Re: 2010 Out of Character Conversations

As I said, the opening posts of the Restart might be a little "clunky" or "heavy," but they will help to move us forward (and they will get better).

In the Restart/Wrap-up to Theets of Kakou are
Kuuhaku
Kasumi
Daikihina
(and non-returning PC)

while in the Restart/Wrap-up of The Road to Kakou are
Zheng-Ze
Ishikawa Chizuru
Tenba Ichiro
O'

Soon (perhaps within hours), I will have a combined thread for us all and the game will take off full speed.

Re: 2010 Out of Character Conversations

How do you each feel about making the Prologues Public ?  Basically that means that visitors can see/read and that the PMs become readable by all also.  I also can Archive them, but don't know what special status that creates, if any.

Opinions?

If you're partial to the color, you can have it. I'll do the dark green thing, if nobody else takes it. I'd rather have something that makes my character look distinct in the backscroll along with something easy to read.

Speaking of diplomacy, what skills do people bring to the table (might be useful to know in the future)?  I've got stealth skills, tumble, Knowledge (religion) [mostly as a prereq for my PrC, but it has actually popped up so...], and I'm throwing some ranks in heal (nice to have for emergencies, and I did get a nice untrained check in the prologue; too bad the baddies showed up and chased us off before we could interrogate their buddy I saved from death...) and survival (so I can pick up track when I find a spare feat slot)

The good news is that the laptop fix is not super expensive, and I should have it back after work today.  No promises about when I'll post (since that seems to jinx things), but I'll do my very best to reward your patience as the game continues.

Re: Out Off Character - Off Topic

Just reposting this for easier reference:
Uriki Kunijenka:
" My prayerful question unto them was 'Where are the children abducted from the Orphanage of the Illuminated Way?'
As is the way of the Spirit Realm, the answer from them is both clear and cryptic. It says:

The locks are key to finding them.
Look beyound the curtain, below the cauldron.
Beware the doors with teeth.
Descend into the malachite hold.
Half a man binds them, but not for long.

"It says 'the locks are key,' so yes, loyal Kasumi-san,"
Uriki-sama makes a reference to the Nezumi's suggestion to start at the orphanage, "it is my belief that if we can figure out how the orphanage locks were overcome, then we have a strong start."

"No.  As you see, our group is rather large, so we can afford to split up and cover more ground.  Chizuru though (quite wisely) to check the alleyway and I accompanied her.  Based upon how quickly the dog objected to our presence and your confirmation of it's longstanding presence, I guess we can rule out the alleyway as a means of entry or egress," Kuuhaku explains.  He looks to the others, "So that leaves the front door and magic, unless I've forgotten another means?"

OOC: Hmm, speaking of which, anyone capable of checking the rooms for traces of magic residue (indication of teleportation <sp?> or something else...)

I also play PF. I've found it to be an excellent successor/add-on to D&D 3.5, and the module series are especially high quality.

I enjoy 4E as well, but its simply not the same 'feel' as I get from 2E and 3.5/PF, so I can understand some people getting a bad taste from it.

Low. You'd have to adjust to an easier and simplified skills system, and double-check spells before you cast them to see if they've been changed. The grapple/trip/overrun rules all work on the same system as well, which is pretty simple to learn. I'd guess 2-4 sessions to figure out and remember most of the changes.
