I was wondering if there is a DM willing to run a 2nd Edition Dungeons and Dragons game set in the Forgotten Realms. I prefer to start from scratch at level 1. And would not mind doing the Ruins of Adventure, Sword of the Dales modules or Doom of Daggerdale. Night Below is something I would not mind trying either.

Alright, if no one's touched this in a month or so I might run something. I'm just finishing up a pbp of the module in the FR revised campaign setting boxed set, the Twisted Tower. Should be done in 6-8 weeks if all goes well.

Whether as GM or player, I'd be interested in the following campaign/region ideas:
- Urban Waterdeep campaign (I have that boxed set, and Undermountain as well)
- Something in Chult (I have FRM1)
- Something based around the Moonsea and the Dragon Reach
- Someone else mentioned Night Below - that sounds fun!

I'd be interested in what other people are keen to do. Apart from Night Below, I'd be thinking a complete sandbox campaign, driven by character goals and motivations, set in the late 1360s DR. My knowledge of lore is spotty, so I'd rather someone else take up the mantle... but if no one else does and I do, I'd need forgiveness for getting that stuff wrong on the reg.

LOL. This is one of the downsides of opening a request thread, you tend to have more answers from people who want to PLAY rather than DM. Not that it is not appreciated and certainly most welcome. At least we won't have trouble with recruitment. :P

Sounds like there's a good pool of players to draw from. I'll step up to bat.

As for me, I enjoy roleplay, getting into character, making in-game decisions that are dramatically interesting and make for a cool story over always making safe, tactically optimal choices. I love making and portraying NPCs, so interactions are encouraged. BioWare games, from Baldur's Gate to Dragon Age: Inquisition, are my jam, so that should give you some idea of my tastes.

2nd Edition is one of my favorite editions of (A)D&D, and combined with the Forgotten Realms, that's a fair amount of nostalgic appeal for me. While looking into this I also discovered that Doom of Daggerdale was written by Wolfgang Baur, so that was also encouraging.

Now that I've read over the module, I'm skimming through the writeup on the Dales in the Revised Forgotten Realms boxed set and The Dalelands book to refresh my memory and setting up the game here.

As soon as I finish setting it up, I'll post the address here so onlie2004 and whomever else here wants to apply can send an RTJ. I'm probably going to cap it at 6 players, since that's what the module suggests.

Ideally, I'll have us ready to go by Monday.

onlie2004, do you have a preference for the Maturity rating of the game?

All right, I'm still tinkering here and there, but for the most part I've got the game site up.

Oh, before we go any further, I need to clarify: I can post, at most, once per day. I haven't set an expected pace yet since I just realized I never asked onlie2004 what their posting preference would be. But until someone feels like paying me a living wage to DM full-time (and hey, the offer's open), I can't make more than one post a day.
