DnD 5e Deep Sea Adventures

Howdy, I've got a character I'd like to bring to life and preferably in a mostly underwater game if possible, though they'll work on land as well.

Portle the Tortle was embraced by the sea shortly after they nearly drowned. The only thing they had from the surface world were the bracers gifted to them by their father before the incident.

Only vaguely remembering their youth on solid ground Portle sought to bring light to the depths and made pacts with things beyond the sea to do so.

Mechanics of the character:

Race: Tortle (you don't see enough Tortle sorcerers or Tortle warlocks probably because it's not a great min/max combo but I really like the idea of an undersea Tortle)

Class: Sea Sorcerer, Celestial Warlock, maybe some Twilight Cleric in there. (I want to go deep with Warlock but I'd also like to get my hands on Continual Flame at some point.)

Magic Items: Illusionist's Bracers

As for playstyle I'd like there to be a lot more exploration and character/NPC interaction than combat even though the character could hold their own in combat I want to explore the uses of their abilities outside of combat more..

Anyway, that's the seed of the idea. If you like it or have suggestions or even a game already available for something like it let me know! Thanks and sorry for the muddiness of the post I threw it together real quick on my phone once the inspiration hitbme and wanted to get the info down before it slipped away...

I can't guarantee an Undersea game, but I can tell you that in the game I'm trying to get input about there could very well be an adventure or two that takes the PCs from dry land to under the ocean for one reason or another.  The game I'm trying to get going will take a lot of feedback from the players, where I'll write individual adventures right after we've completed the last one.  The game will be pretty much open for the characters to do what they'd like while at the same time pursuing a goal quite a while away.

If that sounds interesting here's my GPIA idea:

Thank you so much for the response and honestly what you've got set up there as an idea seems really cool. Unfortunately I don't think it will work out long term for me as I have a constantly shifting schedule for work as well as some other RL things that have me occupying that 'different chapters of our lives' space you mentioned in your other thread there. One of the reasons PBP has been so appealing to me is the flexibility to post when I can rather than having set times to work around.

I do wish you good luck in your adventures though and really appreciate you reaching out!

Thanks for letting me know your feedback!

If I don't end up getting it off the ground in terms of a weekly live game, maybe I'll try swapping my idea for a purely PBP method.  If that's the case, would you be interested?
