I wouldn't mind 3rd level or higher, nor having access to Xanathar's, but neither are essential.

Totally missed the above. Tasha's is fine, enough players to keep the game going (4-6 with a bit of overlap usually works). I'm not fond of 3rd party material simply because it seems to be a bit overpowered compared to wotc materials. At least from what I've seen, which isn't much, really. I don't mind homebrew. In fact, with homebrew I have an excuse not to know it as well as folks expect me to know the Realms or Eberron.
Still looking, and I have some odd (apparently, from their receptions when submitted) character ideas I'd like to try. All do-able with the rules as written, just odd approaches.
