Aberrant d10

I'm hoping to find a GM and players willing to do some transhuman Abberant using White-wolf's old school d10 system. Any takers to play superheros, anti-heros, villains or people just trying to get by while not losing touch with their humanity?

I would be up for playing. It was a great setting made by White Wolf, and these days watching The Boys makes me think of Aberrant.

I'd be cool to play (I mean, pending campaign concept certainly). I don't imagine you'll have a shortage of players for this, it's finding a GM that's usually the problem.

What if Aberrant were used as the framework for a "The Boys" style/type campaign? I'd be interested in playing supers or an anti-super squad. Just an idea to drape the Abberant system over.

Yeah sorry Mr. Serious took me a while to find this.. YEAH! I'm all game for a Aberrant game!

I'm not certain about a 'The Boys' genre.. but it does sound interesting.  I have Watched all the Amazon Series episodes but have never read the comic I expect their widely different.

'shrug' I've ALWAYS wanted to play in the Aberrant universe... but I can be flexible, depending... on what the specifics are.

So.  That's at least 6 or 7 players... who's willing to run it?

I have a Fire projector character ready... phoenix motif, of course. :)

I have fond memories of GMing Aberrant....

But, man, I haven't looked at the Storyteller system in nearly twenty years...

I'd love to play.  I might consider GMing...  But no guarantee yet.

I believe the system is Roll a pool of d10's anything 6 or higher is a success.  Target numbers are number of successes.
1 simple, 2 average, 3 moderate, 4 difficult, 5 hard, 6 Very hard, 7 Heroic, 8+ superhuman

'shrug'... might be more to that but its basically like ALL White Wolf {Vampire, Warewolf Games}

No real interest in just using the Aberrant system but otherwise junking the setting to do a "the Boys" riff, part of the draw for me is the really rich setting Aberrant has to play around in. It's one of the better/more interesting ones.

Honestly I have no great interest in that show otherwise.

In reply to jait (msg # 9):

I believe the system is Roll a pool of d10's anything 6 or higher is a success.

It is a modified version of the WhiteWolf Exalted system.  A success is 7+ and rolls have a difficulty requiring a number of successes. When rolling Mega Attributes, a 7-9 is counted as two successes, a 10 is counted as three successes. This of course lead to most character builds dumping as many nova points as possible into Mega attributes, especially Mega-Dexterity. If I ever GM'd, I would be modifying character creation to limit that.

EDIT: I have pondered GMing but..... a)I really want to play! b)I don’t have a lot of free time except on the weekend and c)I don’t have a good grasp of the rules or universe.

EDIT2: Read the Aberrant rules and corrected about the basic d10 system.

There is a lot of good stuff here. I particularly like the Eruption, with his survival of an Terragen terrorist attack. I always liked how Aberrant & Exalted had it muggles can get cosmic power if you pick on them.

I am impressed with the bang for buck that sunphoenix managed with his Nova Points. I know, I know Boost is a pretty crappy power but I feel that by reducing it to level 1, it is better bang for buck.

Re: Aberrant d10

Apparently, it's been only a decade since I last played around with Aberrant, as I found an old post of mine in the Game Systems thread.  I certainly don't have that level of familiarity with the mechanics of the system anymore...

I like the depth of the Aberrant setting, but I was never into the core storyline.  So, I want to ignore that.  It's just not interesting to me.  I like the broad-strokes:  Utopia vs Teragen, and the conflict of ideologies.

Drawing on my childhood, I really like the Black Air storylines of the old Excalibur comic books, and can see some possibilities for that dovetailing well with the Aberrant setting.  So...  Echo Cell is a loose cell affiliated with the Directive.

Let's go with an independent "black ops" group with a mandate to investigate some of the more egregious abuses of Nova Celebrity and Power.  Note that "Black Ops" doesn't mean it has to be stealthy and subtle all the time.  It's just that your involvement and who put you up to it isn't easily discernible...

I've built the basics of a game at: Bright Lights, Black Air
