I can also play it at level 10, if that helps find me a DM.  9 is minimum as for the Landlord Feat, that is the lowest level I can be.

I might be able to run something for you, however, two things, one, I would need a link to anything you're using (I only have core and unearthed arcana), and two, I have several houserules, most are negotiable, but the magic has serious changes to fit the setting which has very common magic, often used even by farmers, but also a fair bit of technology built on magic but in a sci fi way (so radios, limited electronics, power tools, etc). The setting is made (so more limited negotiation) though open to adding kingdoms and such, but does have a few things going on that lead to political intrigue.

I'm not awesome at intrigue and such, but I can still do it okay.

Is there a reason you have to play a level 15-30 gestalt character in order to play a political campaign?

Well, no.  I could start at a lower level, but as level 9 gives landlord, and I would want a stronghold of sorts, and not be a wandering adventurer, those levels tend to allow one to settle easier, as most camps have less high level things.

Did you have something in mind for a lower level person?  Also, since I planned on it being Solo, Gestualt allowed a bit more.  As I said, I am not sold on that.

Just trying to bring some positions closer. So, Rinthor, would you start at a minimum of 9th level? I imagine if you want to play a landlord and not a simple adventurer you would only fight against the greatest threats, not just some simple goblins that loot a farm.

Also, would you accept Pathfinder?

I too would be interested in the political aspects of such a game.  I've thoughts of a Varys  type rogue seeker of secrets and all that.

Yes minimum level 9.  Ither Stronghold shopping or already possess one.  And yes, personally would only deal with larger threats. Smaller things is what we hire adventurers for/use our army for :)

As for Pathfinder, I have used that system for something similar before, however it did not go too far given the nature of RPOL.  So I would have some ideas on character design dependent on setting.

I can't help but feel that Exalted or a similar system may be a better choice for a 15-30th level game focused on politics.

Thank you Laditis.  I said 9 is the lowest for the feat i am pooking to utilize.  As RPOL games tend to take a long time to advance/level and as this will be a bit more RP heavy, I suspect I wouldnt gain much more power then my base character.

are you tied to DnD 3.5 for this? would you play another system that might suit the intrigue more readily?

Also, just what is it you are leaning into here? Political intrigue, conquering other nations, dealing with claims on your throne, etc., etc.? The song of fire and ice series covers a lot of subplots. Is there anything there that stands out to you? Just using that series since you mentioned it. Or were you referring strictly to the HBO series?

I have played the d20 Song of Ice and fore game as well as the Green Ronin one.

As for what I am looking for, everything you mentioned could be on the table.  Want some strategy, base building.  But also want the RP... Trying to forment alliances or if im a noble of a nation gain favor in it or something of that sort

ok, so a little more to the point. describe the character in game terms. that may be a little more enlightening as to what you are looking to do. higher level game play takes more world building, so building stuff that will not come into play is a waste time, knowing what the character is meant to do would make that easier.

As i said in the forst post, I am looking for mass scale.  Wars, conquest.  I do not have a particular character in mind at the moment as it would change based on setting most likely.

Only things I can say is they are a Ruler of some form.  I do not want a day to day run of his life like a normal adventurer but instead more with the big things.  Kingdom managment, Army training.. i am not opposed if he learns from some wizard of a great artifact going on an adventure but that is not the focus.  The focus would be the realm.
