Looking for a beginner friendly DnD 5e

Hello!

I recently bought the PH of the 5th edition and I would like to put it to a test.I'm looking for someone who would be willing to accept beginners (maybe 4-6 players)for a game and, perhaps, for a longer campaign.

Thanks!

Do you have other players looking as well?

I'd like to tag along. I have a Bard for 5E that I've tried to get moving but every campaign has failed before it began.

Do you mind if the GM is (basically) new too? I've never, not once, GMed 5e. I have also only played to 5th level (from basic 1st) though I did so in a solo game with three characters.

I've invested myself far too heavily into systems I currently GM, and in the foreseeable future I will be out of one of them (not sure which yet though). When that occurs (after I've decided where to put my main attention) I could GM a bi-monthly update game with posts much longer than this one; or weekly or even bi-weekly with perporptionately shorter (and so possibly incomplete) posts. I'm weening myself off making really detailed posts (as they take well over an hour, often up to four) but those seem to be the strength of my games.

Currently my problem is that my groups are very inquisitive and engaged. That wouldn't seem a problem, but because I gave them so much information (to begin with) they are now carefully analyzing that, which means it's become recursive order or magnitude. Basically the more I gave the more I'm having to, essentially, play catch up with what I did.

To be succinct, I was my own unmaking, I need to make more from less. I'm still working on how to do that...

But I'd be very interested in testing this with about triple this (post's) volume of in game text per month. I can space it out, and have you all ask for clarification or repeated requests for information missed; or I can make one post a little short than this one every couple week; or parcel it out up to eight in-game posts (with POSSIBLY more) per month.

Combat will HAVE to be quicker, as it really is the number one problem with D&D (or any iteration) on RPoL. So I will have strict MAXIMUM post length, and encourage creativity but not verbosity. This can have the excuse of the fact it's literally six seconds in game, and your turn doesn't take even that much (the WHOLE round does). In reality, it's just because I need to spend less time attempting to post and more time just getting something, even brief and sometimes insipidly functional.

Rmail me if you're interested. If not, good luck! If I don't hear from any of you by the time I'm ready to get the board made, I might check to PLAY with you all under a better GM.

Right now I need to sort out my current games, and make the game equivalent of Sophie's choice. So it wouldn't be a quick fix if I GM. Though it bears noting, nothing says you can't play in a game under me, and still seek another GM. If you do, please consider me interested in playing as well. ^_^

Hey all, I've been Dming for years and love 5e. I started back in the good old days, but have really focused on the most recent edition.

What kind of game would you be looking for? Posting rate? Just wondering what you'd be into and then I can see how I might fit.

Anyway, if you're still looking let me know. I've been thinking of kicking into a Pbp game since my regularly scheduled games are paused for the summer.

Hi there!

I'm not sure what you mean by "kind of game", but I assume it's the rate of battle/role-playing? Since I'm still getting familiar with the system, I believe that going through the mechanics would be great, so I would say battles would be important (though I don't want to stick to it, since DnD has so much more to offer). Long story short, I think it's up to the GM, I would play any kind of game.

I believe I could post at least once daily, but I understand it's not necessarily the majority of players who can, so I don't mind leaving it to 3 posts weekly or something like that. Not too fast, but I would rather a not-so-slow paced game.

I would like to join as a player. I have played dnd3.5,dnd5e,gurps and stars without numbers in reallife but due to a lack of time I can't do these things in rl anymore. So if you'll have me I would like to play with you, it would be my first game on this website.

I can post 3-5 times per week.  I have 30+ years of gaming experience.  I enjoy working from level 1 up, and am happy to help new players.
