Re: 2010 Out of Character Conversations

Speaking of diplomacy, what skills do people bring to the table (might be useful to know in the future)?  I've got stealth skills, tumble, Knowledge (religion) [mostly as a prereq for my PrC, but it has actually popped up so...], and I'm throwing some ranks in heal (nice to have for emergencies, and I did get a nice untrained check in the prologue; too bad the baddies showed up and chased us off before we could interrogate their buddy I saved from death...) and survival (so I can pick up track when I find a spare feat slot)

Re: skills?

In classic arcane fashion, Zheng-Ze's skills are mostly concentration and knowledge with a little bit of Listening and Spot ability.

Re: skills?

Well, like my character said, I mostly AM here to look good and hurt things. Skills are hide, Iaijutsu focus, move silently, open lock, perform (dance), Sleight of Hand, and Tumble. I suppose I can sneak around and be roguish too.

Re: skills?

Ummmmmmmmmmmm, comedic relief?
(Half-ogre barbarian+skills = ROFLOL)
I can probably open doors, unless DM house rules applying strength to intimidate...
OHHHH, let's not forget illiteracy! O' can do illiteracy.

Kasumi offers spells and healing, just don't expect much from him in fight he's small and very weak.

Kuuhaku:
<orange>OOC: Hmm, the vials of potion we were given have the mark of our 'employers' correct...might score some points by flashing them to back up or line of reasoning (and get a second shot...

Excellent idea!  But chances are Zheng-ze is across the street by now (if O agreed)

At the Orphanage

Ichiro, roll me a diplomacy check (please and thank you).

Great idea about presenting something "official looking."

Kuuhaku and Chizuru, let me know if you might look for anything specific and/or roll  spot or search checks.

Re: skills?

THANK YOU, everyone, for your patience.

I've been saying that WAY too much lately and for that I apologize. I dug out from snowstorm this past week (a little bit more physical labor than I intended to do but being a good neighbor always pays dividends).

We have another one coming tomorrow, but all caught up at work, so should have some game time.

I'm posting this quickly in my other games, and I'll be back tomorrow with some postings that move us forward.

Again, thank you for your patience!

Re: skills?

My in game posts assumes that anyone who wants to be in the room (with the exception of Kuuhaku and Chizuru who are "around back" dealing with a dog) can be listening to the conversation inside the Orphanage.

Just a quick note that I'll be unable to respond to posts until Monday or so.  Sorry for the inconvenience!

Re: skills?

no problem.  I think you and Kuuhaku are of similar mindset when it comes to the alleyway strategy, so any actions taken by him should work out well for the both of you.

We hope to see you Monday.

Re: skills?

I definitely didn't build my character to be the face, in spite of his high charisma rating. Hopefully you guys don't mind me playing him as occasionally uncouth or brash.

Re: skills?

Hey, gang, I know it's been a Comedy of Errors lately with my posting rate.  My power source died on the computer Monday afternoon and work has been too busy for me to sneak in some posts. (Doing this one at lunch, but can't spread out the gaming material at the moment...)  So, once again, I find myself apologizing...

The good news is that the laptop fix is not super expensive, and I should have it back after work today.  No promises about when I'll post (since that seems to jinx things), but I'll do my very best to reward your patience as the game continues.

Happy Friday!

P.S.
I appreciate a mix of personalities played with maturity. So far, so good...

FYI: Rearranged the last two posts (mine and Kasumi's) to create a slightly better flow.

Re: Out Off Character - Off Topic

Just reposting this for easier reference:
Uriki Kunijenka:
" My prayerful question unto them was 'Where are the children abducted from the Orphanage of the Illuminated Way?'
As is the way of the Spirit Realm, the answer from them is both clear and cryptic. It says:

The locks are key to finding them.
Look beyound the curtain, below the cauldron.
Beware the doors with teeth.
Descend into the malachite hold.
Half a man binds them, but not for long.

"It says 'the locks are key,' so yes, loyal Kasumi-san,"
Uriki-sama makes a reference to the Nezumi's suggestion to start at the orphanage, "it is my belief that if we can figure out how the orphanage locks were overcome, then we have a strong start."

Re: Out Off Character - Off Topic

Kuuhaku:
"No.  As you see, our group is rather large, so we can afford to split up and cover more ground.  Chizuru though (quite wisely) to check the alleyway and I accompanied her.  Based upon how quickly the dog objected to our presence and your confirmation of it's longstanding presence, I guess we can rule out the alleyway as a means of entry or egress," Kuuhaku explains.  He looks to the others, "So that leaves the front door and magic, unless I've forgotten another means?"

OOC: Hmm, speaking of which, anyone capable of checking the rooms for traces of magic residue (indication of teleportation <sp?> or something else...)

Don't forget psionics! =P

Re: Out Off Character - Off Topic

I actually think the 'psionics is different' is kind of stupid.  IMO, Arcane, Divine, and Psionic magic are just different ways of approaching the same thing...

Re: Out Off Character - Off Topic

Honestly, I always think its kind of weird that people who live in a high-magic fantasy world like D&D don't ALWAYS assume that the solution to any kind of mystery is some kind of magic.

Re: Out Off Character - Off Topic

Hmm, unless they see it like we see Super-Spy technology maybe?  It *could* happen but is "our little problem" worth that kind of attention? But if there's a mage on every corner, then THAT would be different.

Will the first three people who read this please roll a d20 +/- any Charisma modifiers ?  And then post the results here.  Thank you.
