Re: Titan Down: search and rescue

"Oh this, it's just something they threw together for me."
I did have a nice Tamhane special, Legacy Edition Had it shaped by S'mai over on Thuderhead. Cost me a years pay but if fit real nice, and had a great response time on the peripherals...You know how good those crafters on Thuderhead are...do everything... "
Poppy actually blushed bright red. Seeming to realize she was babbling, as she brushed off her body armor and adjusted the twin heavy machine pistol slung low on her hips....<sigh> but then some bug went and trashed it...I hope she died painfully."

Oh! a series 850! I havent met one of thos in years.!
She glanced at the core they had been working on and quickly changed subjects. moving t join the others as they moved forward digging into he satchel and coming out with flashlights, and a orb the size of a softball tossing it into the air. The orb lit up with the intensity of a handheld lamp.
She slid close to T'risa and M'kira as she strolled alongside them" Hey do either of you have anything nice..I mean clothes, and some make up I look like a mess." She whispered as she glanced over her shoulder and smiled at Syxis.

"Understood T'risa." M'kira was eager to find the prometheus core. It would be something else if they could talk with him even if it was for a little while. Besides T'risa was talking about instaling him on the dreadnought. She Fancied being on it even if it was for a little while.

"My powered armor takes care of my visual needs however we might as well use lights since not all of us can see." If needed she adds a little light to the mix however between Poppy and Leoulin's efforts she has a feeling they have enough light for the most part.

Laughing and smiling she looks over at Leoulin with a grin. "So your literally to hot to handle." "Listening to Poppy she gives her a look of sympathy. While it's true she's talking about her own body. She could understand it from the perspective of having a incredibly pricey dress get trashed. Then having to make due with whatever you had on hand. "Well I know what we need to help get you for your birthday Poppy. A new Tamhane special or something better depending on what you want." She was amused by her friends blush moving along with the group. Her eyes scanning the area for anything dangerous.

Pausing when Poppy Whispers to her a smile blossoms whispering back. "Our colors a bit off for our make up to work well for you as our skin is naturally bluish. However I think we can work something out. I definitely can lend you some clothing Poppy."

"I arrived on this planet with only three sets of fatigues to my name. If you really want a pair I can give you one, but they're starting to fade." T'risa commented to Poppy. "Thank you Leo... lets go rescue!" T'risa was thankful for the light as they moved deeper into the wreckage, before pausing to let Poppy catch up "Actually...I may well indeed have something for you, something I forgot about. It's more clubwear than nice...but if you want to borrow it, I'd be happy to lend it."

Re: Titan Down: search and rescue

Moving into the Titans hull the group can see that the rip in it's hull appears to be from the hull impacting the ground. the climbing and squirming is speeded up by a few deft slices and cuts from Leo, and the raw strength of Elspeth opower armor enhanced hands.

A short time later the group is in the hallways of one secondary area of the ship, most likely a living space for the crew of the Dreadnaught. Oddly it is well appointed for a ship ran by androids and cyberoids, posters, pictures and artwork hang or lay on the floor, the rec-area has a collection of video games and simulator booths, and setting in the middle of the floor is a holo-table labeled command network.

Cool, thanks Boss, your a life saver..... "Fatigues and jumpsuits I got." Poppy whispered with a giggle." anything that shows off my legs...nope....and these are nice legs too, one of the girls back at the camp was a secretary before she transferred to field services...had a really great pair of spares she wore with this really slinky dress...great for distracting the guys at the office but not really good for dirty grimy places....she let me have them in case I need a fresh set...geesh this planet eats up spares like nobodies business... I mean even Balkii needs a new set...and he's a brute."

Despite he rant about cyber fashion her eyes and hands were all business her twin machine pistols tracking smoothly from shadow, to doorway, to hallway, her eyes unblinking as she scanned the same path visually.

Balkiir moved to keep Elspeth flanked, covering the opposite direction as her. his weapon rock steady as they entered the interior of the vessel. He paused and linked his own motion tracker to Elspeth's, and then synched up their data feeds using His HUD to label locations and items of interest for later investigation.
" Gues the flagship gets the luxury package." He commented as he moved a drink machine out of the way tossing a hundred kilo weight around as if it were nothing. " Anyone want some NanoQuench, now in orange and root beer. He tossed a can of the nanogel doped soda to Syxis, and another one at poppy. the warning label reading "NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUPTION"

OOC: NanoQuench
repairs 1d4 Points of damage to inorganics
Has a light effervescent taste with a hint of fruit, floral essences, and heavy metals. or so the label says, It has a slightly metallic after taste....which to most cyberoids is actually slightly refreshing.

Leo scooped up a can himself, "I have to replenish... I don't have a factory... maybe this would be a good field substitute... or just maybe having some extra will help us patch and rescue.  I hope it isn't too much of a jaunt... there's a reason these ships had internal transports like elevator..."

Re: Titan Down: search and rescue

She continues to advance slowly with their group her weapons tracking for anything that needed to be taken out. So far they had no targets which was fine by hear. If the rescue mission was a success with no engagements with something trying to kill them that was a good thing in her book. She smiles at poppy speaking softly to keep it private. "Your welcome from both of us. Your lucky that you can so easily swap out your legs or just about anything else if you need to. Just remember to remind us about your birthday after this. It would be embarrassing to be the only one that didn't have a present for you."

She glances at Balkir for a moment wondering if he had some cybernetic replacements. She asks softly. "Are you saying Balkir has Cybernetic legs? I didn't realize he had any body parts replaced! How can you tell?"

She looks amused when Balkir shows off a bit tossing a heavy item like that. Course she didn't mind that the contents had restorative qualities. Especially for poppy who seemed to take more hits then anyone. At least it was mostly cosmetic damage!

Looking at Leo with a bit of alarm M'kira holds up one gauntleted hand in a slight gesture to wait. "Don't Leo. That stuff is meant for cyberoids. I honestly don't think your digestive system is going to like it. Unless you have nanites that get to it first." She laughs at Poppy's warning hopping that Leo wouldn't be running to the bathroom in a big hurry all of a sudden.

Re: Titan Down: search and rescue

Elsbeth seemed oblivious to the exchange between Poppy and M'kira about Balkiir's legs, remaining completely silent on the topic.  There was, however, a strong empathic feeling of quiet confidence that exuded from the CMC Marine over the shared telepathic link.  A quiet confidence that spoke of certain and intimate knowledge about the strength, composition and injured capacity (or lack thereof) of the Valkiir male's legs.

And despite that chatter around her, Elsbeth was all business.  She took her position at point very seriously.  Stepping lightly as she moved forwards, her eyes darted from display to display.  And using the triangulated views from Balkiir and the others (as coordinated and disseminated by T'risa) she dutifully marked any potential dangers or anomalies or points of interest that she encountered or observed - be they active or passive defenses, debris, hot or cold spots from fires or crack conduits, detritus, bodies or anything else that seemed out of the ordinary.  She marked them mentally over the neural net and schematics, but also called them out, in clipped short phrases and hand gestures to make sure that everyone was aware of them.

Re: Titan Down: search and rescue

The interior beyond the rec room was...a wreck. A hole seemed to pass through the outer hull, barely larger than a mans fist, but it grew in diameter as the path of a heavy projectile grew to a meter wide path of devastation, metal was twisted and melted by a jet of superheated gas created by the round as kinetic energy turned it to vapor.
The hallway was a mass of jagged metal and exposed conduits. impassable even with strength or cutting blades. The only alternative was to drop down to the lower level and bypass the damage leading to the inner core of the ship.

21 spot, 22 search

Leo decides that for practical purposes they would be better off cutting through the floor here... in a more stable space rather than trying to find an existing conduit after backtracking... "Is there a clear place for me to cut in here or do we really have to backtrack?"

T'risa picked up a few cans putting them into her pack. "Just in case we meet some minorly damaged cyberoids en route. This should help them get out on their own power." she placed a wanring hand on Leo forearm "Leo, please...the time for experimentation is later. Once we've recovered as many as we can." she turned to face the others. "I'm not really sure it would even be possible to cut a hole in the deck plating. We can try it, but I'd prefer to find a route through this before backtracking. Split up and look for ways through."

"Ok T'risa let's move out folks. Search for survivors and any way through before we backtrack. Worst case we drop down to a lower level to bypass the damage." If they are available she stores a few extra cans as well.

Looking around carefully she checks her sensors as well as visual and audio checks of their surroundings. Checking every square inch if it's realistic.

OOC: Search = 21 Very good roll. Spot/perception =2 blind as a bat on that one.

Re: Titan Down: search and rescue

Elsbeth continues to move efficiently, quickly scanning the area as she progresses.  But she seems rather preoccupied, perhaps only going through the motions.  Or perhaps she finds the interior of the dreadnought just a bit too alien for her liking.  Or she presumes that the others know exactly what she knows already.

Whatever the reason, her thoughts are a bit befuddled and confused over the communications link and as a consequence, the CMC Marine appears doesn't necessarily appear to be entirely aware of everything going on around her.  A danger, since she is on point...

Re: Titan Down: search and rescue

The search of the immediate area was a lessen in carnage. partially vaporized machinery, twisted equipment and the bodies of several Cyberoids littered the impact area.

The Heavily armored, and heavily armed form of a War hound was partially imbedded in one bulkhead, it's face and upper torso mangled by shrapnel that would have reduced a human to a scorched smear of carbon on the wall. The Massive killing machine dwarfed the crew androids  who lay broken around it. as did the body of an unknown combat machine, it's hulking form pockmarked by plasma and projectiles. An unknown weapon fused to it's mechanical arm.

<coughing groan> "Damn it was a tough one.....The warhound groaned and twitched as it began to respond." anyone got some asprin.....My face hurts."

Lucky you guys have transponders, I was about to set off a few party favors I had left..........." Anubis, third officer, commander of Security detail at your service....would you do a brother a favor and get me the hell out of this wall."

The massive black and gold machine was stylized to resemble a hound headed human it's heavy armor and frame etched with O'sahdii runes and glyphs that looked like they should be etched on some ancient Idol rather than a high tech Killing machine.

Re: Titan Down: search and rescue

The carnage was horrible even if the remains were cyberoids which didn't leave the sort of gore biological people would. She still felt for them as they were alive and unique people just like poppy, Syxus and a variety of other cyberoid friends she had over her lifetime. "Of course Anubis we will help you out as soon as we can. It's going to take time with you imbedded in a bulkhead like that."

Her eyes flick to Elsbeth seeing she's distracted as well as Theo and others that would have certain details to do while they worked. "Elsbeth could you confirm that hulking mech over there is really dead or permanently disabled we don't want any nasty surprises. After that Elsbeth Balkir Poppy watch our backs while we work to get Anubis out of the bulkhead. Tiny cover Elsbeth and syxis while they work then help cover all of us while we are getting Anubis out."

"Syxus with your technical skills I have a few things for you. First if you can please help Elsbeth make sure that monster isn't a threat. Then can you help us conduct repairs on Anubis as I think he's going to be a very big help with this rescue operation both saving lives and dealing with anything that tries to kill us."

"Leo could you lend a hand with your cutting blades? Very carefully mind you we don't want to do more damage to Anubis if we can help it. I will use my battle armor to try to help pull/lift him free of the bulkhead. I might need assistance from Elsbeth, tiny or Poppy if she's got enhanced strength if one set of powered battle armor isn't sufficient."

She grins at Anubis returning to talking to him while keeping a eye out now that everyone had something specific to do. "Glad to hear we won't be catching friendly fire. Besides it's best to save your party favors for the real trouble makers. If there is one of those things onboard there might be more running around somewhere. Work had folks the priority of getting Prometheous proxy or not out of here alive and uncompromised just went up a few notches. Look alive there might be enemy soldiers already aboard and spoiling for a fight."

OOC: Her prototype armor is ten feet tall so I figure it's got size and strength in a pinch. Though even with Leo helping to cut Anubis free I might need help. Basically Balkir and poppy are covering everyone and Tiny is covering Elsbeth and syxis till we all focus on one task. Then Tiny is backing up Balkir, poppy, and Elsbeth having four on security or a little less if more hands are needed to get Anubis out of the wall.

"Aye, aye, Gunny." the tall, armoured Praetorian dutifully replied to M'kira.  She edged towards Syxis first to escort him to the wreckage.  Elsbeth tried to remain alert for any danger and did not immediately stow her customized laser carbine as they searched the remains of twisted and warped metal.

She let Syxis take the lead.  "I presume," she noted to the smaller, shiny-pated, mechanic, "that I am the muscle.  Just tell me where to apply it..."  The servos on her myomar-augmented exoskeleton flexed slightly, making a slight whirring noise, as if in response or emphasis to that assertion.

It might be tedious and slow going - having to comb the wreckage with a fine-toothed comb, but that didn't seem to bother the CMC Marine.

As the others dealt with drawing the WarHound from the wall. T'risa asked Poppy to help her as she checked the cyberoids in the place, pulling any intact chips from their hosts for rescue. She put them in a pouch on her belt, making sure everyone saw it, in case she fell, so that they could at least rescue the remaining crew.

Re: Titan Down: search and rescue

The newer model Cyberoids were easier to salvage, in short order a dozen cores complete with their emergency power cores were in a satchel there status lights flickering green on all indicators.
cutting Anubis free was harder than it looked, but took little time. soon the heavy warhound was free. His back split open and something resembling a basketball sized spider crawled free. the robotic shell was a fairly new model escape module that was just coming onto the market. intended to let Cyberoids self rescue if it's shell was damaged.

"I am guessing your a rescue team sent into recover Prometheus." Anubis spoke up as he shook one leg then the other testing the small shell as if it didn't quite fit." The level below is mostly undamaged, we took several direct hits from "The Bitch's" main battery on this level so the roof may have buckled down. watch yer heads. Don't touch anything sparking, even that armor wont stop a few kilojoules of electricity.

Follow me I'll show you to the Main core."
the spider began to scrabble over debris moving with a sureness that indicated it was fairly certain of it's path.

T'risa smiled "Thanks. It's imperative we rescue Prometheus before the other forces here are forced to notice he's active. Sometimes I wish political expediency would work for me for a change. We'll pick up any cyberoid cores on the way. Our goal is rescue all crew still alive prior to leaving. Prometheus is a special case. We might not have a huge ship to house him in...well,w e could sue our dreadnought, but it's not as powerful as this ship ever was. We need so many more cyberoid bodies for rescued crew." T'risa followed the spider, she glanced back at the others "Our own ship is hurting, I wonder if there's anything we can scavenge from this one. After we get Prometheus up and running."

Leo smiled, "I think they have official salvage companies that are given first rights to recover their military grade hardware.  If we can't take it out we probably can't take it with us."  Leo rested his hands briefly on the arms of the cyberoids... damaged weapons might still be enough for him to draw a patern from and intigrate into the matrix that enabled his weapons and armor.  It likely wouldn't be quite so effective or he might have to supply ammunition still, but carrying cells, clips, and boxes was easier than running to make up the distance... and there might be better tools to mimic in all of this anyhow.

Re: Titan Down: search and rescue

M'kira took it in a positive light that they were recovering dozen cores here. She could only wonder if any of the crew they rescued would ever get in touch with them. Sometimes crew did that to say thank you or whatever else it was they felt they needed to do. Finding getting Anubis out of the bulkhead a bit of a challenge she makes a soft satisfied sound once he finally comes free.

Watching the spider come out of Anubis she shakes her head slightly. "It's to bad your warhound body isn't functional Anubis. The extra firepower wouldn't hurt in case we run into something nasty. Thank you for guiding us through here."

"If your planning on getting salvage it probably would help if Prometheus gives us permission. That might cut through any red tape or problems that might crop up if we take a few odds and ends. IF Prometheus turns down being installed into that dreadnought you obtained he likely has something prearranged that's already in motion. At least that's my thoughts on that particular matter. It might be ancient even so it's advanced tech which just about everyone will probably want to get their hands on. It's quite a prize T'risa which makes it particularly generous that your willing to part with it so easily."

Re: Titan Down: search and rescue

Elsbeth moved slowly and delibrately as she worked with Syxis in removing Anubis for the bulkhead.  She didn't have much intuition with resepct to what might or might not be important given the very different anatomy involved.  She was willing to apply strength where necessary, but only when directed to do.  It would not due to damage a system that she deemed to be unimportant or otherwise damaged beyond repair.

When the housing and the 'spider' eventually came free, she swiftly lowered it to the ground and quickly backed up to give the mobile core case room to aclimate with its surroundings.

With all of the talk of salvage, the tall Praetorian kept silent and merely looked to others for direction.  "Should we continue to dismantle the rest of the warhound shell?" she prompted the others - including the newly freed Anubis, "Are any weapon or shielding systems intact for us to remove and take with us?  Or to remove and destroy as too dangerous to leave unattended?"  Though her laser carbine was back in her hands and her helmet continued its vigil, scanning around the group, Elsbeth was more than willing to do more manual labor as necessary.
