Tell me a little more about you and your friends.
1. Are you online nearly every day, and willing to commit to posting at least every other day? (If warning is given of a prolonged absence, that's fine, but I'll NPC your character while you're gone.)
I am, and encourage these friends to be, online every day. I can commit to posting in-so-far as the usual caveat, which is I need something to post to. The primary requesting player however is an essential worker and may require a more relaxed posting schedule. We'll have to see. Once every other day should be more than enough time. I'll talk with her.

2. What are the characters you have planned? Is your request for gestalt because you have some interesting background and characterization in mind, or just because you want to twink out the character? I'm actually OK with characters being maximized, but they have to be interesting. I do believe that the player characters should all be heroic, and therefore among the best (at least in potential, for starting characters) at what they do best.
The primary requesting player is the one most preferring gestalt, the others (myself included) can take or leave it.
Gnome Bard//Oracle going for spherewalker and sphere singer. A prophet, a holy woman, a wandering saint, she walks among people as a goodly engine of love and peace, seeking to mend hearts and minds as much as wounded bodies, and to leave the world a better place
Half-Elf or Human dirty fighting type. Cad//Thug going low templar and deep sea pirate (possibly adapted to a more mercenary less pirate flavour). A lowborn camp follower turned soldier of fortune, always struggling to find the next contract and the next deal. Long term goal is to establish their own mercenary company and to free their half brother from slavery to the same company they were born into.
Goblin Barbarian. Runt of the litter, always made fun of and looked down on, he struck out into the world on a quest to become the strongest there was. A chance meeting with a holy person led to a twisted belief strength and morality played a part together so mostly struggles to apply compassion and generosity in life as a means to "be stronger" alongside the usual barbarian strength stuff. Has a (mistaken?) belief that they are in fact a half-fiend who simply hasn't manifested their powers yet, and seeks to find their "real" father and defeat/devour him to reach apotheosis.
The fourth player has a few characters in the wings, depending on personal taste of the DM and if the party need "traditional archetype balance". As it stands we have two warrior types and a dual spellcaster with high skill potential as the "locked in" characters. Potential fourths:
A dwarven exile rogue//gunslinger (bolt ace) who works for the gnome as a bodyguard. Grim and taciturn, with a focus on duty and protection complicated by the gnomes holy "friend to all creatures and peoples" persona which means she often will not heed his protective insistence
A halfling gingerbread witch. Old woman who lives in the wilds by herself, a fierce and terrifying creature of local superstition. Was once a simple wise woman in her halfling village until the fey who empowered her bloodline with magic came to exact their payment.
A elven druid (life channeler)//slayer going gray warden who serves as the high priest of a remote farming village, morally questionable but over all concerned with protecting her flock and defending those she has chosen as her people
My character's (the aforementioned dirty-fighting cad/thug) brother, instead of me taking Leadership this player is more than willing to take on playing him from the start and having the two be the same level. A half-orc cavalier//ranger (and likely other things as well) who is most of all an expert in subtle procurement and negotiation. A big and strong orcish lad who's more clever and perceptive than people give him credit for.

3. Does each character have a significant flaw, and do you intend actually to role-play it? (Hint: the correct answer is 'yes,' but I'm glad to work with you to make ones that are fun and interesting.)
Can't necessarily speak to the others but mine's got a goal or two which are easy to motivate and complicate things with, and has the statistical lack of charisma cad/thugs are known for and a general hedonistic lifestyle and lack of care which might make their goal of running a mercenary company a poorly thought out pipe dream. Playing a "leader" who is in fact reliant on more charismatic people and lacks a lot of other leadership traits
