Re: OOC5: Son (or Daughter) of OOC

In reply to Christopher Little Hawk MacDonald (msg # 934):

Canadian IMPs were developed after the MRE and so learned from them. Subsequently, they tend to get high marks. But you probably do have some MREs to use.

As for a vehicle, the technical probably is a little more subtle than the Humvee. But there are plenty of Humvees in local civilian hands (sold off or abandoned by American units) as they are capable if fuel-thirsty vehicles. Plus, the technical is the private property of Eric and so if you want to borrow it you should ask.

I'm happy with the three volunteers pivking up an SUV and getting on the road for a day. If they're capable of getting 2-3 local families to spill yhe beans any intel will be most welcome.

You don't really have an SUV assigned to the team other than the Humvee. Eric would prefer to go along if you want to use his technical.

Re: OOC5: Son (or Daughter) of OOC

Sure, that will do. Even a lesser visual impact than a humvee works well for me.

In my experience in Bosnia, for civilians to come across military vehicles  even in yhrir own "side" could have a traumatic effect.

Question:  Did we ever go back out the the highway and salvage the fuel and spare parts from the crashed f-150?

In reply to Stanley Alistair Abbot (msg # 939):

I think it's reasonable for this kind of salvage work to have been done the previous day.

The vehicle is totaled. However, it could be put back into some kind of driveable condition if you could straighten the frame and wheels. This would require a full auto-shop.

Ok, so who is going? Andrews, Abbot, Mac, Eric. Taras should go, may as well have all the active PCs.

That's cool.  I was thinking any fuel left in the tank, battery, engine parts/filters, any spare tire/jack.  We could pull the bench seat out for a couch in the team room.

Too many cowboys too few horses.
I'd rather left Taras at home. If not that means another vehicle and that complicate things a bit.

In reply to Taras Vladimirovich Shevchenko (msg # 942):

Realistically, you as a player won't have anything to do while this situation plays out. I'd think Taras would like to personally liaison with the assets to establish contact. I won't force you obviously, but be prepared for a bit of waiting!

It'll be fine!

Or, they could come to you? That might work out even better. You can contact them via HQ, arrange a meeting.

Happy birthday btw! :-)

Yeah, I was thinking about sending the boys to check out the civilians while Taras can get to contact the "assets" that is Koldan et cia.

Dunno how that can be done. Radio contact? They were keft out in the boonies for quite awhile. They may went rogue. Lol!

If Taras wants to go on the road trip, Mac can stay at home being domestic & nursing the elephants.

They can meet you at the fort or in Fort Langley township. A message can be sent via HQ.

I'll post in-game this is what happens.

I forgot to mention something Taras was told at his meeting at local DRI HQ at UBC: the reason his team is instructed to not follow any leads south of the border is because that's bein handed off to "the Americans" (i.e. the CIA) to handle domestically with their own assets and agents.

Ah sorry, I misunderstood.

Which civilians? At the Rez? (MacMillan Island.)

And between Mac, Abbot and Andrews, I'd say probably Abbott. (Seems like both have similar seniority.)

A "CFLer", which is also what we call a professional football player in the CFL.

So is Andrews, for that matter!

In reply to Taras Vladimirovich Shevchenko (msg # 956):

Eric did, but he also needed to give the vet a ride home in Aldergrove. I guess this could be combined with this little recce.

Do you have a suggested route and/or a destination? If you go any farther east you will be approaching Abbotsford. An alternative suggestion would be to go south and then east to deliver the vet back home to Aldergrove. Then continue south to the border, back west and then north to Langley, another farm community and one you have not visited.

I cannot narrate this without a route!

Maddie (driver)
Eric (gunner)
Abbott (front passenger)
Andrews (rear passenger)
Mac (rear passenger)

You are in Fort Langley in the centre of the map:

Yes, lazy posting!

I'll post some further input for the route. Makes sense to combine the effort with the vet issue.

Great! While Abbotsford and east are important, I don't think you've checked out Langley yet, which is more of less in your rear.
