will add Nunchuks and Ninja throwing stars to his inventory.

Imagine my chagrin when I heard it recently argued that Nunchuks are a garbage weapon almost as harmful to their wielder as the target! But why are they so popular despite looking so cool... ah, I see. Also throwing stars are useful, but rarely deadly.

You only need a tiger claw stance. Is deadly and even when you're naked, you're still armed.

Re: OOC5: Son (or Daughter) of OOC

When I was in university, there was a fellow very much into martial arts weapons who was rarely seen without his nunchuks... until the day he mistimed a swing and caught himself full force in, well, you can guess where. He went off nunchuks rather quickly after that!

Nadolig Llawen/Merry Christmas to all.

And you all as well!

Mac wants to go into Aldergrove to see the vet.

If anyone wants to go along, please post in the IC thread. If not it'll be Kel and Rachel (NPCs).

Well, so far so good with 2022! Ha ha!

Want me to say that Mac makes it to Aldergrove and finds the vet and returns with her this evening? Or wait until the next day?

As a true soldier I'm all for the easy life, happy to have reached Aldergrove and found the veterinarian. Up to her if she wants to leave at once or come in the morning.

Looks like those flechette rockets would work well against zombies!

Does anyone have a plan for the next day? You need to return the vet to Aldergrove.

Maybe we could be sending out some patrols. Talk to any locals we meet and collect intel.

Abbott is up for going out on patrol.  It beats garrison duties and replacing windows.

That's great, thank you. It will be a hearts and minds kind of approach to collect intel on the gang, show the flag and move on shortly after to avoid losing the surprise factor.

Thank you. We'll need a leading element and that will do. Also a low profile vehicle highly maneuverable. Then, presto.

The DRI UA's are set up in Port Kells.

Specifically, the "Baron's Manor". It was a large home purchased by a German immigrant, Baron Carl Von Mackensen, in 1910. He was relocated to an internment camp in 1914 and then deported in 1919.

Re: OOC5: Son (or Daughter) of OOC

I see that Andrews and Abbot volunteered to go on the recce.

Please post this in the IC thread!

Is Taras going as well? How about Mac? For the small vehicles at your disposal you have Tremblay's Humvee and Eric's technical. There is also the 10-ton, and Father Nick's mule! (I assume you are taking the Humvee.)

Kel is an NPC, as is Eric. Other NPCs include the Coyote crew (Darek and Alice), Eric's driver Matty. Plus Tremblay, Fox, Lee, and Conklin. They can stay and guard the base, and use the Coyote for surveillance of the Trans-Canada (the fort is on a hill and even thought it's kilometers away it does overlook much of the highway). If there is trouble they will form a QRF with the Coyote (Kel, Darek, Alice) with the technical (Eric, Matty, Lee). Tremblay, Fox and Conklin will hold the fort.
