The title pretty much says it all.
I am looking for someone to let me realize my dream of running my own keep/castle/etc.
I'd prefer to start small and grow over time.

D&D 5e "Castle's and followers"

Or "A song of ice and fire" are both fine though I have yet to play and completely understand asoiaf (there would be a learning curve for me)

I had asoiaf game that went for about 2000 posts before I had to kill it because I had to work on my PhD. I might try to revive, let me know if you're interested.

I would also like to play in a ASOIAF game.  I have never played the game but have been to keen to try it out.

That would be great! While I have the player's handbook (if you can call it that) I've never had the chance to play. So I actually don't know how it's different from D&D.

Good to see people are still into GOT.

I also would be willing to help if this is happening. I too had a game but it was to much for me to handle as a solo GM. The game also had many posts almost 7,000. I would be interested as a co-GM (not lead GM, but as back up and help with game design).

I am also looking for a similar game.

I have the book (A Game of Thrones Edition), but I haven't played either. I would be willing to GM the game though.

As you want to rule your own castle, do you have a house and lands in mind? Or should we create those following the rules in the book?

I was thinking about creating the house according to the book. It will take longer but  I'm okay with that.

As mentioned I'd like to focus on ruling but I'm also okay with some adventuring in between. Preferably a minor house trying to rise in power.
It can be before the GoT movies or at the same time as the movies, I'm not picky.

I think one of the benefits of the group creating the house together is that we become more invested in the house than  if we take a pregenerated one. And we can tailor make our house to the characters we want to play. And the kind of story and house we would like to have.

So from what you're saying about the focus of the campaign, you would prefer more social encounters mostly located near your own keep. Perhaps fighting bandits trying to do bad things on your lands. Perhaps going to a turney at your liege lord where some of the more martial characters can display their skills while there still are intrigue and social encounters too.

Your reference to the GoT movies, I assume is referring to the GoT TV show.

If we set it during that time, there is a lot of conflict. And it could be interesting to see how your characters take advantage of that turmoil.
