Star Base Scylla

Larger tna many cities the Terran alliance Executives Primary Deep Space depot is the heart of the mobile fleets operations. Dockyards, storage platforms and ten thousand Marines and Crew men call the facility a permanent home.

With the Dockyard workers, both human and cyberoid added the population of the complex of orbital platforms mobile stations and work platforms boasts a population of sixty thousand

Dozens of Heavy Cruisers, six battleships and two dreadnoughts Hover in defensive patterns in the system dominated by the dimly glowing Brown dwarf and desolate charred rocks of a system that died a billion years before the first Man decided to tie a sharp rock to the end of a stick on earth.

In the past two weeks the station had become even more crowded thousands of T.A.E Tau and valkiir techs along with representatives of the Quetzl and Cesti worlds had arrived to begin the examination of the Ancient Q'sa Super Dreadnought now guarded by the TAE carrier battle group led by the Hornet and The Battle Carrier Kuznetzov's direct action Battle group.

among the massive warships the Crow was barely a speck unnoticed by most. Her small crew now lost in the crowd of crew and techs swarming over the docks making preparations to begin work on the "Recovered Artifact Vessel 225c."

Given VIP quarters on the main recreation facility with access to a private launch bay large enough to house the Crow the crew has been given permission to make full use of the facility.

Hot showers, clean beds, and sand and grit free food seem odd after months on the war scarred planet Char. The squad of Marines outside the doors to the Suites are intimidating at first but when it becomes obvious they are there to keep away the curious and insure the privacy of the group they soon blend into the background.

Re: Star Base Scylla

The rattle of pans and the smell of strong black coffee announced that Balkiir was awake. He puttered around the kitchen to the tune of sizzling bacon, steak, and potatoes. Bread, cheese, and sliced fruit waiting on the table for those with a lighter appetite. A silver tea service steaming nicely set up for the tea drinkers in the group.

"Breakfast in twenty, If ya don't get any it ain't my fault." The Big man boomed as he worked glancing at the bowls full of eggs he was about to put on." Remember yer damn pants we have company." He added an almost traditional warning to the other Valkiir that there were non Valkiir in the house.

He glanced to the room he had taken over with Elspeth and thought about slipping back to wake her up himself. "Yeah, right, in and out, back in time to get the biscuits out..... That ain't gonna happen." He chuckled to himself as he turner back to the kitchen.

Re: Star Base Scylla

Trey woke, as he always did, to the quiet and soft jams of ancient Earth music. Music lost to the ancestors. Where had he been this entire time? Likely bothering Azi, or making himself scarce. The last of the Bredren never letting himself get down, despite all that he's lost; Focusing only on what he has gained.

Where once he was an interloper on the Crow, he's now.. well, less of an interloper. At the very least, he's got a small little enclave out of the way of every one else. A cloned former slave doesn't need much room to sleep, after all. The fellow waking up, stretching himself out to the faint cracks of joints, and grinning at nothing in particular.

"I an' I hearin' tat, Ernie? Chains not on I wrist, chips not in I head, an' tee future ahead o' I tat is filled with breakfast. Tis gun be one good day, Ernie, mark I word on tis." His accent, once atrocious and barely understandable, has come under a lot more control in the few weeks he's been aboard. Helps when he's got to listen to people who don't talk exactly like he does. Although he's still speaking to his imaginary friend, alas. Throwing on his old spacer outfit, the fellow heads down to the head, throwing up a greeting as he arrives.

"Bless up, Balkiir."
He then hunts up a seat to settle into, and await the cooking of the Valkiir. "Good day. Ya, tat it be. Balkiir, I got I some questions tat may be answered? Busy, mon?"

Re: Star Base Scylla

Looking sleepy M'kira comes out in panties and a tank top. It showed off her cute belly button, smooth blue stomach, as well as her toned, long legs.  Her brain processes what Balkir had said catching up to the present. "What? Oh that's right thanks for reminding me Balkir." Her battle armor was carefully put away. Though she never went far without it if she could help it.

Going back into her room she hits the shower then comes out brushing her hair after toweling off and using the hair drier. The smell of breakfast was rather tempting to say the least. Still she brushes her teeth knowing she would have to do so again after eating. Still she wanted to be at her best. Going through her morning evolutions eventually she comes out properly dressed. "Breakfast smells wonderful! Thank you for making it Balkir! As well as anyone else that helped of course!"

Gracefully taking a seat she helps herself to a healthy breakfast. You didn't have to tell a Valkir twice when it comes to partying or food. "Morning Trey." She also greets anyone else that happens to be up and present.

Re: Star Base Scylla

Elsbeth grunted and rolled over, burying her face in the pillow in response to Balkiir's 'summons'.  She felt around with one of her arms and after a long moment realized that she was alone in bed.  Rolling over, she pretty much literally fell out of bed, barely getting her feet under her first and pulling the bedsheet with her.

When she appeared in the doorway between her (shared) suite and the common area, the tall Praetorian was primarily a disheveled mass of black hair atop a sheet hastily wrapped toga-style around her lanky form.  Elsbeth passed a hand over her eyes and brow, trying to rub away the cobwebs for a moment.  Then the hand passed in front of her mouth as she yawned and then stretched.  Rolling her neck and shoulders caused a number of slightly disconcerting popping noises to emanate from various joints and her back.  She did seem slightly more awake, however, immediately following that.  She took in a deep breath as she entered the common room.

The raven-haired CMC Marine gave her assembled companions a slightly dopey smile and to each a mock salute or tilt of the head as she padded over to kitchen counter.  When she reached Balkiir, Elsbeth raised herself up on the balls of her feet to gain a couple of inches before planting a kiss on the large blue man's lips and ruffling his short cropped hair.  She seemed entirely insouciant to the presence of the others with respect to the public display of affection.  When she came up for air, Elsbeth playfully chided him, "How come I didn't get a personal wake-up call, Friend Balkiir?"  She stuck out her lower lip in a show of mock indignation.

But then she was forced to stifle another yawn and the slightly dopey smile returned to her face.  Pulling her fairly shoulder-length black hair into a short ponytail, the last of the Praetorians allowed the barcodes on the back of her neck to peek out.  She glanced in Trey's direction, feeling a vague kinship with the man.  Elsbeth dimly recalled hearing that he was a fellow genetically-engineered being; though obviously his makers intended him for a very different purpose then her makers had intended for her.  She doesn't really think about it too deeply though, tech-stuff was definitely not her forte; still, it would likely be good to talk the other GMO at some point.

She pulled two plates from the counter and started to load them, one for her and one for Balkiir.  She piled on a lot of food for both of them having worked up quite an appetite overnight.  While hot showers were to be savored and coveted, it seemed that sleep was quite often optional.  Once both plates were full, Elsbeth casually sat up on the counter itself and began to alternate feed herself and Balkiir.  It seemed necessary to her as the large Valkiir male was still busy cooking up a storm.

T'risa stormed through the front door, throwing a datapad against the far wall. She looked sheepish and somewhat disgusted at herself when it didn't break. "Well everyone. I've been spending half of the night with the lawyers and I'm still unsure which way it will go. Technically by law of salvage we are entitled to the ships recovered on the planet, if they every rebuild Kronos, we'll also be entitled to quite a large lump sum. We're entitled to a hefty portion of any technology derivatives discovered on the ship that they want to use....but and this is a big but, if it's determined to be of Imperial security, we won't see a dime and in fact, they might just lock us up anyway in the interests of public safety." T'risa concentrated harshly on the datapad crunching it into tiny parts as she took her anger and frustration out on the pad. "On the other hand we are most certainly the honoured guests of those who run this establishment and half of the soldiers around here look ready to worship us as war heroes."

She walked over to a large sofa in the room and plopped onto it, resting her feet over the armrest. "Balkiir, I think I could use a Death by Breakfast...is that properly translated into Tae? We have a lot of work to do before they let us out of here....if they let us out of here and I'm starving. Given we managed to slow down the start of an intergalactic war for long enough for our forces to ramp up production and develop some technologies I think they wouldn't dare stop us."

"Irie, M'kira. Lookin' fine today."

Greets the last of the Bredren - with a compliment thrown in - before gathering food for himself and sitting himself back down. Leaving off the question he was going to ask Balkiir, the bedreaded fellow quickly packs away his own lunch; Giving a smiling, mouth-full nod to Elsbeth when she joins as well. Food was important, in terms of keeping the body alive; At the same time, one learns to get it down the gullet quick, before something else comes up. No time to enjoy the taste. And then a datapad is thrown across the room.

Trey holds up his tray as protection against the violent obstacle, but it wasn't aimed for him. Not that it seemed to matter, as his grinning face pops back up a moment later after T'risa speaks. "Tat got I an' I bent from shape, mon?" He begins, pursing his lips. "If I want, I can slip out tee side hatch an' be makin' sho' tat I an' I be not lockable on tee dock arms, yah? So tat I an' I can get tee tail o' tee Crow outta tee way in one big hurry now, if tings go awry." He pauses again, and shares a glance with all the group.

Leo was all blue... the boxers he now maneuvered in, the interior of their prison being reasonably secure against gene pirates... he really did look a different person in the scantest... well... almost scantest of clothes, and some ankle jewelry... there was also a choker made of a strip of cloth two inches wide red on one side green on the other, he had it folded over so both sides were exposed against the skin of his neck.  He hadn't gotten to know Trey well, but knew him relatively, "Hypnosis might give clues.  Tee or myself can probably help with that, I'm not sure how sound carries through cryo-chambers.  I generally use Dreaming on a more formal basis.  Speaking of which... Tee... You need to relax.  Yeah, it's the proverbial stableboy in me, who doesn't have much politics in life.  They aren't keeping us in here for long.  My last excuse will only hold out a few more days tops, and my mother will likely want to rent me out to some house or another for a week or so."

T'risa looked appalled and couldn't take her eyes off Leo. She coughed as she sipped at a mug of coffee when Leo waltzed in. "uh.... Leo, I think you need to wear more appropriate clothing. You look like a man of negotiable virtue. and by negotiable, I mean at low rates. You should change, it gives everyone the impression you only want one thing. You have your goodies out in full view of everyone. Your clothing barely covers it."

T'risa closed her eyes on the couch, sinking into the cushions "Trey. I've no idea how to find your brothers. My talent really lies in precognition and telepathy. Nothing else.....however, I still have Marshal authority. So write up everything you remember and I'll put in the details at the closest office and we'll see what turns up. It's not likely we'll receive anything for a few months or more."

Re: Star Base Scylla

At the mention of her name, Elsbeth stood up from her seat on the counter and turned for everyone to see how she had discreetly tucked in the long cotton bed sheet to ensure that she was decently attired.  She still had a half-demolished plate of food in one hand and a fork in the other and was chewing rather vigorously.  The hand with the fork passed in front of her tall, fairly statuesque form with a bit of a flourish demonstrating that her bed sheet attire does, in fact, stay up by itself very well... thank you, very much.  Leo got the distinct impression that if her mouth weren't full, that the brunette with the tousled hair might actually have stuck her tongue out at him; instead she merely winked and saddled a little closer to Balkiir.

The things that weren't covered, were the obvious tattoos and scars that criss-crossedher arms, shoulders and neck.  Some were old and some relatively new, some from afar, and others up close and personal, but all of them appeared to have been obtained the old fashioned way.  Earned (often painfully so) in a rather violent manner during her relatively short two decades of life it appeared.  Even the tattoos.  There were signs of plenty of physical abuse with scars upon scars in some places.  Still, Elsbeth seemed to make little of it; as though they were part of what made her ... herself.

Her modelling stint done, she stabbed more food from the plate and fed the large, blue cook.  Apparently, what had started as separate plates between them had devolved into something far more communal.  "Mmmm.." the raven-haired CMC Marine chimed into the communal conversation, as she finished swallowing the food in her mouth, "Marshal, was there any word on Sergeant Rhictor?"  Then her husky, contralto timbre paused and added quite reluctantly, "Or locating his next of kin?"  She pursed her lips, talking that way seemed to dampen her mood slightly, as though it made his death more likely or his reappearance less likely merely in the telling.

With the previous plate cleared of anything remotely edible, Elsbeth began to tuck into the second partially eaten plate, quickly and efficiently splitting the spoils between herself and Balkiir; neither of them showed any signs of slowing down food-wise.

"I'm trained to kill myself without hesitation if someone goes into the deep parts of my mind or has means to extract viable DNA, I'm trained to never get someone pregnant unless it is in the contract, to ensure people get what they need.  It's very much a complicated discipline.  I'm not the best, and I don't want it to be the only part of my life.  I certainly don't want it to be how I end.  I'd much rather continue on myself and end the criminals who are trying to get my DNA or other people's secrets.  As far as my mother is concerned I do just wait around for entertainment contracts, demure and refined, ensuring the secrets and safety of myself and my past contracts."

Then he gave a somewhat weak smile, "Rhic is a tough bastard and if he's dead... then it is how he'd like to go, rather than being fed to his ex's, or retiring to a seniors station.  Humans have a knack for strangeness that few other species can match.

T'risa let out a long low sigh. "No word on Sergeant Rhictor. I was in his mind when he disappeared. I've never been in someones mind when they....when they died before. He....was something more than he claimed to be, but what that was, I can't tell. His mind had...depth i suppose is the best way to put it. I miss him terribly."

She smiled at Leo though not feeling up to playing his games "Leo...you the genetic thieves are out there, and might even be able to break your conditioning. This is one of the few places where you're safe to wander around like that. You are your own man. I'd suggest however that you carry some form of token from my house as a means to bypass awkward questions or recovery attempts by your mother and sisters. I say this in front of everyone here. Leo may choose to carry the mark of my house. It does not imply any contract or ownerships between us. It's solely to avoid issues with Leo being returned to his home."

T'risa yawned on the couch, stretching out. "We're likely to be visited by lawyers soon....again. Maybe a diplomatic envoy from the Empress, maybe some of the House K'mahda sycophants that worked for my mother that can tell the wind is changing and that I will root out all corruption in the House. Who knows....in any case, I'm sure none of them will appreciate being greeted at the door by a man barely dressed, or worse, will overly appreciate you. I'd prefer to avoid any Imperial entanglements if possible. Now, to the most important business of all. Death.....by breakfast." T'risa rose from the couch and headed towards the food. "Trey please record everything you know about your ship and where you come from. Has anyone seen Bright Star or Maran? That girl is always hiding in the smallest of places with her cohort."

Re: Star Base Scylla

Elsbeth settled for Balkiir's explanation, his kiss, and his promissory note for later.  She let the kiss linger, not quite letting him break away so quickly.  Which, of course, allowed her the chance to nick a piece of bacon from his plate.

She merely quirked her head when Leoulin talked about his conditioning.  The raven-haired marine looked slightly puzzled... well, maybe more puzzled than normal.  "I was simply conditioned to die in service, Master Leoulin." Elsbeth noted simply, it sounded and seemed so much less complicated.  But then she had never considered her genes to be worth very much; especially nowhere near as much as Leo's apparently were.

She nodded to T'risa instructions.  "I am willing to escort Master Leoulin in public, if a bodyguard is necessary." Elsbeth offered, "It is one of the things that I can safely say that I am actually good at."  She pursed her lips, "However, I will need to report in to CMC command.  While, I put in a request for transfer to your unit, Marshall ..." she bit her lower lip for a moment, "My next posting is not necessarily under my control."  She gave Balkiir a slightly forlorn look; her tour was up yet, and so a discharge at this point would be anything but honorable.

After a pause and a sigh, "My superiors were not pleased with the complete loss ... well, nearly complete loss ... of my unit, the 359th."  Though the tall brunette left it unspoken, it was readily apparent that she thought the meeting had not gone well; that likely they thought that she was culpable in some way.  Her expression was one of slight weariness and perhaps some consternation.

Well, either that or all of the mass consumption had finally caught up to her.  She let out a slight *urp* and looked sheepishly at the others.  "Er... Excuse me." she noted quietly in her rather husky contralto.

She shook her head when prompted about the whereabouts of either Maran or the 'new guy'.  Elsbeth couldn't recall having seen much of either of them recently.  Of course, that did lead her to where the other surviving member of the 359th might be.  "Oh, and has anyone seen Tiny, lately?" she prompted; Elsbeth had sort of assumed that Tiny and Poppy were getting in trouble together somewhere.  But, of course, that would be an unsubstantiated rumor of the first order.

Re: Star Base Scylla

Leo smiled, "If they want to barge in then they have another thing coming and when we're about... a mark of your family without a contract would upset my mother.  My sisters don't give a damn.  They are all halfs except one anyway.  That one is a lot like me in power, but very unlike me in mind.  She'd simply slice the wall off the building with her mind and haul me back to mother.  B'Katya is the greatest house lapdog one could ask for.  Indeed my father and mother made a pact that she would be female.  I'm not sure what their words had to do with it, but apparently my father has some kind of say because he always delivers contractual spawn on the first try."

He put a friendly wave toward the Marine, "While that wouldn't bother my mother to see me with you and your... I should say humans, my sisters would have a fit.  For any official business I'm just Leo.  Pit fighter and CASAR agent.  They don't even ask if I'm blue.  Human teeks aren't too uncommon, I am frequently mistaken for a female or teenager when I'm in a combat suit."  He thought for a few moments and then suddenly bristled with lines that formed hexes over his skin before filling with metal plating, they faded as he put his physical guard down a little.  "Sorry, I just realized that if we're held up too long here, my mother will want me, and B'Katya will be sent to hunt me down... if I don't give another excuse.  Claiming that I'm on a tour in human sectors is usually enough, but two in a row is exceptionally uncommon.  I might have to actually do work.  If I can get some work while the rest of you are holed up here... then perhaps I can keep it from bogging the group down too much... or we might use it as reasonable cover to get out of here if things go south.  I would have an entourage and people ask less questions of me and my people with my mother's signature about."

Re: Star Base Scylla

Elsbeth gave a side-long glance at Balkiir, as Leo elaborated on his 'situation' and what length (and powers) his family would go through to maintain control over him.  Her brown furrowed and the lanky CMC Marine's expression was a mixture of confusion and incredulity.  It spoke along with her subsurface thoughts of Just what is going on here?  What have you gotten me ... er ... have I gotten myself into?!?  She dimly recalled that Balkiir had once tried to 'warn' her about Tau politics and relationships, but most of that didn't make much sense then.  Pretty much as it confused her now as well.

Ultimately, it sounded as though Leoulin had agreed to her helping escort him, however; so, she nodded slowly his direction.  Not sure what else to say - but feeling as though something should probably be said (it was something that very first charge, V'shak, had told that was socially expected), the raven-haired Praetorian offered to Leo, "For what it is worth, I think that your dress is quite fetching, Master Leoulin."  Of course, as the lithe pit fighter had previously noted her attire consisted primarily of tattoos and a bed sheet right now.

Then Elsbeth looked over towards T'risa to get some confirmation about escorting duty, "That is, if it is all right with you, Ma'am."  She paused for a moment, "Or if you would prefer that I remain near you, I can do that instead."  The Marshal had mentioned some danger, especially when they were out and about - though Elsbeth was not sure if she mean political or physical.  Or both.

She nicked another piece of bacon from the quickly disappearing center pile and chewed slowly as she listened the banter and conversation at the table.  Hardly a social butterfly, Elsbeth continued to munch away.  All the while, edging closer Balkiir; physical proximity seemed to be her primary method of keeping tabs on the continuously busy, large, blue man.

"We could always marry and then I could divorce you?" T'risa suggested from the couch. "You know only a few months ago, I was exiled from the Empire and cast out to CA-SAR. Now assuming legal things go well and the Empress rewards us, I may well be Matriarch of House K'mahda with a fleet few systems could match." she glanced at Leo "Life changes, you are only trapped if you choose to be."

"Ask Leo, if he wishes to maintain his exclusivity and price, he'll probably want you to be around. If he prefers to be free, he can manage on his own. His genetic material will be seen in a less positive light as he gallivants out on his own without supervision." T'risa looked at the cook as if trying to weigh up the benefits and drawbacks of going up to the counter for food versus lying where she was on the couch.

M'kira's lips quirk up into a smile watching Elsbeth greeting Balkir affectionately. Glancing over at Trey she nods recognizing his greeting as they both eat the delicious breakfast with gusto. She looks slightly amused at his reaction to the thrown datapad. With his grin it was clear he handled it well.

Taking a moment she gets up briefly giving T'risa a comforting hug. "I know it's frustrating T'risa. Try not to let it get to you if you can. I know easier said then done still it's worth saying. Personally I prefer the big pay out to them trying to lock us up. We can always slip away on the crow or with Prometheus as I am sure he isn't about to let us get locked up after helping him out like we did."

Hearing Trey's request she nods slightly. "I  am certainly willing to help. Just let me know what you need Trey." M'kira lets her eyes dip over Leoulin with a very amused expression though she still respects how T'risa feels. "Guess you wasted your time trying to warn everyone about modesty. Leoulin is just like us Balkir no need to worry about such things."

She watches Elsbeth Displays her fashionable sheet all tucked in nicely with a look of amusement. Today was shaping up to be a very fine morning indeed. She gently takes T'risa's hand gazing at her lovingly as she speaks softly. "Leoulin is always going to be Leoulin T'risa. We will just have to do our best to help keep him safe. Of course he can look after himself, however there will always be that time when someone needs help including me."

Pausing she considers the talk about Rhic and body guarding Leoulin in case of trouble. "I agree Rhic isn't one to leave us easily. I suspect in due time we will find him and I prefer to keep that hope alive. Let's stay sharp and do our best to find him. We can ask Prometheus to help us look. He can cast a pretty wide net with his resources after all. Personally I will be much happier if and when we find him alive and well." She conceded by using if since they were all aware it wasn't guaranteed that they would find him. Although disappearing made her inclined to believe he was alive. Why else would something like that happen?

"Well I can help with any body guarding If Leo approves. If not I am happy to let him operate under his own devices they certainly seem to have served him well in the past. Leo could always set up a fake contract if we have the funds to spare. With whomever you like Leoulin though for it to truly be fake it would have to be with one of us in the group here. Someone else would talk for sure. It's just a thought which you all can disregard as you see fit."

Seeing that T'risa is eying the counter where the food is. M'kira rises smoothly making her way over there. Putting together a plate for T'risa as well as a drink she soon returns with it. "Here I can tell your hungry, although your so comfortable right now you didn't want to get up to go to the counter did you." Smiling she waits for T'risa to accept the plate before getting comfortable again herself.

"Do as it pleases you.  Much as my pseudo philandery... after all, in my own time I associate with whomever I please... puts me in borderline graces with my own family... it is that we are expected to in no way be capable of caring for ourselves that bothers me.  Friends is one thing.  Family is another... and bodyguards... well, I haven't had to kill myself yet," he said with a smile.  "I'll dress more suitable for strangers when strangers are about.  Until then, I've already ensured there's no egregious breaches of our privacy here.  A little static is hardly a problem for a man who can generate fireballs with his mind.  My sister likely would kill me or try hard, if I married without a proper contract from my mother.  That will after all be the last contract she gets to put in for me.  I serve her purposes well as a mere entertainer.  Same as my brother.  She married my father and as far as I know, she turned down insane offers for his breeding privileges.  I can't confirm it but one rumor says she was offered a moon for a male child from him.  She doesn't let him have kids with anyone else... apparently.  There's a few halfs out there from before his marriage... but most of them are female, business owners, battle witches, or heirs to households.  I don't hear much about sons but my father has never failed to deliver even the desired gender of offspring from contracts.  So... yes... by extension... my prices are also steep."

Leo was still smiling but he was done eating... he was having what looked like a steel milkshake.  "eech, servings of nanotech... really, not part of a traditional breakfast.  Does anyone feel the need to break out of this joint or do we have a day more or less to ourselves you think?"

"You're all free to go explore. I have at least one more day in deep discussion with lawyers and an appointment with the CA-SAR office later this afternoon. I wonder if they're going to strip me of my Marshal status. I admit it was rather handy to have it. I could emancipate you Leo, but it would cause big problems for both of us back in the Empire and the Empress is I am sure fed up of hearing of the scandal and fuss I've created in the short time I've been exiled." T'risa smiled thanks to M'Kira as she remained on the couch, her combat boots carefully not touching the fabric of it to keep it clean. She grinned even more as M'Kira brought her food. "You know all of your talk of parenting....I wonder if it's possible your father is mine too. I was an orphan before being adopted into the K'mahda line. We might even be......related." she quipped at Leo, not being serious, but teasing him for how serious he seemed to be about exchanging his genetic material.

"I think it's safest to just let Leo look after himself. I'm beyond caring what the Regulators think and I suspect he is too. I'll contact you all if I hear anything more on anything happening around here, but I am not expecting to have news here today. Enjoy yourselves have fun! I'll handle as much of the rest of it as I can and breakfast. Elsbeth, leave me some bacon!"

I am such a guy.  Not in the intraspecial-man's-man way either..."  He rubbed his hands together and blew into them and azure flames flicked up from them as he grabbed a mug... Cabinets opened up as he pointed at them and objects turned themselves so he could see, it was casual for him, but it was telekinesis at work, which he rarely did around others in the past... unless it was for combat purposes.

"Oh I love hot coco. Mmm but if we drink that T'risa we might need to disappear for a while." She laughs softly for a moment amused at the moment. She returns T'risa's smile continuing the conversation. "Your welcome. All right I am sure we can all find fun things to do. Maybe we should avoid the red tape serious talk especially since your both likely fed up with Regulations."

Giggling she springs into action retrieving a fair portion of bacon before it's to late. Coming back she splits it briefly with T'risa. "Your welcome again, however this half of the portion is mine!" Savoring the bacon she nibbles on it slowly. "Mmm it's so good. It's to bad it's bad for us." She eyes T'risa waiting to see what she might have to say regarding the cocoa.

Balkiir had settled into a routine, eat, press his hand to Elspeth's thigh, an then listen and eat a bit more. " Glad I'm just a marine....and don't have to worry about the ...confusion."

Lucky fro you Leo this is an Alliance facility. The Public Safety and Order troopies cant operate in TAE space. And there is a 60/40 man to woman ratio on a TAE station... More men then women..So we may have to post a guard on T'risa and M'kira...Elspeth has her Skull and Bolts so no one is going to mess with her.

If anyone messes with Leo the Station Police will be right there. It's against TAE regs to harass visiting guests."

Re: Star Base Scylla

"Mmmm..." Elsbeth purred acknowledging Balkiir's comment about being 'just a Marine'.  She seemed to be agreeing with him, but her tone and expression also seemed to be saying that the young woman was incredibly satisfied with him being 'just' that.  Or that she thought he was more than merely a Marine.  Or perhaps both of them amounted to the same thing for her.

Between bites of food off of one of the plates between them, the CMC marine continued to edge closer to the dark blue Valkiir man and then planted a quick playful kiss on his cheek.  Probably just to clear things up.  And ensure that there was no confusion about things.  Of course, her nose did 'accidentally' brushed up against his ear.

Elsbeth promptly returned to her seat and consuming down more food.  At the mention of one of her tattoos, her left arm flexed making her hand into a fist and the blue and yellow lightning over the laughing, flaming skull rippled for a moment; she seemed to think nothing of it and continued to chew.  the lanky, dark-haried woman knew that Balkiir had a similar set of body ink; she'd seen it first hand - up close and personal.  And she was willing to wager that everyone here had something similar - or should after what they had been through the past couple of months.  Perhaps she should suggest to them that group tattoo was in order...  Or maybe later.

She tilted her head for a moment and stopped chewing briefly as her gaze tracked from M'kira to Leoulin to T'risa and then back around again.  Elsbeth seemed quietly watchful of the Tau at the table, only pausing to ensure that she got one last piece of bacon before the Marshal was given her due.  Then she nodded approvingly to Leo's offer of hot chocolate.  Though after a moment, she asked mildly confused, "Wait, I thought that for the Tau, the chelates in the chocolate were a mild intox..."  Her voice trailed off and the raven-haired Praetorian clammed up and reddened slightly as she looked back and forth between the two blue women on the couch and the coifed and befrocked Tau male at the table.

He took the swat and moved surprisingly little for someone almost half her size, "For human's it is a children's drink. For Tau it is certainly an adult's drink, I certainly wouldn't want to have someone put a drip into T'Risa while we're all linked to her.  No offense to her... it should ever be reserved for family and other people who are not going to think less of us for mild indiscretions.  Cocoa is mostly milk after all.  Now... your chocolate bars is another matter altogether.  I'm not offering them and it is a controlled substance in Tau space.  That could be problematic to share around."

He set down the mug in front of the human marine, smoking like the barrel of a recently fired cannon.  "Less likely to inconvenience me, certainly, but also better chances of the larger problems.  I'm going to be fine, after all, it is less fun without friends and duty isn't calling me yet."  The flames hadn't left his hands as he filled another mug, "For the oddly prudish... would anyone prefer tea?"

M'kira perks up looking wide eyes at the mention of a larger male population. Such a event was rare for T'risa and her people. Leoulin probably wasn't used to it either though his problem was women chasing him not the other way around. "Seriously? Wow talk about a Unique situation. Poppy we might have to guard you too. Your trigger finger is already itchy enough without getting provoked. Did you get fixed up now that we are back on the station? Oddly enough Leoulin it looks like your on body guard duty for us! Think you can handle it?"

M'kira laughs and smiles shaking her head speaking softly. "Oh I don't think anyone here is going to prefer Tea Leoulin." Briefly she walks over to him so that she can get her hot coco. Then laughs at the mention of being linked

"Speaking of having fun what would you all like to do? It's a space station so I imagine there are a variety of recreational activities. We could go out drinking at the local bars. Though if they have swimming pools and sports centers I prefer a bit of swimming, basketball, volley ball, dancing or some such. We probably could go shopping if anyone has any pressing needs for new gear or nice clothing? New guns are always nice too. Since your likely going to be looking after us Leoulin we can buy you a few drinks in way of thanks."

OOC: If I remember correctly we promised her to get fixed up proper maybe even a upgrade. Prometheus et for the rescue as poppy took some damage during some of the fights. I think she was pretty upset since she had spent a small fortune on high quality poppy body type. I forget the specifics.

T'risa laughed at the absurdity of it all. "Chocolate is a mild aphrodisiac for us Tau. I'll refrain from taking any before I go to sleep in any case and while we don't have the need for instant communication I've withdrawn my tendrils into each of your heads....actually no, that's not quite true, the tendrils are there, but shut off. I'll be aware if any of you experience shock or surprise or pain, but I'll be out of them for...other emotions and you won't feel mine....unless I forget." she helped herself to the food M'Kira brought her, resting her head on M'Kira's lap as she ate.

"More men than women on the station? That's....odd. I'll need to go out and witness it. It feels so delightfully sinful to wander around. I think they might be surprised by M'Kira, I suspect she would be entitled to more than one of those Skull and Bolt tattoos, but I've never heard of it being allowed in any regiment I've worked with....though that could be part of the nature of the work I do. Do they run if we look at them? I often wonder how our actions would be seen by the Tae and Tau empire at large, I mean, we effectively ran riot over every law. I vote for getting Poppy and Tiny into good fitting bodies and then seeing where the day takes us. I'd like to get out and relax a bit, before the lawyers destroy my mind."

With respect to finding Trey's brother, she agreed with M'kira.  "We've got half the Imperial Fleet out there..." the tall, sheet-wrapped brunette noted between mouthfuls, "Someone must have seen something ... Or knows someone that likely saw something."

"Of course, Trey!" Elsbeth chimed in, wagging half a stick of bacon at him, "Of course, you'll have to come shopping.  You're one of us..."  The last statement was so matter-of-fact, that the CMC Marine almost sounded hurt that the brethren boy had even asked the question.  After all they had been through; there seemed to be no question in her mind.  He was one of them, at least as much as she was, whoever they were.  Even if Aziza hadn't probed him for parasites (yet).

She looked thoughtful for a moment, "We'll get you a new tattoo..."  There was another pause and then the raven-haired Praetorian ventured with genuine enthusiasm, "Maybe we should all get a new tattoo..."  Her dark hair flipped about as she turned her head and glanced at Balkiir in hopes that the big man would help validate the idea.

In any case, Elsbeth seemed all for the idea of going shopping.  And she was pretty sure that she wasn't just going to be window shopping.  If the Marshal was right, and they had some salvage rights to back a line of credit.  Well, there are always things that a girl - even a genetic engineered one - dreams about getting...

Smiling M'kira's fingers gently trail through T'risa's hair lovingly and with a contented expression while watching her eat for a bit. "Your not likely to forget T'risa not that I mind if you do. It's nice knowing that your with me all the time. That your there for all of us if we need you."

Laughing softly M'kira nod slightly in agreement. "I have seen my fair share of combat. Although I don't care for tattoo's which is why I haven't gotten any. I second the vote on both counts for poppy, tiny, and of course you getting a chance to Relax. I want you to be happy and healthy so let's try to avoid burn out from all work and no play T'risa." Pausing to nibble on some more delicious bacon she looks over at poppy while she's speaking.

M'kira gives her a look of sympathy as she talks about her hair. Poor poppy had been shot up more then her fair share over the recent missions. her chest, her legs and now her hair too. "Honestly it's not a problem poppy. You deserve some royal pampering after all the hits you took for us. I am just glad you can get  high quality body sculpting to get the look you want. You deserve it and with any luck you won't take a hit again for some time to come. Just in case though we might want to stock a few spares for you. Good morning Poppy!"

Getting out a pad M'kira checks her balance then cheers happily. "Poppy's right T'risa we have gotten a very nice deposit if my account is any example. Mmm some spending money and the rest for a rainy day just in case."

She looks at T'risa after Trey tells his story. "Should put out some feelers and do a lot of research. Sooner or later we are likely to get some sort of hit on his brothers. Your being a marshal should help T'risa.  At least we can hope so. Once we do we can move in and deal with whatever happened to them."

She smiles at Elsbeth liking her optimistic view. With any luck they would indeed find Trey's brothers. She could only wonder what it would be like having several of him running around. "I agree with Elsbeth your welcome to shop with us anytime. Hope you can put up with the lingerie shops though." She teases lightheartedly though trey might not mind at all depending on his mindset. "Mmm I will pass on the tattoo. I am fine with getting a patch for our uniforms though."

M'kira giggles when she watches Balkiir snatch some bacon from Elsbeth's hand so nonchalantly. "Oh my! That was bold Balkiir! It's usually dangerous coming between a marine and her food. On the other hand you might be the rare exception. Well I saw this ancient text on something called Call of Cthulu. It had something to do with ancient horrors. Maybe it might have some imagery suitable for your new tattoo. I haven't a clue really so you would need to look it up."

What would it be like with five other 'Treys' running around? Noisy, fast, and filled with that weird pidgin Tau that he used to speak before he became 'used' to this crew. It was hardly even comprehensible between the slurred vowels and the odd little euphemisms. Such as using 'I' instead of 'my' or 'I an' I' instead of 'we'. Never once reverting to a second person or third person indicator, but always to first person.

The clone bredren smiles up at Elsbeth around a mouth chipmunk stuffed with food, before quickly swallowing it down and standing up. The plate itself taken towards the sink, along with any other emptied plates; Trey don't mind no manual labor. Although he does glance over his shoulder at M'kira, those tied back dreds of his falling over the other shoulder, arms bobbing up and down as he scrubs.

"Lingeery?" He asks, blinking a few times and laughing. "Ah! A fake wohd? Gude one, mon, got one ovah I." He continues chuckling at her 'fake funny word' while he finishes scrubbing, humming a little bump soul song..

"Won lov.. won heart.. lets git togetter, an' feel ahlrite.." A pause as he speaks to T'risa "I an' I still wantin' I ta go ovah tee Crow an' make sho' I an' I git loose in a hurrah?"

Leo smirked and took some sips from his own mug, the contents of which smelled almost like plasma exhaust, "I'm all for tagging along and will only take a minute to get dressed for the public."

True to his word, he took a very short time to get dressed in his combat suit.  It was known to be worn by Leo, the deceptively unassuming pit fighter, by anyone who would recognize the fairly small time fighter at all.  There was a knife sheath and a pistol holster, more to make the image a modern warrior as opposed to a skulking assassin figure.

He was lightly armored and completely hidden now, his visor didn't even let the blue of his nose out.  "I'll worry about other details later.  If they are giving us money, then they clearly aren't planning to give us too much trouble."

"Hey..." Elsbeth pouted for a moment, her lower lip quivering when food was snatched from her by Balkiir.  But it only lasted a brief moment.  Instead her lips moved to meet his, hindered only by the last of the bacon which she summarily split with him.  It was the only compromise that she could think of in such short order.

As breakfast appeared to be over, the tall, dark-haired Marine helped buss the table for a moment - carry a few stacks of dishes to the counter and the sink.  But then she bounded off to the room that she and Balkiir had been sharing.  From the doorway, she gestured to the big, blue Valkiir male - a sort of 'come hither' waggle of the finger.

A short time later, Elsbeth appeared wearing a set of ballistic cloth fatigues.  She appeared a touch flushed as if there had been a flurry of activity around getting dressed in such a short time.  The sleeves of her shirt had been rolled up, exposing a number of the designs that decorated her arms; the bottom of the skull and bolts tattoo peeked out rather conspicuously.  Around her waist was her belt with her gauss pistol and magazines strapped to the right side.  On her left, the Tau long knife that Balkiir had given to her was prominently displayed.  Her boots gleamed with new polish and the laces were perfectly tied and balanced.

She proceeded to tie back her straight black hair into a ponytail and then place a beret that had been tucked into her shoulder epaulet on her head.  The lanky Praetorian stood 'at ease' as she waited for the others to gather for their upcoming shopping foray.

The clone bredren nods to Elsbeth when she brings the dishes, and these too are scrubbed; Sure, the Crow's likely got something automated to do it. Or the hypochondriac pilot incinerates the plates when they are used and purchases new ones. But for Trey, there is something cathartic in the simple, repetitive motions. His tune still humming along, until the last dish is cleared and tucked in a sealed container. One attached, of course. He's a spacer by design, preference, and heart- he'd never leave something out where it could float around in a power outage.

That finished, Trey heads to his small closet-sized chambers, briefly spraying some deodorant across his jumpsuit and inside his environment suit. Leaving the latter and heading back out; Likely one of the first ones in the 'departing' area, since.. he basically only has one set of clothes? And no way to change into more. Displaying that wide, happy smile when Elsbeth joins him from her 'excercise'.

"Mmm hmm." Looking amused she smiles at Trey for a moment then turns her attention to Balkiir. Listening to his story her expression is equally amused by it and him getting beckoned to the bedroom. "Those two might be a little while." She was mostly teasing but with Valkir it really was a distinct possibility.

"True enough there. Usually you don't pay people that you plan on disappearing. Unless it's some kind of cover story but I don't want to speculate to much. That way leads to Aziza's speciality of paranoia."

When Elsbeth comes out M'kira smiles. "Looking good Elsbeth. I hope Balkir is ready for some serious shopping, Well that or at least some serious fun on the station."

Going to her room she comes out wearing her Tao plasma pistol as well. Valkir were not shy about their weapons. "Hopefullyy the station won't have a problem with us being armed. It's kind of strange going anywhere you can't where one of these after all this time."

"Front toward enemy" is marked on all directional blast explosives like the claymore mine.

Clutter = "useless ass civilians" in a combat zone. Usually Colonial Marines reserve the term for for the ones who "don't have the balls to grab a gun, or the sense to get the hell out of the way. "

T'risa pondered over Balkiirs T-shirt "You know...we should probably get one custome made for us. 'All I did was land on a godforsaken long forgotten alien dustbowl, started an intergalactic war involving extinct races, sentient dreadnoughts and all I got was this T-shirt.'" T'risa started giggling to herself. "I'll get one made for all of us....but I think my personal shopping for today needs to be in personal protection devices. People keep trying to kill me.....I don't know why. So I'm going shopping for unobtrusive armour and/or shielding. M'Kira break out the assault rifle...just in case. I think I'm going shopping. We can do the lingerie afterwards."

Balkiir grinned and opened the door heading out holding on to Elspeth as he did so."Trey, I don't think you need the silky stuff but we have to get you some clean clothes m'brother. that jumpsuit has more holes in it than a screen door."

he used his free hand to pat him on the shoulder and began to sing the in an almost perfect copy of trey's accent as he snag.. His deep voice echoing in the empty hall....Oneeeee love....

His bright mood seeming to get brighter as he flashed a smile at two confused looking MPs who just scratched their head and let them pass.

Assault rifle it is T'risa." Smiling she disappears into the bedroom coming back with her Tao R6Plasma rifle on her back. She is wearing her light armored jump suit since there could possibly be trouble. Anyone stupid enough to attack a group with armed Marines in it like Balkir and Elsbeth deserved what they got. Not that M'kira couldn't look mean if she wanted too.

Briefly she catches T'risa's hand lacing fingers with her while stealing a tender kiss. Gazing at her affectionately she briefly whispers in her ear. "I have something special planed for us tonight. A candle lit dinner, wine, and if we can manage some perhaps a box of chocolates to celebrate."

Walking beside T'risa she knows her job will be security just in case. Still they needed some time to relax and just be themselves sooner or later. Laughing and smiling over at Balkir. "Now wait a Moment Balkir. Why stop at one new set of cloths? We need to get him seven or eight sets at least. Plus I think even Trey would want a little Armor in case he gets shot at! Trey have you ever worn armor before?"

She gives the MP's a warm smile and a friendly wave as they all walk past. M'kira is used to being outgoing so thought nothing of it.

"Tattoos!" the raven-haired Praetorian chimed in when the talk turned to a group t-shirt.  Obviously, Elsbeth had not yet given up on the idea of adding some body art to all of their collective skins.  She held onto the idea just as tenaciously as she had fought planetside.  Which, of course, didn't mean that she intended to use her pocket singularity as a bargaining tool.  She wasn't that kind of girl.

She nodded to T'risa, her dark hair bobbing slightly.  "A barrier shield would be an excellent choice, Marshal." Elsbeth agreed readily, "I am sure that we can find something suitably sized and stylish enough for your needs."

Elsbeth shook her head slightly as Balkiir broke into a song that she had no idea what it was.  However, she dutifully swayed in time with him, easily falling into step as they two-stepped their way to the door.

The CMC sergeant saluted the MPs as she exited the room, her other arm interlocked tightly with Balkiir's.  And without breaking stride, she moved with the group out of their central quarters and into the station proper.

"Tat might be right, mon." States Trey to Balkiir, with a bright grin. "Tee Bredren usually got two jumpsuits. Won too clean, an' won to wear, but I an' I made do when tee Prospectah broke down."

When Balkiir began to sing a song of universal love, and nearly matching a bredren's odd way of speech, the bedreaded man actually bursts out laughing. But it's a joyous laughter, rather than scornful - and he sings right along, the high baritone to Balkiir's low bassitone. "Tat tee way yah do it, mon!"

And then he's being addressed. Dropping out of the song for a moment to speak M'kira, even as he adjusts the tool belt about his waist. Carrying all the things a Bredren need to get along.

"Mo' tan too? I an' I not even know what to do wit' tat many jumpsuits." Laughs the clone, winking. "Too is bein' gude an' fine. And armah..?" He scratches the back of his head, grinning again. "Tee Bredren got tee Evah suit, mon. Enough tah keep tee rocks out." The EVA suit of Trey's was, to put it lightly, crap. Enough armor on the major sections to keep it from being easily holed, but otherwise one might as well be wearing a stiff shirt. Shrugging lightly, Trey continues along, letting Elsbeth take over and try to two-step to 'One Love'.

Needless to say, it's a grin worthy event.

Re: Star Base Scylla

Leo rounded a corner and snapped back against the wall, his expression couldn't be read and his mind had snapped shut like a trap.  He was however clearly looking for another way to get where they were headed.  "...and remember how I said my sister would only be sent to collect me if I failed to respond to mother's initial, peaceable requests?  Yeah.  Either I missed those, or she's here on security loan.  Either way... Damn.  Nope, she saw... well, her psychometery caught me.  Damn, damn, damn... act natural and know that I'm going to go along peacefully if only to save the hassle of collateral damages and venting atmosphere.  It isn't worth running from..."

Then he was hit by a figure slightly larger than himself, she was wearing what amounted to a pleated short skirt and sports bra with gloves and boots that were clearly military grade but not military issue.  They looked like they belonged on powered armor not a person.  She had perched upon his back like a cat.  "Little brother!  When did you arrive?  Why the hell are you in a place like this anyhow?"  It was his wave to indicate the rest of the party that caused her to look anything other than proud.  As her eyes swept over the group it was... unpleasant, and only a little like she could somehow see you naked and wasn't impressed.  "Clearly they aren't criminals.  What has been going on?"  His lack of verbal reply but hand gestures inferred that he was elaborating mentally to save time.  She stepped off of him and got an upset look as some unseen force hauled him off the ground completely.  "You WHAT!?!"

"Yeah, something like that.  Clearly some of the names and dates were changed to protect the sensitive nature of my clients, guards, and even transportation paths."

She eyed him for a few moments and laughed, "Bullshit.  Mom's planning a thing.  You should talk to her so I don't actually investigate your story."

"Damnit!" he said aloud, "Fine.  I'll head back and do my duty to the family and perform at whatever this venue is, but you tell mom that it is more secure than it really is so I don't have to feel so cluttered by guards and crap."

"I know how you feel but... you're a boy.  A special boy at that.  Mom is going to need more than a little convincing."

Leo's emotion blossomed into a wave of mental energy rolling from him... he was supremely proud of whatever he was about to say, "...then give me your stampedes for a minute," he asked holding out his hands to her.

She looked notably at T'Risa and then at Leo, "Mhmmm..." she took his hands in her gauntlets.

"Nothing untward has happened.  I like all of these people, none of them are quite safe enough to break any of my duty oaths over.  I know what you do to those people."  Their handholding however causes the gauntlets to breakdown and his sister sprouts a blade of translucent violet energy that sparked and crackled as it tore into the rib section, left side, of his suit and hit his armor below that.

She was shocked, "Wha-"

Leo frowned, "My story wasn't so far from truth as you might like to believe," a different set of gauntlets these with gleaming azure energy claws and knuckle spikes formed in hex shaped plates over his own hands.  "I'm more capable than you thought, less than I'm telling you... and I don't want a mess.  So I'll be good if you will."

She got an appraising look at him and the gauntlets on him, "Impressive little brother.  I want some of those.  You set me up with a set, and I will leave all this be."

"I think I can probably have something close set up for you... just be nice to them.  CASAR may be asking me for help from time to time and I'll need your help in the future... for what I may possibly escape from."  He planted a soft kiss on the cheeks of each person present, even the males he didn't know so well.  His emotions were tightly shut off as he did this however.

His sister was saved for last.  She nodded and withdrew a tablet, "Read this as we go, you have one minute for goodbyes."

Re: Star Base Scylla

Elsbeth had been happily walking along arm in arm with Balkiir, when the strange woman (well, strange to the Praetorian - she was obviously known to Leo) had approached the group.  When the exchange between the slender O'meadan man and his sister began, Elsbeth looked on with more than a touch of confusion.  While, all of the words made perfect sense by themselves it seemed, the raven-haired marine quickly became completely lost as to exactly what was going on.

Only when the final statement came up, and Leoulin started his farewells did it dawn upon her that the man's fears about being 'recalled' had coee true.  She shook her head and tensed slightly, planning to interpose herself between Leo and his sister.  Only the steady grip of Balkiir's huge blue hand around her waist stopped her from doing so.  She knew that she could twist away if necessary, it was in her genes, of course.  But, Elsbeth was sure that there was some other subtext involved that she must be missing.

Her mouth opened once, but no words came out for a moment, when she and Balkiir received their kisses.  Then Elsbeth tried again, "Th-thank you, Mister Leoulin."  She pursed her lips and in her husky contralto timbre, the tall brunette whispered leaning in towards the smaller man's ear, "Rejoin us soon.  Call, if you ne-..."  She let the sentence trail off, figuring the meaning was obvious - perhaps given her lack of subtlety, too obvious.  She didn't even give Leo's sister a second glance.  However, she did give a rather troubled look to both the Marshal and then up to Balkiir...

" Nice to see Leo isn't the only odd bird in the family." Balkiir chuckled and offered his hand to the Sister." You might want to keep an eye on him, He's picked up some bad habits..

Balkiir glanced over to Elspeth, nodding to let her know things were as close to normal as they would ever get. ~Sisters get tagged with roping in the stray brothers when The Mom of the house wants them to come and show off for the neighbors....probably a formal dance, or poetry reading, followed by a lovely meal where the main course is subtle innuendo, oh so polite posturing, and probing for a place to stick a knife if the chance comes up.~

~If I read the signs right they haven't figured out Leo is doing what he's been doing..or there would be a nurse and a couple of Blackshirts with the girl. And, they'd be asking some pretty direct questions about who T'risa is and why she's with Leo.~

Just the other day I think he was thinking on his own...."  Even as he joked with the woman he stepped forward and put his hand squarely on Leo's shoulder and fixed the girl with a steady look." I'm Balkiir K'sovul, Colonial Assistance Special Action and Response, This Is Elspeth, Marshal Lady T'risa K'mahda, And M'kira T'shal, Do us a favor and look after Leo, he'll be missed. By the way, that's Trey, and Poppy...also friends of Leo's we'll be waiting for him to call and, let us know how the party is going....impatiently."

Something about the tone of Balkiir's voice and his stance hinted that he was going through the seemingly innocent introductions with a purpose. And the smile on is face wasn't reflected in his eyes.

~It wouldn't take her long to figure out who we are, but knowing our names she can probably figure out we're not just a bunch of dock rats who Leo is slumming with....That'll make it a lot less likely they'll decide to keep him at home..especially once they run T'risa through their codex and figure out she's not your average O'maeda.... even being on the outs with her family, She's still K'mahda..and that's a pretty rich family to start antagonizing.`

Trey blinks aside when Popppy comes up to put a hand on his wrist, and tell him that he's free. That bright smile flashed once more at her, even as he crooks her arm in his own elbow and shakes his head. "If won of I not free, no one of I an' I be free, mon." Still, rather than put a damper on the moment, he lightens up once again.

"I be tinkin' tat tis be won in-ter-estin' family, ten, if I an' I all in! Won party is gud, trey parties is better. Let I go fetch Tiny, ten." And, laughing still, follows up Poppy's song with his own, chorusing together with her. It's an easy tune to get into, after all. But the song dies down when somebody comes for Leo, the bredren blinking for the man.

The space monkey unhooking his elbow from Poppy's for a moment to offer up a hand. And, of course, a one armed hug. Man hug, that is! "I an' I did not know I very well, Leo, but tat's always been gud soul. And tat means mo' tan it seems. Git done wit I party soon, yah? Tee fastah, tee bettah." He'll then step back to give other people their farewells. And give Leo's sister a wink and a bright grin. Because nothing's worth doing unless it's all worth doing.

Re: Star Base Scylla

Elsbeth remained silent and more than a bit sullen.  Even Balkiir's explanation and reassurances, it didn't seem to sit well with her, dampening her mood.  Perhaps she didn't fully understand all of the nuances, but no matter what - a member of her adopted family was being whisked away.  Seemingly against his will.  It was all that she could do to merely stand there and not try to interpose herself.

The tall brunette merely inclined her head as she was introduced, her expression stony.  "Ma'am." Elsbeth quipped dutifully to Leo's sister by way of introduction.  Her own stance mirrored Balkiir's.  Despite his even tone, she felt the subtle shift in his weight and the tensing of her arms and shoulders next to her.  Elsbeth's own feet and hips moved slightly to give her more options for both freedom of movement and immediate action, if it became necessary.  It also conveniently exposed her sheathed long knife and sidearm holster more readily.

She determined to let her actions speak for her - if it became necessary.  Elsbeth had never been very good with words.  But there were other things that she was pretty good at; and her synergy with Balkiir was one of the things that was getting better all the time...

T'risa watched the ongoing scene between Leo and his sister with a certain heavt heartednes as he was going to leave the team for a while. The flash of a brilliant smile across her face was enough for Leo to pick up on the fact she was considering pushing him in trouble, but her features softened. "I wish you the best, Leo. Please take care of yourself and return to us healthy and happy." T'risa kissed him on the cheek before returning to M'Kira's side.

She glanced at Leo's sister, using her imperial voice. The voice which was used to command and ordering many soldiers. "And he will return to us in precisely the condition in which he is leaving us. If he does not...there will be consequences." T'risa knew that the first thing his sister would do would be to check her out on her family's database. Potentially she owned a lost technology dreadnought and arguably started an intergalactic war. Though in the past, her exploits were only limited to planetary invasions... T'risa reflected on how it seemed odd that the older she got, the bigger the wars she started.

As Balkiir surveys the tobacco shop a group of Short, dark blue skinned women in Armored flight suits emerges from the wine store next to it. Their suits are distinctive, Blood red, and sorting Imperial and House Insignia.

The uniform is the mark of the consorts Guard. The women assigned to protect the Imperial Consort and assigned to accompany him where ever he travels. It also acts as the Empresses elite Enforcer squadron, deployed under the consorts direct command to deal with acts of rebellion and treason against the empire.

Te leader of the group staggers into Elspeth and looks up at the Much larger marine with an angry look on her face." Watch where I'm going mud monkey."

Her voice is slightly slurred obviously, and there was a smudge that looks suspiciously like chocolate on her uniform. The five women are well into their shore leave, and celebrating enthusiastically. Her words are echoed by her companions, all of them look like they are in the mood to fight.

OOC: the rank on the pilots is Pilot Officer, the lowest ranking officer ranking of the Imperial military. roughly equivalent to a Warrant officer in modern terms. From the lack of campaign bands on their sleeves, and the low rank these appear to be junior pilots.

Still, he's about the same size as the pilot, so there is that. Maybe it'll defuse the situation if the pilot's got nothing to prove against the larger marine? At least, that's Trey's thought.

A gesture to the chocolate smudge. "Still got a way ta go, mon, if I want ta take tee best time I can, reet?" Surely they'd want to continue whatever decadent chocolate eating bender they were on rather than pick a fight? Right? Right?

Re: Star Base Scylla

It Took Elsbeth a moment to register that fact that 'mud monkey' was derogatory and that it was actually pointed towards her.  She was about to correct the woman and her misguided statment, but then thought better of it.  Actually more driven by context, you know, given that the drunken pilot ran into her.  As she is processing the situation, T'risa's offer bled into her consciousness; her instincts had already pushed to her shift her position slightly to ensure that she was between any hostiles and the Marshal.  Her hand rested easily on the hilt of the long knife at her hip.

She was about to open her mouth when Trey spoke.  His genial nature apparently winning over the pilots.  The turn of events was confusing for her, to say that least.  First, it looked like she might have to defend herself.  Then the Marshal.  And now...

The tall Praetorian glanced at Balkiir and then T'risa.  It was more a look than any real words, even though she softly muttered, "Should I...interpose myself? she left the latter two words unsaid, but with the Marshal's neural communications network still open and her surface thoughts unguarded, Elsbeth figured that she didn't really need to vocalize.  Her head tilted as Poppy began to ingratiate herself with their new 'friends'.

The lanky brunette shrugged slightly and then sighed.  Whatever Poppy and Trey had done, it appeared to have worked.  Elsbeth didn't know how it worked, but it did.  So, she left it at that.  Her posture relaxed slightly; though she remained between the five pilots and most of the rest of her group.  While she knew that T'risa and M'kira could take care of themselves, old habits died hard.

</i>" They are looking for a fight, or a chance to blow off some frustration." Balkiir spoke directly to Elspeth's mind." They will take anything you do as an excuse right now."

when the situation changed and Trey seemed to be the center of attention He chuckled and gave a glance to Elspeth. speaking so Everyone in the group could here him he sent his observations mentally through their joined link." ell tat seems to have worked."

"they have other things on their mind now. O'maeda women don't get to "see" men very often. Right now we could shove them out an airlock and they might not notice."

They won't fight in front of Trey right nw, bad form, and a chance to look good by making friends with the women around him is ..good politics.... O'maeda...gotta love em.

Of curse they are kind of cute, I mean all shiny, and showing off their flight bars, kind of like my kid sister showing off she had gotten her first black eye."
He seemed amused at the pilots and their general overabundance of pride in their uniforms, and flight wings.

Clone Bredren

Re: Star Base Scylla

Expecting a hit? Sure, why not. It wasn't unusual for one of the Bredren. They existed in conditions dismal for life and usually too dangerous or hairy for an AI to handle. After all, who cared if another space monkey went missing, especially when there was literally more where that came from? Like any other of the oppressed throughout history, the Bredren simply adapted to their harsh lifestyle.

Hey, they were still breathing, right? At least, Trey was, so far as he knew of the others. And where there is life, there is hope.

So let the Omaeda girl take her swing and walk off with her pride; Wouldn't bother Trey a bit to help his friends out of a jam. Unfortunately, the precise opposite occurs. The bedreaded clone blinking down at her finger as she slides it along his forearm - and Poppy comes up, hips waggling like something out of a trid not meant for polite company. The bemused Trey glances at Elsbeth, confusion written across his features - right up to the moment K'ira is shoved into his arms. The confusion only increases as he glances aside to Poppy coming up the other side; As if he has no idea what to do about women slinking about him rather than acting like they usually do. The swarth skinned clone blinks a few more times, before flashing that bright smile at the Omaeda. Hey, when in doubt, smile about it.

Besides, Poppy's on his other arm now, so everything's fine. Whatever the heck is going on, she said two words that perked Trey right up. Party and dancing. THAT he could understand.

"Oh, no problem, mon. If its tee dance I an' I wantin', teen tee dance I an' I gettin'!" A bright laugh. "Nice and smooth, slap weh! K'ira's tee name now?" He asks, having rediscovered his equilibrium in this new social experience.

Where there was life, there was hope.
Where there was hope, there was celebration.
One love, Jah.

T'risa relaxed, pleased that the potential for a nasty situation had turned positive. Not only had the entire situation had been defused, but it looked as though Trey was going to have a very good rest and recuperation cycle, unlike the mind numbing constant lawyer things she had to deal with. She could have donated the leviathan to the Empire, and part of her really wanted to, but Kronos needed a home, evne if it was temporary and the warship would bring her right back into Tau society, possibly even as clan Matriarch if the charges could ever be proven against her mother.
"Have fun, Trey. We won't wait up."

Re: Star Base Scylla

"Take care Leo I know we will see you again." The confidence in M'kira's voice made it a fact not a speculation. She knew Leolin and he would be back if he had anything to say about it. He would also get help if he needed it from his friends. She wasn't surprised T'risa spoke up regarding Leolin. She just hoped the sister wouldn't try to grand stand and make a mess of things. Well either way in the end it would all work out. Balkir wasn't playing around either.

M'kira giggles and for a moment gives Tiny a gentle hug. "You look just fine. Don't worry about anything tiny you have the rest of us to look out for you till you get used to your new body." She links Arms with T'risa and smiles. "I have a feeling we will need to look out for her. She's got a cute model and I doubt tiny is used to humanoid social interactions just yet."

Hearing T'risa's offer M'kira smiles. "Your in for a real treat tiny. Right now we are doing very well for coin and T'risa's got good taste." Laughing and smiling M'kira salute's poppy. "You go Poppy! Once more into the breach we will go shopping! Then dancing of course!" She whispers briefly to T'risa with a amused expression. "And to think we haven't even started drinking yet. This should be good."

Seeing the chocolate stain and alcohol influenced pilot M'kira raises a eyebrow. She considered if it would be a waste of breath to warn them they were picking a fight with the wrong people. If they wanted a fight talk wasn't going to make a difference. "I have your Back Elsbeth." She figured T'risa was on it too then shakes her head with a smile.

With Mercurial quickness their thoughts had changed from fighting to something far more enjoyable. She was fine with Trey handling things especially since it seems he was getting a very favorable reaction. "Oh well looks like you have things well in hand. Happy birth day Trey." Poppy seemed to be helping things along to boot.

M'kira gives Elsbeth a slight shake of her head. "Not yet. Trey's a big boy let's see what happens." And as it were things worked out just fine. So she decides to go ahead with introduction. "Hi there. I am M'kira, This is T'risa, Elsbeth, poppy, Tiny, Balkir, and you have already met Trey. Like Trey says let's go dancing... well we do have a little shopping to do too." She introduced the women of the group first because that's what Omaden's expected.

T'risa entered a few discreet queries into one of the station databases, looking for someone to make some exotic things for her. They'd already lost some very important people and had almost lost some more. She decided she was going to try to improve the lot of the crew and to do that she needed a specialist. After keying the entries she headed directly for the shop owned by the race that knew how to combine attractive appearances and effective outfits.

Valkiir fashion. The sexiest, most effective protection she could afford to buy. She entered the shop taking a quick look around. "May I speak to the proprietor please? I'd like to make a...relatively large and complex order. I'm looking to buy some bodysuits. It'd need to look good, accentuate the right parts, fit us all and be extremely protective, as well as have attachment points and or pockets for the gear we need. Three variants, one of each for each member in the team please, customised to their roles in field, You'll also need to keep this information on file. I plan on adding to the team. Needs to have standard CA-SAR comms built in, and I'll want at least one version that can quickly be made environmentally sealed in an emergency. I'd prefer to co-ordinate colours too, but leave some space for customisation. Do you think you can help us?"

" Would you like fries with that." the attendant blinked after a moment and jotted down notes looking off camera for just a second." Miss K'mahda... It's an honor to get to speak to you. I'l get Arla, she'll skin my as if i dont let her handle this personally."

In a few moments an older woman with obvious battle scars, and synthetic eye glanced down at the screen. the fact she was naked and appeared half asleep indicated she was most likely resting when the call came in.

"One second sweety." she glanced off screen." I have your public medical records right here. Unless you have you put on weight, or had some work done...I think I can fit you right up.>"

What your talking about is going to be a good case of sticker shock. but I'll be gentle."
the woman studied T'risa's image for a moment." Hmmm I have an order with your name on it already it seems. A friend of a friend, sent it in a few weeks ago."

bring yer little wombats around and let me have a look at them. I am not going to tell you I can do something over the phone. I'll have my brat whip us up a pot of ta, and maybe we can work out the details while she MAKES HERSELF USEFUL...damn kids these days... I'l get dressed, and meet you at the shop..unless of course You have a thing for valkiir.."
the last part was a rough joke and probably not an actual offer.

T'risa grinned as she answered the comms. "As it happens I do have a thing for Valkiir....but M'Kira would probably kill you...or join in. One of the two. No significant changes in weight or height. I'll have the staff turn up for measurements. I know this will be expensive, but I want the people I care about to be as well protected as I can afford. We've lost some people very precious to me and came close to losing a few others." she smiled wanly, the loss showing clearly in her eyes. "While I know this will be expensive....if you don't rip me off too badly, I'll probably be sending a good many more people your way."

T'risa sent a message out to the team to come to the location to be measured, only then did she register what the woman has said. "Someone sent in an order for me? I'm not actually expecting anything." she raised an eyebrow as she waited for an explanation.

Re: Star Base Scylla

This M'kira sounds like my wives." Arla chuckled and sent the order information to T'risa, a selection of reinforced clothing, and Several very pricey sets of formal clothing, as well as casual outfits.

a glance at the Order caught her eye, the name on the list was K'risa K'mahda. the prefix on the credit account also caught her eye, it was her families House account.

" I'll benice, I can make a rather nice living ripping of people who haven't done a decent days work, or seen the business end of a weapon in their entire lives." Arla smiled and took a dressing gown handed to her from off screen."I can see from your face you have been on the sharp messy side of a fight. That Marshall's badge you carry tells me your not in the business for quick kicks, then back home to the family business....I'll see if i cant get you whatyou need at a fair price... But I have to pay for the materials and feed these useless brats of mine once in a while."

Re: Star Base Scylla

T'risa frowned at the name. She'd not made any friends inside her own family when she'd accused her mother of illegal genetics trading and in the time following it, she'd been ostracised for what she'd done. No-one had anything to do with her. The list of clothing and who paid for it was eye raising. Was her mother trying to buy her off and welcome her back into the fold? She had to know that T'risa had levelled formal allegations of treason finding her mother supplying weapons and supplies to the Cesti and transporting them from their homeworld. Nothing about this made any sense and her sisters seal more or less told her she wanted nothing to do with this. It hinted at mothers influence. "Hmmmm. Leave the order placed for me alone. I don't accept gifts like this without knowing much more about why they were sent. Regarding the specifications of the gear I'm asking for? I don't mind you making a profit, even a healthy profit, but so long as you're fair with me. I'll be more than fair with you.....plus I'm psychic and know when you're trying to rip me off." T'risa laughed "And you're right. Seen many things last trip out, things that are going to change everything and will leave nowhere untouched. I'm just trying to keep me and mine as safe as I can. Speaking of which.....you know anyone that's really good with shield generators? They'd have to really be exceptional. I might have some....items that I can trade for services and materials that they'll want to check out?"

T'risa nodded, looking out the window. "I heard the same. Particularly bad in the screening elements, but some of the bigger ships too. Dreadnoughts everywhere. Biggest naval conflict since... Well, there will be some space in the docks for a while." she looked at the woman candidly, knowing officially she couldn't say anything, but that word had already spread. "or so I heard."

"Thank you. If you could officially reject the order at my request. I'd greatly appreciate it. I was going to ask if it had explosives included as part of the material, but I thought it might be impolite." T'risa nodded "My people will be turning up here and there over the course of the next few days. I can wait a while for the complete order, but I'd like to have something for myself and possibly M'Kira done as a matter of priority. The others should be a little safer than the rest of us. When you come down here, I'll ask you to come with me and I can show some of the trinkets we have. I have one proviso. No selling to terrorists. I don't mind letting a scientist see it, but what's coming up...it better not get into the hands of people using it against us and I'll need a mindscan for veracity on the client direct to make sure they're not going to do that. Understand this...will give whoever we give it to a big jump up the ladder....and if that's ok, I'll see you when you get down here to talk over options and colours....."

T'risa wondered what the others were doing to the station now that they had a lot of money to be playing with, hoping each of them would get the message reasonably soon to turn up for sizing and fitting. She smiled at what must be the owners daughter as she brought the cup to her, enjoying the taste and savouring what was once again civilised society for a while.

Arla stood up and and walked over to her table taking out an old fashioned measuring tape and note pad.  She sat back down and sipped her tea for a bit, giving the girl who delivered it a nod." Useful some days...kids that is."

She sat making  asketch and looking T'risa over then making a correction." If i ever came within arms reach of a Betsie ( BTSi, terrorist group), or one of them other nutters..I'd never been allowed on this rock., but I can guess that the material your handling is some of that stuff they hauled din off the big wreck....everyone and there uncle is talking about it.    "And if you have that material, that means yer the crazy bitch who shot down the lead ship of that fleet."
Arla didn't look up to see the reaction to the coment and her words seemed to be intended as a sideways compliment."now you want I'm  not the woman you want to mess with today, or yes I am in charge,I'm damn sexy,  and no you cant have any?" T'risa raised an eyebrow, her information was relatively good. "Well, a few things for us to talk about. First, I understand you trust these people, and I feel I know you well enough to you, but given the unfolding events....I need to verify then trust, rather than just trust. I'll need to know I'm passing on...salvage...antiques really, to someone who won't sell it to nefarious sources. I can neither confirm nor deny the sources that you cite. In any case, I suspect you'll find it was a whole crew working as a team and that said team only managed to pull it off through luck and teamwork with the other vessels too. And I'm a witch... with a w."

T'risa was curious and tried to peek over to see the sketch. "There are times when both are valid. I'd go with the second option by preference. I prefer to work with cooperation than intimidation. Some of the others in the team may pick differently."

I heard this curious myth, an old one...That people can achieve great things on their own. Might be true, but I've always noticed people who really do manage to pull of the unexpected..work in teams."

Arla held up a sketch for review, and suggestions.

I an add details, and equipment as you like, but I think this would be a very nice compromise between cooperation, and intimidation."

As T'risa chatted and shopped at the fashion store, the rest of the groups was left to enjoy the services of the district. The smells of fresh food, candies, perfumes, and tobaccos mingled in a rich scent each sop adding it's own scents, and sounds to the exotic atmosphere of area.

The Battle matron is a next generation design intended to capture both Imperial and TAE contracts for advance multi-role strike fighters and Fleet/colonial Defense fighters. It was first displayed in 2276 at the Charlotte Arm Expo engaging in mock dogfights and strike scenarios against several aggressor drones playing the part of Najuhlim, and Q'sa swarm fighters.

The design is a radical departure fro the usual Imperial fighter doctrine. it is heavily armed, capable of both strike and defensive roles, and features significant AI assist and a systems operator defensive gunner to remove much of the burden from pilot who now focuses on maneuvering, and offensive tactics.

the Design is rugged, designed to be operated from unimproved sights, colonial airports, and Imperial marine forward operating bases without he typical Imperial support structure for light combat craft. The Design lead proved the ruggedness by removing a modular system canisters and telekineticly hurling it across the field into a mud puddle. the unit was cleaned, calibrated reinstalled and functional within twenty minutes.

the battle Matron dispense with plasma shielding, and structural armor, instead using a proprietary gravimetric distortion barrier system for it's shielding, and limited armor over vital components several thousand kilos were stripped off the airframe and replaced with sensors, and power systems.

with a lower mass frame the flight systems could make use of advanced gravimetric thrust and vector control systems that allow a 360x360 engagement system. this feature allows the vehicle to maneuver and accelerate while it's nose is pointed away from it's direction of flight.

The system also allows the fighter to execute maneuvers that would tear most fighters apart making hard lateral and vertical accelerations, decelerating accelerating at sharp angles, as well as execute a full reverse flight allowing the vehicle to maintain it's speed when it's nose is faced 180 degrees away from it's flight path.

the hull of the fighter is streamlined and efforts were made to avoid structures or shapes that would act as airbrake's if the vehicle was flying off axis. the secondary result of these streamlining efforts is a low radar cross section compared to most exo-endo fighters.

the radical improvement of House K'mahda engineering and systems design including several highly improved system that were previously impractical for a vehicle as small as a fighter caught the entire defense industry by surprise.  the innovations and improvements over the typical simple, mass produced designs of the house fighter design department indicates that these improvements may be reverse engineered, or captured xeno-tech.

despite numerous calls for the release of recovered non-human technology. House K'mahda has declared it has proprietary rights to in house development. filing injunctions in Imperial courts to protect it's rights, and publicly stating, it will not release proprietary research to competitors without significant compensation for loss of legitimate competitive advantages.

the combat Experience gained by house militia using the new fighter, and Imperial guard forces flown by house K'mahda pilots has show the fighter to be unusually effective. In several engagements the pilots of the house "Battle Maiden" squadron scored 20 to one kill rates against experienced and well equipped hostile forces including Najuhlim High command craft featuring suspected revere engineered Mohljaniir technology.

Pausing when she hears about new equipment and body suits M'kira purrs. Gently pressing close to T'risa she peers over her shoulder with a affectionate expression. "OH my! More new toys for us to enjoy? I like the idea of looking good in extremely protective body suit. I can model it for you later if you like as long as you model yours for me!" She was being lighthearted and playful wanting to keep the mood positive. Though she could tell that kind of gear meant that T'risa was worrying about them.

She slips her arms around T'risa from behind giving her a gentle affectionate hug. Laughing she smiles at the attendant. "Fries do sound good. We should check out the pastries place soon that or pick something up from a restaurant. It will give us Valkir in the party energy for the long shopping spree."

M'kira smiles at the Valkir on the comm knowing they took the business very serious if she was being woken up out of a sound sleep. Then looks slightly surprised that someone sent in a request a few weeks ahead of time. Who had anticipated T'risa's needs that far in advance? Was T'risa that worried for that long? Either way she was happy that T'risa's needs would be met. Hearing T'risa's response M'kira's cheeks blush a lovely hue and she shakes her head slightly laughing. "Oh my! Your wickedly playful today T'risa." She steals a quick gentle kiss as payment for her wickedness. "Mmm I see the same thought crossed your  mind about the preorder. Someone's looking out for us but I wonder who."

Glancing at Aria M'kira gives her a warm smile speaking softly. "Thank you. I am M'kira it's a honor to meet you." Honestly she felt the woman likely had deduced that on her own. However it was polite and appropriate to introduce herself. "That's Balkier back there, Poppy, Tiny, Trey, and of Course Elsbeth. Balkir is taken by Elsbeth so run it by  her if one of your wives or yourself take a liking to him." She was being the friendly protective sister type. Not overbearing just giving her a heads up that Balkir was spoken for and who to talk to if someone wanted to try to share him.

She raises a eyebrow sensing things were getting murky when T'risa rejected such a impressive gift. Her family life was complicated and she let T'risa share it at her own pace. "Shield generators?" M'kira lets out a soft sound of appreciation. "We really are getting the good stuff. I am impressed T'risa. If we are going that far we could probably outfit Tiny or my battle armor with something impressive. What do you say Tiny you looking forward to a new Toy? Then again I like your civilian look too. The big you can't go everywhere. So we probably should look out for you in this form too."

Hearing T'risa finalizing plans M'kira speaks softly. "I am ready for fitting any time your are T'risa." She nods slightly with a smile as T'risa dances around classified information. "A very hard fought battle and a long journey to get us to that point too."

Looking over the sketch M'kira nods as well. "The sketch it looks nice though it sounds like you want a different color scheme T'risa." Scenting the air her stomach grumbles slightly. Her and Balkirs metabolisms were higher then other races. which meant more pit stops for meals though she could hold out the delightful scents of food is getting her attention. "Mmm that smells good."

the styles were all bright, close fitting and left as much skin exposed as they covered. She held up a tangle of belts and straps hmm glancing at them and then grinning.

TAE and Valkiir did not seem to respond to her but the few TAU and O'maeda who saw her nearly tripped getting out of her way. Her face hidden behind an opaque veil her head snapped with he precision of a weapons turret as she found what he as looking for and began to follow an invisible trail of data toward her destination.

" Stay close B'Hahn." Despite the harshness of her manner and the obvious lethal edge she displayed her words were soft and gentle tot he young man at her side.

"Always, D'shai," the veiled man at her side replied deferently, but with evident affection.  He was a little frightened of the busy market place, so many things going on at once, it seemed very chaotic to his orderly mind.  And yet he also felt a jolt of excitement at the same time as he automatically started to analyze the patterns in what he was seeing.  The place was so full of life, of interesting and different things than he'd ever experienced.  It seemed dangerous, random, and absolutely spectacular all at once.  He stayed very close to N'ssa, as he was trained to do, but by her side he felt safe, and so took in all he saw, discretely of course.

"Really, D'shai?  THANK YOU, so very much!  I promise, fifteen standard minutes at most."  He accepted the card with a bow of gratitude, then looked around trying to decide which shop to explore first.  His mind raced with the thought of casually wandering this place... He stopped short, realizing the level of trust N'sa was giving him.  He needed to show his gratitude by not abusing that trust.  Scanning the area, he looked for a place nearby, maybe where he could find something for his new S'nai, hopefully.  He smiled up at her through the ever present veil and then walked towards a promising looking gift shop.

S'viim's eyes widened as he took in the quaint shop.  There was so much here, so many fine gifts.  He scanned the candies and chocolates...tempting he thought, but perhaps too overwhelming for a first greeting.  He hummed to himself as he glanced over the various bath salts, lotions, incences, and the like, considering each one carefully, before dismissing them.  He finally settled on a hand carved box, made from lacquered l'ashi wood from homeworld.  Within was exactly the proper gift, he decided.  And so with his prize in hand, he walked over to the counter, which was a little high for him, and placed his treasure down.  "How much for this?"  he said smiling proudly.

Trey, for his own part, seems to want naught and need nothing but company. Grinning and chatting up the young pilot with that bright smile; He truly seems to have no other motivation other than good conversation. Asking about her ship, and the specs there-in - it's something he knows. And Poppy's hip gets a wicked grin and a return, before he tries to show them both a little Jamaican step; One foot sway with hands. Lots of hip work. Hey, if she wants to bump hips, might as well do it the right way!

"Nice an' easy foh gettin' tee head in tee rhythm, mon." He laughs. "If we goin' too tee bashy to-nite." That bright grin flashing when she disappears into a dressing room, the clone bredren goes back to his normal self; As bright a grin for the most severe as for the prettiest. M'kira looks amused wondering what poppy might be up to. She had shot up stations before and even if she didn't she was a real handful. That could be a lot of fun though one might wake up with a pretty bad hangover the next day.

Laughing and smiling M'kira nods looking at T'risa. "Well I do usually run around in a flight suit when I am not in my fighter. That or my battle armor which is obviously the all Metal look. I am fine with it as I like the soft organic look too. You could always change the color scheme of this one if you don't like it. However if you want to go with a lot more metal there are a few color schemes I like. <blue> "Blue steel with silver or gold trim would probably look good. I also like black and gold trim. Another option might be black with red trim for metal. Most of those colors will also work with a soft organic look. All black works too if you don't want to be colorful. If you really want to stun your opponents go with transparent armor and wear as little as possible under it." Her voice was teasing at the last little bit. "Well not really on that last little bit."

OOC: I would respond to Trey and Poppy. However I get the feeling they are definitly shopping somewhere else at the moment.

Re: Star Base Scylla

Elsbeth sidled up next to Balkiir, staring rather blankly at the display of tobacco paraphernalia.  She'd seen others use some of it - but never engaged in the practice herself.  It didn't seem very productive to place a large burning object near your face unnecessarily.  And though it had reputed addictive and narcotic effects, Elsbeth's own metabolism was not readily geared to accept such stimulants very well.  It through off her balance and caused massive headaches.

Arla's fashions and its wares made more sense to her.  Unfortunately, her fashion sense was not really that well developed.  To her eyes almost all of the designed seemed acceptable.  T'risa's explanation about form as opposed to function one brought a mild amount of confusion to her.  Generally, in the past, she had been given the clothes that she would required to wear - and there was very little choice involved.  And as a marine it had been much the same.

Still, it seemed that some of the others needed some approval.  Not Trey mind you, he still appeared to have a junior pilot draped on him.  Nor M'kira and T'risa as the former was deep in conversation with the Marshal.  But Poppy and Tiny, she gave the 'thumbs-up' to their retail therapy selections - the clothing looked appropriately sized (even if there wasn't that much there in some cases).

And so, she was left to her own devices with the big blue Valkiir.  "Friend Balkiir," the raven-haired Praetorian suggested, since her tattoo idea had obviously fallen by the wayside, "Perhaps we should get a set of matched plasma pistols for all of us..."  She continued to sort through the various possibilities; all in all, Elsbeth's aesthetic predilections seemed to tend towards bigger (and rather gaudy) selections both in the firearms themselves as well as their holsters, belts and other accessories.  She didn't always seem to be intentionally choosing the more garish objects, yet invariably her eyes and hands gravitated towards them.

Then, something in one of the other display cases caught her eye. "Oh," Elsbeth cooed slightly, "I could use another concussion rod as well."  It seemed that one could never quite have enough of them, in her opinion.  She also looked briefly at plasma swords, but shied away from the force field enclosed super-heated gas generated.  Apparently, simple pocket singularities were more her style.

They entered the shop where N'ssa indicated they could find the Lady T'risa K'mahda.  It appeared to be a clothing shop, clean and organized, but the young Omaeda did not allow himself to dwell too long on these details.  He scanned the place until his H.U.D. indicated he'd found the one he sought.  Taking his first look at the famous Lady through his green tinted veil, a thrill raced through him, and he gasped in spite of himself, quickly biting his lip and admonishing himself for it.  The stories had not done her justice; she was far more beautiful than he'd imagined.
S'viim took a nervous gulp, then looked up at his D'shai for reassurance, as always finding it there in her confident demeanor.  It was time to make his Matron and his House proud.  He approached T'risa slowly, then waited respectfully for her to acknowledge them as was proper.  He smoothed his pale green k'iivtah (full length robe)and bowed gracefully.

"Hmm well it would be easier to incorporate purple into the design of the outfit then white checks. How about we go with purple for the shoulders, Stay with the black coat although change the trim to purple. Keep the brown for the pants to keep the Csar look. Go with purple lighting on the belt instead of blue. The Undershirt I think can stay with black though it can change to purple if you want. The outer with the zipper can keep the Csar red if you want that color though I think it's better with black in it as is then purple. Purple on the boots instead of blue as well. If you want to incorporate the white checks that's up to you. You could do it to the belt so that it's present."

A bit later when she mentions the male Omaden might be a assassin she raises one delicate eyebrow in instinctive response. Then remembers that Leolin proved that there were indeed very capable assassins of both genders that turned the usual model completely on it's ear. "Very well I will keep a close eye on him. He probably will just think I am considering him for a bit of fun. Hopefully he's not anywhere near as skilled as someone we know or it will be time to beat a hasty retreat and shoot from a distance."

Her hand rests discreetly near her weapon though she's careful to make it look more like she's trying to look good with her hand on her hip then anything else. Watching him she wonders what this might be about. "If he's really related to the shop T'risa and he wants our patronage he's probably trying to make a good impression. Though don't usually the women of O'maeda do the greeting in any sort of buisness deal?"

OOC: House B'shan is know o most Valkiir, and Tau..they were one of the houses manipulated into taking the full brunt of the valkiir counterattacks during the O'maeda led empires ill fated attempt to forcefully annex the Valkiir several hundred years ago./

It's one of the oldest families, and the Valkiir still have stories about the skil and daring of the B'shan warriors...They are now a laughing stock politically int he empire, and have little influence or power of their own. They mostly serve as a client to the Imperial house, and a close ally to the Imperial Valkiir families...including two of the personal Handmaidens ( bodyguard/assassins) of the Empress herself.

Also, D'Shai do not typically accompany a young man outside the house unless it is going to be an extended journey, they are usually accompanied by the Matrons guards for short informal trips.

T'risa had little time for the games that were played between the houses....and she was having fun shopping for clothes. She closed her eyes resigning herself to more discussions about the dreadnought. House B'shah....he might be here to try to persuade her to sell it to the Empress. T'risa was tempted to tell the man to leave and never darken her doors again, but she'd made enough enemies and to not even listen to what one might have to say.

"I have already returned other gifts from Houses today, Mr. S'vlim. I am not in the habit of taking anything that will sway my independence or call into question my impartiality as a marshal, so you may return the gift to whomever sent it. As to the message, you may say it in public if it is not a personal one. Otherwise use telepathy and we'll discuss the matter over tea."

T'risa glanced at the shop owner, raising an eyebrow to ask her if they had a place for S'vlim. "I apologise for the necessity, but Mr. S'vlim's business with me should be over soon and then we can get back to the more pleasant business of picking a uniform and clothes which work given my profession and the likelihood of being shot."

S'viim was taken aback by the Marshal's answer, though he admired her directness and determination to remain impartial.  Admittedly, the stories of her exploits discussed and debated throughout his home-world had left an impression on the young Omaeda man.  If he'd feared that she might not live up to her reputation, however, his fears were alleviated in that moment.  She was everything he'd heard she was: forthright, intelligent, courageous, and fiercely independent.
Unfortunately, her refusal of his Matron's gift also meant that S'viim would have to return to his House rejected and ashamed, and most likely he would never see the Lady of House K'mahda again.  He did not intend for that to happen and hoped that his Matron's words might help the Marshall understand their intentions were merely to help her.

"I would be honoured to have tea with you, Lady T'risa S'nai," he replied.  Concentrating, he sent her a simple telepathic message:

~Yes, the mind-link is certainly acceptable to ensure the privacy of Matron N'amii B'shah's message to you.~

Re: Star Base Scylla

" Oh, this is for dancing Big Guy, I have my work clothes all picked out." Poppy grinned and tried to get the web belt bucked in place.
Several pouches a holster on both hips, and a few rings to hang items off of completing the outfit. Well that and a pair of leggings and a short skirt she had slipped on.

We get to have things that aren't all work ya know..sometimes you just pick stuff you like, or that looks good. After you make sure you have everything you need, and your friends have what they need. I like this sort of stuff cause it feels good to look nice, and people are more happy to have some fun when I am all dressed up and doing the whole silly, sexy, airhead thing...we the airhead is sort of built in I dont have to play that...Thanks."

She finished getting things straightened out. kissed Trey on the cheek and stepped out to show off her new threads...all the time she talked she didn't seem to be flirting or trying to get Trey or the others worked up. She did grin a little every once in a while." Its sort of how I make me..feel like...me, well who I like to be..The whole silly airhead thing, the clothes, the body, they are all just things I like... you should find stuff you like too.... once we relax a little, and I can talk to some friends at the party tonight, we'll get yer brethren out of their jam. and we'll all have the biggest party in the history of man to celebrate."

In reply to Elsbeth (msg # 100):

" Lets see here.Lucky for you I have sisters who liked to use me for a pack mule when they went shopping." Balkiir looked over the selections he had an eye out for more than the practical, looking Elspeth up and down handing her a leather long coat, holsters, and a knife that most people would consider a sword. Setting a duplicate of the knife in his one pile.
Going over the weapons terminal he tabbed his Ident and accessed the restricted database." Being a marine has it's perks." Lets see plasma pistols, great idea...Matching holsters, unit insignia...we can work on that... Lets get you something that shows off the legs, and the cure of the hip..and those shoulders. got to let them know they are dealing with a certified bad ass.

He handed her clothing he liked the look, a mix of practical and more stylish. Them grinned and winked, as he slid some more silky things into the pile for when she wasn't in public.~They are pretty comfortable, or so I am told. You really are one hell of a looker you might as well enjoy it.~

He began mentally relaying ideas to her various mental images of her in various outfits, letting her pick what she liked and didn't like out of what was on display.

Re: Star Base Scylla

She looks over the D'shai with interest when she coughs to make her presence known. Things were getting more interesting with her present. The male was far from home and apparently important enough to warrant someone with her skill. Listening to T'risa's thoughts she nods ever so slightly and stands down. If there wasn't going to be violence then there wasn't anything to worry about.

She met the bodyguards eyes for a moment clearly interested in her. After all if the woman lived up to her peoples reputation she had real skill. MIght be nice to share a few drinks and hear what she had to say if the man was going to be around for any length of time so would she. New friends were always welcome and if they were not fighting then they could get along just fine. Meeting his eyes when his veil goes transparent she notes he's following protocol looking down. Then is slightly surprised at the offer of gifts. <I> "My your very popular today T'risa. Is it just your lovely personality and pretty face or might it have to do with our recent acquisition of some very rare high tech?"

"It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. S'vilim." It seemed they would have tea together.  Gracefully taking a seat she sips a cup of tea as well. Smiling warmly at T'risa's compliment to the tea and valkir fashion. "I do look forward to seeing you wearing some of that valkir fashion T'risa."

She was certainly interested in whatever the message might be as well. If it had a impact on T'risa's life it influenced her own just as much. She wonders how Poppy, Balkir and the others were doing. Everyone for once was having a bit of fun shopping instead of being shot at. Kind of a nice change of pace. The question is how long would it last? Everyone deserved a vacation and they had yet to go dancing!

"I'm dubious. You've no idea how many have approached with agreements that are supposedly in our favour yet are not. Mostly from prestigious houses. This approach from B'shai is interesting though. They might be relatively small, but they are important and they speak often enough with the word of the Empress. I intend to hear him out, but if it's just a trade offer I'm going to reject it." T'risa replied to M'Kira "Remember that soem men can intercept our thoughts. I dread to think how that would work when I'm working as a battle witch. The combination of many orders flowing through me along with the precog must be mind boggling."

Bows respectfully then smiles to M'kira, as he takes a seat across from T'risa.  Truth be told he was very much looking forward to the tea to ease his nerves.

"Thank you, any companion of Lady T'risa is indeed welcome company.  I don't believe I have heard your name as yet?"  He gestures his armoured female comrade.  "This is my D'shai, N'ssa of House B'shah."

He returned his attention to T'risa, and brought up the message his Matron had sent on his veil's display so that he could send it telepathically word for word as he had promised.  As the glowing words appeared he projected them carefully, the patterns of his Matron's speech flowing with ease of familiarity as he shared them with T'risa:

~To Marshall T'risa K'mahda from the Lady N'amii B'shah, greetings.  I suspect it will not surprise an intelligent woman, like yourself, that your recent exploits have peaked the interest of many at court.  I do not doubt that several of more opportunistic Houses are already attempting to curry your favour by offering you various agreements, gifts, assurances of loyalty and all the other typical attempts to sway you to consider them as allies.  Ah the eternal game; the nobles never seem to tire of playing.
I must admit, I too am most impressed with what I've learned concerning you, Marshal.  Of course your strategic success and acquisition of some very valuable tech certainly speaks well of your intellect and your courage, but that is NOT what has caught my attention.  What has truly surprised and interested Me is your forthrightness, your seeming determination to do what is right, to uphold the honour and integrity of the Empire, even though it meant exposing members of YOUR OWN HOUSE as criminals!  Such honesty is a rare commodity indeed among the Tau Omaeda, one that is desperately needed if we are to survive.  For far too long have we watched the corrupt, the amoral, and the selfish slowly erode the values and traditions that made our Empire great, and that is something we simply cannot abide!
You know well, I am sure, the misfortunes of my once esteemed House, and you know that for many reasons, as much as I would like to, I cannot publicly endorse your actions.  I can however, privately assure you that you have the full support of House B'shah.  I have decided that I can quietly provide some assistance, to ease your burden and allow you to focus on that which matters most, I am therefor offering this gift, with no expectation of favour or even acknowledgement.
My gift, if you will accept it, is this male: S'viim B'shah.  He is well educated, for a male, and a most excellent administrative assistant, something I suspect you could truly use just now.  He is obedient, loyal, and very willing to enter your service, indeed he readily volunteered.  He can apprise you of his talents, if you choose to accept him.  I hope you find him an acceptable gift, and a reminder that, although you have made several enemies, you also have friends of which you are likely not aware.  Continue your important work, Marshall T'risa K'mahda, and I shall do all I can to help you for the honour of our Empress!

                                          Respectfully, Lady N'amii of B'shah ~

S'viim sipped his tea and then sighed happily as he sat back in his chair, a bit exhausted by the effort.

Re: Star Base Scylla

Elsbeth raised an eyebrow at the big blue Valkiir's comment about her looks.  "Thank you, Friend Balkiir." she noted off-hand with a self-deprecating smile, "Though, we should likely take you to see the occulist next."  The tall Praetorian woman glanced in the direction of the T'risa and M'kira.  And then in the opposite direction, towards the cybernetic bodies of Poppy and Tiny.  Elsbeth shrugged slightly, before continuing, "I think that you need to get your eyes checked..."

She fanned herself for a moment, realizing that she was actually a touch flushed.  "Is... Is it hot in here?" Elsbeth asked when the cascade of mental images began in her mind through the connection she shared with Balkiir.  It was quite surprising to her, just exactly how attractive the large blue man found her.  But then she found the man irrepressible and irresistible.  Well, and he was so damned cute - in a huge blue polar bear-sized man kind of way.

The raven-haired Marine scratched her head for a moment then pulled on the end of her ponytail, when a particular mental image seemed to linger over their connection.  A look of mild surprise... or was it consternation ... flashed across her features.  "Really?" she prompted him quietly, "I might as well not be wearing anyth..."  She pursed her lips and she clammed up immediately.  Maybe she just needed some air; it was definitely getting hot in here.

She took a deep breath, blew and errant lock of hair from her face, and then held up the couple of hangers that Balkiir had offered her.  She swore that what was hanging on them looked to her to be some items that were more appropriately sized for the Marshal's frame - which was over a full foot smaller than hers - and they still wouldn't cover much there either.  One dopey smile and shrug later and Elsbeth mere quipped, "Uh... Okay."  And the lingerie went into the growing pile.  Next to the plasma pistols with custom embossed holsters.  And the stun batons.

Re: Star Base Scylla

"My love, M'Kira T'shal." with the extensive databases they had, T'risa was sure that the links between herself and M'Kira would have shown up. Bodyguard, escort, friend and now something much deeper. "Pleased to meet you D'shai N'ssa"

T'risa sat at the table saying nothing, her eyes showing she was deep in thought.

"You know that many see me as a threat." she said that as a statement, accepting it as truth and the fact that S'vlim knew about it. "By your matrons wish, you are placing yourself in harms way. I make enemies S'vlim. Not often by choice, but I'm not going to stand back and ignore what others have. Those who have joined our team have accepted those enemies as their own. Your D'shai might be able to protect you from most personal threats, but you are placing yourself in real danger." she watched the mans eyes with great interest. "I won't deny that a lot of my time is currently been taken up with administrative functions and I could really use someone like you, but I could always hire someone. So the question I have for you is. Is this something which you truly want for yourself? To make yourself a target for anyone wishing to hurt me or my cause? There is war brewing S'vlim, one that will change us all, and make martyrs of many. The questions I have for you are twofold. Do you realise that this has the potential to go very very wrong? By even placing you in my service some harm might come to House B'shah. Secondly, why do you wish to join our band? Tell me your personal reasons for doing so. I appreciate candour."

She raised the cup sipping at the tea.

Re: Star Base Scylla

M'kira gives a slight mental nod intrigued by the recent developments. Having the empress interested was exciting as well as potentially dangerous. The Empress naturally had enemies that likely were just as interested. "True T'risa I will keep that in mind. We could have a few drinks with them. Might be interesting to see what might be said in a more relaxed and less formal setting."

Sipping her drink she gives him a quick smile speaking softly after T'risa introduces her. Her heart warms at the words she heard. Discreetly and however briefly she seeks out T'risa's hand under the table briefly lacing fingers if permitted. After all she said no violence would come of this meeting so she didn't have to keep both hands free constantly. Though not for long since it is sort of becoming a business meeting. "Thank you T'risa. I should have mentioned my name earlier." She was briefly distracted glancing over at Elsbeth where she was a bit further away noting the woman was a touch flushed. She wasn't sure if any of that might bleed into the mental network or not. However there was only one man who could be responsible for that. With a twinkle in her eyes she looks at Balkir with affectionate amusement. Honestly in a world recently torn by battle or in her opinion war it was touching to see romance blossom. They were good people and deserved whatever happiness they found together.

Turning her attention back to the present she was intrigued by the mental activity. However will not press to be involved unless T'risa openly allows her to be part of the mental message. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well D'shai N'ssa. Hopefully we can drink together sometime in the future when your duties permit." She doubted the woman would consent to drink now. Though hopefully that would change soon if S'vlim was joining their little family. Taking another drink of her Tea she speaks softly. "As T'risa says it's no small matter. If you do join us it's not just a job for us we are a family. We look out for each other as best we can. It's a honor not to be taken lightly." At least that's how she felt about it as a Valkir. If he joined and proved himself more then someone just doing his job he would become family too.

Re: Star Base Scylla

S'viim's attention was diverted momentarily as T'risa introduced M'kira.  S'viim had indeed heard of her during his research of the Marshal.  He had guessed that the Valkiir lady might indeed be Lady T'risa's stalwart companion, but he was a cautious man, and he had learned, the hard way, not to presume.
"Lady M'kira, the honour is mine, I assure you.  And yes, I understand what a privilege it is to join the Marshal and yourself and your companions.  This is not a job for me at all you see, it was choice I was allowed to make."

S'viim turned back to look at T'risa, listening carefully to her every word.  His eyes widened visibly and his cheeks turned red, but his attention was completely on her.  Once she'd posed her questions and paused he smiled, he bowed his head for a moment to compose himself before he carefully replied:

"It is extraordinary to me, Lady T'risa S'nai, to hear you ask for my opinions, my feelings.  If I may be so bold as to say so, you do not address males in the same way that other women on home-world do.  It is a trait that I find very interesting indeed, even a little unsettling, but not unwelcome.  If anything, it reaffirms that I made the correct decision.
To answer your questions: I am fully aware, as is my Matron, the danger of entering your service.  Even if it is done discretely, our enemies will eventually take notice and resent our actions.  But as you have said yourself, a war is coming, and at some point a side must be chosen, one must stand up for what they believe in, or their beliefs amount to less than nothing.  By taking this step my Matron has made her intentions clear.  She realizes, as I do, that you and your band will help to restore the dignity of our people.  That is something of which I am honoured to be part.  Your enemies are our enemies now, we accept there will be consequences...I accept there will be consequences, and I'm not afraid.  I want to serve you, I will give my life to serve you, Marshal T'risa K'mahda, What Omaeda, man or woman, could ask for a greater purpose?"

He closes his eyes, clearly overcome by his emotions.  He takes a deep breath and adds: "You have every right to refuse.  But if you hired someone else to be your secretary, would they be in any less danger?  At least you know I come to you with full knowledge of the perils, and willingly accept them.  Let me help you, please?"

"but it would seem that everyone involved knows the risks and is aware of them." T'risa reached for her computer transferring data and permissions to S'viim. "Welcome to our team S'viim. Taking another sip from her drink she wonders if their shopping spree might get extended slightly as they have at least one more member of the group to think about. Then again he might already have very nice equipment. He certainly had the B'shah family name to back him up on that. Those that served the Empress would not be running around with second tier gear.

Disembarking from the transport, he adjusted his bags and various hanging pouches on the jumpsuit and walked into the station.

Talking to Kli'rik'tik'chic'tik had been interesting to say the least. New technologies? And some of the Universal Hive were being asked to help with the studies. The Queen must be pleased. His antennae twitched as he wondered what it would be like to dissect and decipher such, but sadly that was outside of his own field.

He walked the station aimlessly at first, the large compound eyes taking in the sights and the reactions of some of those who moved to avoid him. The antennae twitched back and forth in mild amusement.

Free wandering wasn't going to do much except occupy time though. He would need to check and see what he could do. He had been informed of an open contract for emergency response which might do nicely. Yes, that would be something good to check into.

He fumbled out his datapad and scanned for the way to contact this CASAR...

S'viim finished his tea quietly, eyes downcast as he awaited his fate.  He had to admit, it was very good tea, and he would have appreciated a second cup, but moderation was a virtue after all.  So he carefully placed the cup in front of him, trying to cover how nervous he felt.  He never ceased to devote his attention to Lady T'risa, however, listening attentively as she pondered his previous reply aloud.   When she at last welcomed him to her team, his heart almost leaped from his chest; the relief, excitement and elation he felt was almost overwhelming.  He took a deep breath, quickly composing himself and remembered to bow as was proper.
"Thank you Lady T'risa S'nai.  It is a great honour to be admitted to your service, I am deeply grateful for your trust and vow to be worthy of it."
He turned and bowed to M'kira, acknowledging her welcome as well.  "Thank you, M'kira of T'shal, for your warm welcome, you are very kind.  I look forward to learning from you."
He focused now on the Marshal's instructions, activating his personal micro-computer (hidden discretely in his wrist band) to make certain it was receiving the required data.  Scrutinizing the display that scrawled across his inner veil, he beamed, and nodded gratefully to her.
"I have received the necessary data and can access your information now, thank you.  I shall study them earnestly to ascertain how I may best be of service to you.  I will have many questions and will not hesitate to ask and I can promise you that assumption is not in my vocabulary.  I will work very hard to be "up to speed" as soon as possible."
He considered some of the other information she had imparted to him carefully.
"Appointment with your lawyer...yes, I see it on your schedule, I shall be there, Lady; it will help me to understand your business and its requirements.  Documentation for cargo ships: permits, licenses, certificates..." he sighed happily, glad to be speaking the language he understood best, beauracracy.  "These will likely not prove difficult to obtain, once I am acquainted with the pertinent information for your vessels, though I daresay I shall be busy, which suits me very well indeed."
He was surprised at the offer to attend a party, and to assist them with their shopping.  He had no doubt it would prove a very interesting day indeed and he grinned with unabashed delight to N'ssa.  He hoped she was as happy as he.
"You would like the opinions of an Omaeda male?  Extraordinary!  I shall be glad to offer whatever perspective I have, and hope it will be useful.  What kind of party is it to be?  I did bring my formal robes, but if it is a casual affair I can find something suitable.."

He had a job again, and it seemed that his qualifications were either top of the line and made him a candidate that should be snatched up immediately or they were extremely hard up on medical personnel.

The antennae flickered in amusement. Well, since he was given assignment already there was no need to stand around airing one's thorax. As any of his race would do, he would present himself for immediate duty.

So he set the computer to find this T'risa K'mahda so he could present himself in all due haste and then set off.

Sipping her drink M'kira smiles with a look of amusement. "Mmm worrying about the books? That would certainly be a change of pace for a Valkir. I don't think I could leave  the sky or space. I love piloting my fighter too much!" She thought about how much the new toys likely would cost glancing at S'viim. She was confident though T'risa wouldn't bankrupt herself even without a skilled person to help make sure. Her lips quirk upwards with a look of amusement. It was going to be a interesting day indeed.

"And to think this is just our first stop isn't it T'risa."

He walked the corridors, frequently checking the system to be sure he was on the right path. It seemed to be a nice enough station, all things considered. People politely got out of his way as he walked, some with an amazing turn of speed. Very considerate for someone new to station.

In his head he cataloged the items he had on him, to be sure everything was in order. Mandibles clicked softly as he put things in order in his mind as he traveled, and the antennae swung back and forth in an absent minded way as he walked. Likely he forgot something, somewhere. But he couldn't place anything. That was the problem with forgetting something, one never knew what it was.

T'risa K'mahda:
"S'viim, just call me T'risa please. Formality is best left for court or ceremonies. Here we're informal. Just T'risa. We'd always welcome a male insight to our uniforms, after all we all want to look our best. You should bear in mind that everyone has different roles within our group. You'll need to have a uniform yourself." T'risa looked to the shopkeeper. "Please add one count for S'viim and possibly his guardian, and please with close that are protective and stylish for our night out."

She looked towards S'viim with mock pity in her eyes "You're going to hate what this little expedition is going to do to my bank balance."

"As you wish it, so shall it be, T'risa,"  S'viim nodded to her, respectfully; somehow still managing to convey his deference in her single name.  Informality did not come easy to one of House B'shah.  Traditions were sacred to them, and S'viim had been strictly trained to value them highly.  Yet even so, space was changing around the Tau Omaeda, and it seemed to S'viim that some of their oldest beliefs were anachronistic, and perhaps should be reconsidered.  Such things were not for a male to decide however.  If the Lady T'risa wished him to be less formal with her, he would try, because she wished it.

He wondered what sort of uniform they would be wearing, then he grinned as he glanced up at D'mai N'ssa and tried to imagine her in anything other than her black body armour.  That might prove very interesting indeed.  Of course he was a little embarassed at the thought of offering criticisms on T'risa or M'kira's outfit choices.  He simply could not imagine them looking anything but beautiful, regardless of what they chose.  He did his best to overcome this however.  He'd been given a task and he would do his best, as always.

When the Marshal mentioned the excessive amount of bookkeeping that might be required, he was a bit taken aback.  It might indeed be very laborious to account for all of their purchases, but certainly he was capable of it, and the money was Her's to spend no matter the amount.  Then suddenly, he realized...she was joking with him.  An Omaeda Lady was teasing him!  Shaking his head, he reminded himself he was definitely not on Ir'leth anymore.  He smiled and replied:

"Already working on it, T'risa.  NOTE: Check station listing for possible chapters of Shopaholics Anonymous..." he winked at his new Boss through his veil."

S'viim blinked when the message icon appeared on his veil display.  He made certain to catch T'risa's attention then quietly sent Her a telepathic message.  ~I apologize for the interruption T'risa, however you are receiving a message that I believe may merit Your attention.~.

Re: Star Base Scylla

Elsbeth let Balkiir fuss appropriately over her holsters and belt, relishing his proximity and making sure that he left enough space for her two collapsible concussion rods and the long knife.  Then she sidled up close to him to help ensure that his weapons belt was adjusted 'just so'.  He deserved at least as much attention as she did.

After that she reexamined the lingerie that he had chosen.  The tall Praetorian gave slightly startled whistle when she perused the price tag.  "W-wow," she stammered slightly, "This... this costs more per gram than pure palladium.  This had best be made of unobtainium..."  Her tone betrayed a touch of skepticism, the material might have been ballistic cloth, but was more likely synthsilk or neo-satin.  And the coverage was ... minimal.  The best she could probably hope for was a built in barrier shield - presumably, powered by a pocket singularity - because the set of sheer threads that composed this item of 'clothing' (she used the term loosely) didn't have space for anything else.

And Elsbeth still had her doubts that even the Marshal could fit the item in question - it just seemed so... skimpy.  Let alone someone a foot taller than T'risa.  Still, she wasn't going to contradict orders.  And the Marshal had said they were going shopping.  And specifically to pick out clothing.  And the colors matched the CASAR color scheme.  So, who was she to argue?  It may not be CMC Marine standard issue, but that was not her assignment any longer either, it seemed.

"So," she ventured, pointing to the lingerie picked out for her, "if this is for me..."  The tall, lanky brunette turned to regard the tall, muscular Valkiir male, "what about for you?"  Obviously, what was good for the goose, was good for the gander, right?

Looking amused by the back and forth M'kira simply sips her drink intent on finishing it in du time. Clearly things were going well so she turns her thoughts to the future. She certainly enjoyed the thought of picking up their new toys. "I am going to enjoy getting fitted for the shield technology. You don't get to play with the nice stuff very often. Thank you T'risa."

She gives their new book keeper a quick smile. She wondered how he would react to Aziza who was a rather colorful individual. First meetings with the cesti wasn't likely to be forgotten anytime soon. Poppy whom she liked also made quite the impression in a short period of time. Trey of course was a pleasure to listen to with his interesting accent and friendly personality. Balkir and Elsbith were probably having a lot of fun. She wasn't peaking in on them through their mental link but she did get the feeling they were enjoying themselves. It was to bad Leoulin had to go on family business. For once Leoulin wouldn't have been alone as the only omaden male in the group. It would have been nice to see how they got along.

Making sure the pilot's good and steady, Trey flashes that bright smile for the ladies as he steps out of the shop.

Felt odd, being on his own. Oh, he knew he wasn't alone - He could practically feel the crew around him, and there was always Earnie. Although Earnie had been suspiciously quiet for a long time. It made Trey concerned for his friend, imaginary or not - you don't leave friend behind.

And then he spots a big ol' bug - Twitch - come strolling down the way, with people sidling out. But Trey? Trey just flashes those chompers and lifts up a hand like he's hailing a taxi. What can he say? He's an optimist.

"Oh, mon, tat's a killer look. I an' I don' tink we evah seen tee like before! What be now, bruddah?"

Re: Star Base Scylla

Elsbeth appeared to space out for a few moments as her frontal cortex processed the flashes of imagery that Balkiir projected into her mind.  She alternately raised a confused eyebrow, flashed a dopey smile and nodded with satisfaction throughout the cascade of images.  Invariably, the nods and smiles came from those images that displayed mostly the large Valkiir male's incredibly-toned and unadorned physique.  Her tastes seemed uncomplicated and relatively unrefined in that way; the tall, artificially-cultivated Praetorian was quite simple when it came to clothing.  Well, as simple as any woman can really be.

She glanced in T'risa direction, the Marshal having become very popular in the past couple of minutes.  There were now no less than six individuals (if you counted the proprietor, Arla) clustered there.  And one of them was a ... "bug..." Elsbeth exhaled and jostled Balkiir gently to get his attention - a sort of, 'what do you make of that?' gesture and tone.  The approach of the Omeadan male and his companion - who moved like a bodyguard - had not triggered any alarms - for neither T'risa nor M'kira had really reacted (well, more than with amusement).

But, when the woman that Elsbeth might eventually come to know as Nyssa deliberately interposed herself between the creature that Elsbeth might eventually come to know as Twitch and her male charge, the raven-haired Praetorian was already intently watching.  Her body was very still - yet the tension palpable, which Balkiir knew meant that she was on edge.  As if her thoughts hadn't already betrayed that fact.

For a short time it's my hope we can enjoy a little well deserved rest and relaxation. However brief that might be I hope that your duties will permit you to share a drink with us. I know it's your duty to look after him. I hope you won't mind if we help after all he's one of us now."

Seeing twitch arrive M'kira turns her attention to the unusual alien. She instinctively prepares to defend T'risa if it's needed one hand dropping to her weapon. However it wasn't long before it becomes obvious twitch isn't a threat. Her ability wasn't going off as well as the fact T'risa wasn't sending any mental warnings just yet. Still she remains alert just in case.

Her eyes flick from Twitch to T'risa feeing for a moment a surprise considering the incredibly difference in physiology if this being might fill the roll of doctor. "Would you be a Doctor that Csar sent? T'risa is here please give your designation and reason for coming to see T'risa K'mahda." She thought any assassin worth it's salt would have known it's target on sight and would have acted without hesitation. Still till the Klick'chack declared itself she saw no reason to be careless.

You're the doctor they're sending us?" she carefully examined the insectoid, her face showing not one iota of the ICK! her mind was thinking, until the initial distaste had passed leaving acceptance in its place. "I...uh...ok, it says you're fully qualified, so welcome. Uh, this is M'Kira, Nyssa and S'viim. The others are all shopping at the moment. Do you need anything in particular that might make your occupation easier on our ship? The Crow has superb facilities...but you won't know that until you check them out." T'risa flashed over codes to allow Twitch access to the Crow and the place they were staying. "Please return here to be fitted for a uniform of sorts and welcome to the team." T'risa looked a little uncomfortable "Twitch, if you could please find some form of protective clothing as soon as possible. Our team has made many many enemies."

She gave an acknowledging glance to Nyssa As far as I'm concerned. Your only duty is to protect S'viim, to the extent I expect you to stand by and not lift a finger to help us. You owe no allegiance to us, but are welcome among us."

T'risa raised her voice to the shopkeeper. "I apologise for taking up so much of your time.    S'viim winced just a little at N'ssa's suggestion of a beating, and lowered his head, in a pretense of guilt, but he was smiling merrily under his veil.  He listened to their telepathic discussion without comment, for it was not his place to interrupt two females conversing, even if it was about him.  Besides, it didn't matter what was said, nothing in the galaxy could dim his joy at this moment!  His wildest dream was coming true: he was now in the service of a beautiful and honourable Lady.  He was the luckiest boy in Tau Space.

When N'ssa mentioned young men pouting he looked up at her and stuck out his lower lip, as if to reinforce her point, then broke into a grin as she laid her hand on his shoulder.  His reverie was all too brief, however, as Twitch came over to T'risa and addressed her.  It did not immediately occur to S'viim that he was the new Field Medic, but that seemed to be the case.  Regarding him with interest, he tried to ascertain the new medical specialist's race, but could not recall ever hearing of his species.  He appeared friendly enough, however.

He bowed politely when Lady T'risa introduced him, then stepped to one side, staying close, should she need him for anything, but giving her the space to conduct whatever further discussion she deemed necessary to acquaint herself with the new Doctor.  He remained quietly attentive at her side, where he belonged.

"I certainly won't complain if you help keep T'risa and the rest of us safe. I think your in good hands S'viim good luck getting alone time I don't think she's going to let you out of her sight." Unexpectedly her own mind let a mental image pop up of n'ssa following S'viim into the baths as he had to be protected at all times after all. M'kira tried not to let the amusement show to much. Each culture was different and depending on which one it was the reaction could be as simple as not batting a eye straight to shooting at you.
