Seeking GM: Solo 'Evil' D&D or Co-op Mage the Ascension
Good morning all!
Been getting back into gaming in the past month or so after quite an absence (over a decade), so enjoying the groove once more. I'm in a few games already on RPOL, but thought I'd post and see if anyone was running or looking to start two specific types of games I'd love to play again. Both of these I was part of many years ago and they were extremely fun, but fell by the wayside over time or finished the campaign. Specifics on either of these I'd be more than open to, since this is just a sort of general concept idea for the game itself.
Game 1) Solo 'Evil' D&D game. The last book I had was D&D 3E (or maybe 3.5), so been awhile. I did download the 5E Player's Handbook here recently though if that is preferred and could get any others if need be. The concept is pretty straight forward: the character starts off as normal (level 1 or whatever the GM wishes) and has to grow. Early on, the character may very well adopt the persona of a 'hero'. Help the locals, do good deeds, etc. Good way to get experience and grow in strength without having the masses out to get you instead. He'd be evil, not stupid. Once he's sufficiently grown in strength (and maybe a few things along the way), his plans would come out. The reason I list this as a 'solo' game is to prevent any hard feelings with other players with regards to backstabbing, betrayals, etc. In the same vein, having a group of 'evil' players might be interesting, but could likewise result in such. The actual world setting, ruleset, etc is pretty open to GM preference, but hopefully the core concept is there for consideration.
Game 2) The old classic. Mage the Ascension (2E preferably). This would/could definitely be a co-operative game (though I'd not turn down a solo one). I know of a couple multi-splat games in the setting (in one now myself), but would love a dedicated Mage game. Starting location, plot, etc., have a lot of options and plenty of variety in terms of the player possibilities. In general, I've always loved the creativity possible in the game and the setting (even if some of the lore was a bit cheesy here and there); it always made for a fun game.
In either case, if someone is considering a game of either nature please keep me in mind. I tend to check the games I'm in a couple times a day (even at work during the week) and most times can/do post fairly quickly. More quickly for the solo based content versus group (to give others a chance to reply).
Here's hoping for some good luck! Thanks for looking and hope to hear from someone in the near future!
