Learning FATE: Silent Hill
I have been wanting to see FATE in all its narrative-driven glory. I thought that Silent Hill would make for a fascinating mix of bringing aspects and character elements to life in its horrific setting. Silent Hill 2-style "The town is a dark abyss in the fabric of the world that calls people with darkness to it to confront themselves—to find catharsis or be consumed by their inner demons and end up a part of the town itself." Maybe with some of the cult elements of SH1 and SH3; that's my favorite style.

Lots of creepy atmosphere, personalized horrors, and mysteries to uncover as we fight to survive. Even as a group I think Silent Hill could work, because think of it this way: If the town is manifesting inner demons to throw at the groups, eventually, everyone is going to start trying to piece together what kind of messed-up secrets you have that is causing a certain kind of horror to be thrown the group's way. Psychoanalyzing each other in a supernaturally-psychoactive town with a gateway to a darker dimension is sure to cause some tension!

Anyone game?

Learning FATE: Silent Hill
Dang, if I had more energy and was actually halfway good at FATE...

I could maybe run a short/slow version solo to help you/us practice, but I can't do your glorious proposal justice, at least any time soon. If any interested FATE GM does swing by, though, I am very good at designing character-specific horrible Silent Hill-style monsters and willing to help with such if asked.

I'd like to revisit this game idea, if there's a GM to be found.
