D&D 3.5 Immortals Handbook, Epic Spellcasting permitted

First of all, I want to say I think Epic Spellcasting is quite vague, and the rules aren't always fair across the board. I'd like to request though, that if all parties (players and GM) can agree on a case by case, open development of epic spells, that epic level spellcasting be allowed. Clear open communication of the limitations and fears can prevent a lot of abuse from ever occurring.

That out of that way...

I'd like to play a high 20's to low 50's game. Not the span of the game, of course *chuckles* I mean starting level. If it was low 50's or even high 40's the idea of playing a god would be fun.

I'd also like this to be set as VERY short term game. Something doable, the smaller the concept the better IMO. Let's have a goal we can achieve and then if and when we've complateed it, we can then, if mutually decided, make slightly longer and move advanced goals. Even just the epci equivalent of the Battle of Helm's Deep (the interception of angels in one battle of the Blood War, or or something) would be awesome. Even a one introduction, one combat, then conclusion game would be fine.

Now, from a GM's perspective, and possibly some players, you might think "why would I put that much effort in making a game, only to have it edn so quickly" to that reply, it wouldn't have to. Certainly if after the battle is over, and conclusion is made, everyone wants to go forward that would be splendid. I'd just like to complete a game for once, in nearly two decades of D&D on RPoL. Give me a goal we can achieve, and fine, sure, if it's longer, I'm all for it. I just want to start something I can finish. It's not hyperbole when I say I would be satisfied with a GM putting together a one shot. Would I want more? Sure. Just because I'm satiated by a meal, doesn't mean I won't get hungry again. I just want to finish what I put on my plate. That doesn't mean the same GM would have to be burdened with the following  order (not that they ever truly are).

I'm keen on point buy for ability scores, and I would make a mild request for bonus feats, but at that level it's just icing on the cake. I'm indifferent toward gestalt, as long as the race and LA aren't gestalted in some unfair way. I like getsalt, but I can certainly live without it.

D&D 3.5 too. I cannot stress this enough. No PF. Please! Better or worse, I just don't have the time or money for looking into PF. So no hybrid. Just D&D 3.5 please. :) If you really want to, you can allow the 3.5 updates to 3.0 books such as the Sword and Fist, to Song and Silence paperbacks. I think there's more than enough to work with, better or worse, PF is just a different breed. :)

So just D&D 3.5. We can negotiate beyond the core and Immortals Handbook. I'm completely open to discussion of what splat books are fine, psionics, yada yada. If it's just core and Immortals handbook, I'll work with it. If it's everything ever published for 3.5, then so be it. I'd be happiest for something in the middle, TBH.

Final request, don't just reply to criticize or critique this with no intention to GM the game. There's other public boards to discuss all things D&D. Let's not argue over ELSC and gestalt, and epic level in general. I see this too often. If this game is gonna be made, in direct reply to this ad, then it should be built on the premise of agreement to this at the very least.

I would really like to be a part of this game if it gets going. I am in exactly the same situation and thinking as you. I have also been really wanting to use the Immortals Handbook for years, I just never had anyone willing to make a game for it. So count me in if we can get a DM.

In reply to paradox26 (msg # 2):

Awesome! Well, that's good to hear someone else is interested in playing. :)

Just recently finished a 54th level game as lesser gods, that started face to face. I had a ton of fun along the way. I would love to share the experience with a new group!
